Are you ready?
To meditate with Kari.
Make sure that you're laying down and you're comfortable.
Everything feels right in your room.
You can finally relax your body.
And let go of your day.
Try and be still and quiet as you listen to the story.
So your body can slow down.
And eventually.
.
.
Hopefully.
Fall to sleep.
Heidi,
Cherry and Vea.
We're having a spooooooky night.
They got their friends over.
Kayla.
Ivan,
Ben,
Violet,
And Phineas.
Ivan and Ben decided that they wanted to tell ghost stories.
They were on the back garden.
They got a fire pit.
They were making s'mores.
Who doesn't like s'mores?
Said Kayla.
Right?
" said Violet.
She'd only burnt three so far.
Phineas was super good at it and everybody kept asking her to make those because she got them just right.
The marshmallows were just perfect caramel color.
They didn't burn,
And they were all soft and gooey in the middle.
The chocolate was melting perfectly,
Sandwiched between two gorgeous graham crackers.
Cherry said,
You're not going to believe this.
You're absolutely not gonna believe this,
But until last year,
I'd never had a s'mores.
I'd never even tasted one.
I didn't know what they were like or anything until we went to a bonfire,
Right?
We went to this bonfire.
We got invited.
Who was it by now,
Vea?
Bea said.
Oh yes,
That was my friend Sally.
Sally's parents were having like a get-together and they had a bonfire on the back garden and we got to try s'mores for the first time and it was delicious.
Yeah,
That's right.
Guys,
I must admit,
I'm a fan.
I'm an absolute big fan.
Heidi didn't like s'mores.
I don't really like them,
" she said.
No,
Not really my favorite.
What is your favourite?
" said Cherry.
Blueberry muffins.
Blueberry muffins?
Blueberry muffins aren't anything like s'mores!
Kind of funny really but yeah oh I do like a good blueberry muffin especially when they have that crispy sugary stuff on top oh so good so nice so nice they were all sat round in a circle Ivan said again,
Are we gonna tell ghost stories or what?
Ben said,
Yeah,
Let's do it.
I have a really good ghost story.
Cherry said,
I have a really good one too.
Vea said,
I don't like ghost stories.
They're a bit scary.
Violet said.
I'm not really into him either.
Cherry said,
Oh,
Come on girls,
You're fine.
We'll all snuggle up together.
We won't tell anything too scary because you know,
Anything too scary is not very nice,
Right?
We don't wanna scare,
Like scare each other to death.
We just want to scare each other a little bit.
Like it's really scary out there or something like,
Like someone's gonna come and I don't know,
Do something really scary.
Just Cherry talking like that.
Midvea,
Sit closer to Heidi.
Heidi put one of her paws around Veya's shoulder and said,
Don't worry.
They're just silly stories.
They're not real.
Ben said,
Mine's real.
I'll start,
I'll start.
One time right.
There were these kids,
And these kids had sneaked into the school at night.
Oh,
Said Cherry,
That's very naughty.
Ben said,
Listen.
They'd sneaked into the school at night.
They'd gone through a door in the back that had been left open by mistake.
There were seven kids.
Seven kids.
Until.
.
.
They were only one.
VEYA said,
Oh,
I,
I.
Um,
I don't like the sound of this.
Jerry said,
It's okay Vaya,
Just grab me paw,
Grab me paw.
Cherry reached out one of her paws to Vea and Vea grabbed it.
Go on,
Ben,
Go on.
How come there were only seven kids?
Well,
How come there were seven kids and then there were only one kid?
What happened?
The kids,
One by one,
Disappeared.
E e e e e e e e e e said Ivan.
No one thought that was funny.
Ben said,
Shh.
It's serious.
The kids disappeared,
Right?
Because once they got in the school.
.
.
Somehow,
They don't know how,
But all the lights went out.
All the lights went out in the school.
It was pitch black in the corridors.
And one by one,
They kept losing each other.
They do like head counts and they'd say.
Where did Tommy disappear to?
