Hi there,

And welcome to this meditation for grief.

I'm Danielle and I will be guiding you through your meditation journey today.

Grief is a normal response to a loss,

And this could be due to someone passing away,

A change in a relationship,

A change in a living situation,

Or a change in your life.

We all go through grief,

And it appears in different ways for each and every one of us.

You may feel immensely sad,

Angry,

Frustrated,

Shocked,

In disbelief,

And know that whatever you are feeling is completely okay.

In this meditation for grief,

You will create a safe space to feel your emotions.

The goal of this practice is not to push away or forget how you are feeling,

But rather to sit in complete acceptance of what is showing up for you.

Allowing the emotions,

Which are energy,

To move through you rather than remaining stuck,

And to allow yourself to find some peace and acceptance in the way that you are feeling as you are ready.

This meditation is meant to support you as you navigate through your grief.

It is also so important to find support groups,

To find support in your family and friends,

Or to talk to someone about what you are going through.

Be aware of your own needs,

And do what you need to feel supported in this time.

Know that you are not alone in your grief,

And what you are feeling is completely normal.

So start by finding a comfortable posture for your meditation practice today,

And notice what your body needs in this moment.

You can lie down or remain seated.

Find any posture that will support you in this moment.

And once you've found your comfortable meditation posture,

Begin to connect to your breath.

Allow yourself to arrive in this present moment by noticing your breath just as it is,

Moving in and out of your body like a wave.

As you connect more and more to these movements that are being created in your body through your own breath,

Start to become aware of your body just the way that it is.

Noticing any areas that may feel tight,

Tense,

Or heavy.

Letting yourself to be supported through your breath and through your awareness of these spaces.

Letting yourself to be supported through your awareness of these spaces.

Letting yourself to be supported through your awareness of these spaces.

Slowly let your awareness shift back to your breath.

Allow yourself to be an awareness of any emotions that are arising for you in this moment.

Allowing yourself to feel what is showing up for you and then drawing your awareness back to the breath each time.

And in traditional Chinese medicine,

The lungs are the organ that can help us to process and move through grief in our body.

So allow each breath to support you in being just as you are,

In being present with everything that is arising for you in this moment.

Letting yourself to be supported through your breath.

Letting yourself to be supported through your awareness of these spaces.

Letting yourself to be supported through your awareness of these spaces.

And you can remain here for as long as you need,

Cycling between the waves of your breath and your emotions.

Fully supporting yourself in this moment.

And if you're ready to return back to your day,

I invite you to take a moment here to place your hands on your heart and share the following affirmations with yourself.

You can either repeat after me or just listen to the words allowing whatever resonates with you to move into your heart space.

I allow myself to sit in full acceptance of the way that I feel.

What I am feeling is completely normal.

I am creating space for myself to heal.

And for my mind to find a place of peace with what is.

Take a few expansive breaths into your heart space.

And when you're ready,

You can gently open your eyes and return to your day.

Remember that grief takes time.

Be patient with yourself as you process these emotions,

Which can often feel quite heavy.

Give yourself the space to feel what is arising for you.

But also to experience any moments of joy and peace when those moments do arise for you as well.

May you have a beautiful day ahead.

Namaste.

You.
