You have the power within you to live a life that feels real,
Aligned and true to who you are.
But we're living in a time where everything moves fast.
Society,
Technology,
Expectations.
And it can pull you away from the clarity you're trying to find.
Adding the complexity of relationships,
Work,
Family,
Friendships and suddenly it becomes hard to tell which thoughts are yours and which ones you've absorbed from the world around you.
On top of that,
The state of the world can leave you feeling overwhelmed,
Overstimulated,
Or just tired in a way that's hard to explain.
This meditation is a chance to step back from all of that.
To move through five layers of the human experience.
Gently stripping away the external influences that sit between you and your soul essence.
The deepest,
Clearest part of you.
The part that knows what you want.
What you value.
And who you are beneath everything else.
If you feel disconnected from that part of yourself right now,
That's okay.
This is your way back.
Take a slow breath in.
And just let it go.
You can start by finding a position where you feel safe and supported.
Sitting or lying down.
Whatever feels natural for you.
Let your eyes close softly.
Allow your shoulders to drop,
Let your hands rest wherever they fall.
Feel the weight of your head supported beneath you.
Take a slow breath.
In through your nose.
And exhale gently through your mouth.
Bring your attention to your breathing.
Imagine your inhale coming in through your nose travelling down your body.
All the way.
To the toes of your left foot.
And exhale out through those toes.
Again in through the nose.
Down the body.
Out through the left foot.
Now repeat this with the right foot.
Breathing in.
Following the breath down.
And exhaling through the right toes.
Letting your eyelids feel heavy.
They spend so much of the day focused and taking in information.
Give them permission to rest.
Letting the muscles around your eyes soften.
Your jaw loosened.
Moving down the body Feeling your chest soften.
Your stomach relaxing.
Take another slow breath in.
And let it fall out of you naturally.
Imagine now that you're standing at the base of a mountain The air is cool.
Trees surround you.
And you notice a winding path that leads upwards.
And you also feel a heavy backpack on your shoulders.
As you look up the path.
You notice a large tree.
At the base of the path.
And sitting beneath this tree is an old wise monk.
He looks at you with calm steady eyes.
And tells you that inside your backpack are five rocks each a different colour.
Each one representing a barrier between you and your soul essence.
And the monk gives you a simple task.
Climb the mountain.
And at each peak remove one rock and leave it behind.
Until you get to the top So you thank him and turn toward the path and begin your ascent up the mountain.
As you climb,
You feel the heaviness of the backpack pressing into your shoulders.
Weighing you down.
Eventually reach the first peak and take the backpack off and inside you find a grey rock.
This rock represents the emotional weight of the world.
The uncertainty of conflict.
The rise of AI.
Financial instability.
And this stream of negativity.
That fills your phones and your newsfeed.
Even when these things don't occupy your mind,
They may still sit in your body.
And just make everything feel a little bit too heavy.
So.
.
.
You hold the grey rock for a moment.
And acknowledge its weight.
And take another slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
You place the rock on the ground releasing all that tension.
Noticing how your body feels letting go of the rock and so you continue climbing.
You notice the path curving and sunlight filtering through the trees.
The air shifting slightly as you ascend.
Very gentle wind brushing across your face.
At the next peak you open the backpack again and this time pulling out a black rock.
This rock represents the expectations and opinions of others.
Family,
Friends,
Partners,
The world.
People who have ideas about who you should be and.
.
.
How your life should look like.
Noticing all of these ideas but just observing that none of them are yours to carry.
Because you are the creator of your own life.
Not anyone else.
So you hold the black rock take a deep breath in and let it go as you place the rock on the ground Continuing upward once again.
Noticing the air feeling a little clearer.
Your breath perhaps feeling a little lighter At the third peak now,
You remove a brown rock.
This rock represents.
The emotions of your past.
Any moments that shaped you.
Old challenges.
Old experiences that still echo in your body even if you rarely think about them.
Noting that you don't need to relive anything just acknowledge that it's been sitting in your backpack holding this brown rock.
Taking a breath in.
And as you exhale,
Placing the rock on the ground once more.
Letting it all go.
You climb higher now.
Notice the trees thinning out.
And the sky opening up above you.
At the fourth peak you find a red rock.
This rock represents the voice of your mind.
Maybe some self-doubt,
Some inner criticism,
Negative stories that you tell yourself.
Simply noticing that these thoughts are not you,
They're just patterns and narratives that don't really define how amazing you are.
How much you have to offer to the people around you.
How much compassion you have to offer to yourself.
Even when things are challenging,
You know that Those moments are temporary.
As you hold the red rock You notice the weight of these stories and narratives Some may be older than others,
But.
.
.
None of them really define you at all.
They're just stories.
So as you acknowledge the role this red rock played in your life Again take a breath in.
Nice and slow.
And exhale and then place the rock on the ground.
Notice how your mind feels.
And let this silence wash over you.
Going up to the mountain once more,
Noticing how close you are to the summit.
The air is still.
The light is warm.
You can feel the openness around you At the final peak,
You remove the last rock from your backpack.
A white rock.
This rock represents the illusion of control the belief that You need to manage everything.
Predict everything.
Hold everything together.
This belief.
Offers a sense of security but at the same time it disconnects you from trust.
And just.
.
.
Utilising your own intuition.
It also disconnects you from.
.
.
Flowing with life.
And all the ups and downs that provides.
So holding the white rock.
Taking a slow breath in.
And exhale as you place it gently on the earth.
After another small walk up you reach the top of the mountain.
And your backpack is empty,
Your body is light,
Your mind is quiet and you made it to the top You look out at the landscape around you,
The sky,
The sun,
The horizon stretching endlessly.
Take a long,
Deep breath.
And in this stillness connect with your soul essence.
The part of you untouched by fear.
And shaken by the world.
Unaffected by expectations.
Just you.
Your truth,
Your inner wisdom.
Just allowing yourself to be here.
In this presence for a few moments.
Taking.
These moments to rest.
Letting the clarity settle.
Letting the peace anchor itself in your body Beginning now to return to your breathing.
Feeling the air entering and leaving your body.
Feeling the ground beneath you.
Allowing yourself to wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
And let your body wake up slowly.
You've come home to yourself.
Welcome home.
