Hello there.
Did you know the universe has been waiting for you for nearly 14 billion years?
Its forces,
Both the known and the unknown,
The mystical and the tangible,
Have all been conspiring on your behalf.
Oh boy.
Oh joy.
Oh boy.
Oh joy.
It's your birthday.
You're sitting there now as one of the crown jewel achievements of the cosmos.
Nothing to improve.
Nothing to fix or figure out.
Your entire life will be a blossoming of the highest order.
And there's nothing you can do about it.
But enjoy the ride.
So let's play,
Shall we?
After all,
I know you deserve it.
You give so much to so many.
Let's connect with the well that never dries.
Let's make youth a habit.
Close your eyes.
Get comfortable.
Settle in and just take one of those breaths that allows the shoulders to drop and the heart to open.
I want you to take yourself back to your childhood.
See if you can remember a moment when you felt playful,
Youthful,
Free,
Loved.
Some moment of delight.
See what you saw then.
Feel what you felt then.
Hear what you heard then,
The voices,
Maybe the wind,
The weather.
And just recreate the moment.
Maybe there was a taste or a smell.
But in particular,
Feel what you felt.
How does the heart feel?
When there's delight,
When there's freedom,
When there's peace.
Feel the way that youthfulness is in you now.
And then allow that feeling to be even more playful.
Let your whole body suit glisten with joy.
Let your breath be more free.
And savor the way your youthful spirit is inside you now.
Don't hold back now.
Just let it be.
And notice that in fact your essence is youthfulness.
You are the same age now as you were then in spirit.
Doesn't that feel good?
Now you might think that because you were younger back then,
You were able to be more joyful.
You might think because your body was perhaps healthier then,
That's why you felt lighter.
Or you might think because you had a special friend with you then,
That they were the cause of your bliss.
But there is one true cause of your natural effervescent joy.
You could see clearly.
You could feel clearly.
And because of that,
You are experiencing and are experiencing now your true nature.
Unentangled,
Uncomplicated,
And effortless.
Not because of what was,
But because of what was not.
So life has a way of adding layers.
Life happens.
Our history happens.
Our stories happen.
Things happen.
Our spiritual work is to let go of the layers that aren't serving us.
We know of course that we are not the sum total of all of our experiences.
Otherwise you would still be the anger today that you had when you were young.
Things pass,
Things move.
And we are able to let go anytime we choose.
Just to come home to now.
So let's practice.
What is it today that might be holding you back from your finest,
Tingling celebration?
A fear,
A judgment,
A resentment.
Is there anything there?
Find the heart of a concern that you have today.
Then let's convert it to a belief.
So just turn it into a statement.
It'll sound something like,
I believe that's not right.
Or I believe this isn't right.
He should be like this,
Or she should be like that.
The world should be in some way different so then I can be happy.
Now begin by holding the belief as true.
How does having this belief affect your physical body,
Your emotional body,
Your spiritual body,
And your level of happiness?
Now,
What is the perfect antidote to this challenging belief?
What belief is also true that would resolve completely the issue at hand?
Maybe a little challenging at first,
But I promise you there's always another side.
If you get stuck,
May I offer a suggestion?
I am in co-creation with the cosmos,
And I embrace all the perfect imperfection that is.
Then I want you to have a bit of fun with it like this.
I am in co-creation with the cosmos,
And I embrace all the perfect imperfection that is.
All of it.
I am in co-creation with the cosmos,
And I embrace all the perfect imperfection that is.
Feels good just to say it.
Now you try.
Feel it in your physical body.
Notice it in your emotional body.
Experience it in your spiritual body and your level of happiness.
The cosmos,
Or the one,
Has given us the gift of life,
But it is our responsibility to give ourselves the gift of living light.
At whatever age you begin to become young,
It's always the perfect time.
Never stop playing,
Never stop forgiving,
And always make youth a habit.
Samuel Ullman,
The great American poet,
Says,
You are as young as your faith,
As old as your doubt,
As young as your self-confidence,
As old as your fear,
As young as your hope,
As old as your despair.
So where our attention goes,
Our energy flows,
Let's direct it consciously.
Let's let go.
Let's be free.
Let's play.
Let's spin.
Let's dance.
Let's sing.
Let's just allow life to be as it is.
And remember,
The day we may fear as our last is only the birth of eternity.
Sending you so much love today and every day.
Let's make youth a habit.
Be well.