Or where did Valerie disappear to?
Or where did.
.
.
Emily disappeared to.
They just kept disappearing.
And all they would hear.
Before anyone would disappear was this,
Like,
Creaking sound.
Grrrrrrrrrr!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Cherry said,
OMG,
OMG,
I think I know what that sound is.
Is it a door?
Is it a door creaking?
Ben said,
No.
WORSE!
It was the janitor's wooden leg creeping on the floor every time he dragged it across the floor.
Heidi started laughing.
Ben said,
Why are you laughing?
That's really scary.
Heidi said.
It isn't,
It's funny.
And because Heidi laughed,
It lightened the mood a little bit,
And Cherry started laughing,
And then Vea went quiet.
Like that,
Trying really hard to laugh,
But she wasn't impressed at all.
Cherry's laugh was a little bit better.
It was like.
.
.
She didn't know whether to be scared or whether to act really cool and think it was funny.
She decided to try and act really cool.
I'm not scared!
Fly off and then she started thinking oh I wonder if the house or I mean the school is gonna set on fire and then she started freaking herself out because she was like oh what if the school sets on fire and those kids those poor kids are still in the school that would be awful this was all happening inside of Cherry On the outside,
She was like,
This is so cool,
Guys.
I really like scary ghost stories.
Is this a ghost story,
By the way?
She just took her fear to a new level.
The janitor wasn't even real!
He was a ghost!
She thought.
Ben said,
Yeah,
This is a ghost story.
It's a ghost story because.
.
.
That school had not had a janitor for over 20 years.
OMG!
" Cherry said as she hid her head in Vea.
Vea hid her head in hidey.
They all hit their heads.
Violet said,
This is silly.
Ben said,
No,
It's not.
It's scary.
It's a ghost story.
Ivan said,
Ooh,
As if he was a ghost.
And everyone didn't think that was funny at all.
Stop it!
" said Phineas.
I think I don't like this story anymore.
Kayla said,
Yeah,
Ghost stories are silly.
They're boring.
She wasn't bored.
She was scared.
But no one was saying that they were scared.
They were all pretending that they were fine,
Except Heidi.
Heidi said,
Look,
I know this is supposed to be funny,
But I think there's a couple of people Maybe a couple of cats.
They're a bit scared.
And I think you should change the subject and tell a happy story.
You're ruining the s'mores!
Thank goodness Heidi was brave and she said something.
Ben just started laughing and he elbowed Ivan and Ivan started laughing and he elbowed Ben as if they thought they were really funny and really cool.
And then Cherry said,
I have a scary story.
I have a really scary story.
One time,
Right,
One time,
One time I fell down and I got a really bad cut on my knee.
Are you ready for this,
Everyone?
Are you ready?
Everyone leaned in over the fireplace,
Listening.
I got a really bad cut.
It was like the bestest,
Bestest scab I've ever had,
Right?
It was so big and crunchy.
And it was really,
Really big.
And I kept trying not to pick it.
And every day,
Every day,
Heidi would say,
Don't pick that scab.
It'll make a scar.
And every day,
I was like,
Oh,
It's so big.
It's like a cornflake.
It's like a Frosties cornflake or something.
It was really crispy and really crunchy.
And then my mom said,
Put a band-aid on it.
And I was like,
Oh no,
That's not a good idea,
Because a band-aid,
I don't need a band-aid,
It's already a scab.
And my mom said,
Put a band-aid on it,
Because you're gonna pick that off,
Cherry,
And then you're gonna get this awful scar on your knee.
And guess what,
Guys,
Guess what?
She was trying to have a scary voice.
Phineas said,
What?
Heidi said.
What happened?
I think I remember what happened,
But I don't quite remember what happened,
" Thea said.
I remember what happened.
It's awful.
It's so scary.
Vea remembered what happened.
It wasn't scary at all.
It was actually just a regular kind of gross story,
But Cherry was thinking that she was telling a story that was really like a ghost story that was really,
Really scary.
Théa smirked.
She thought,
This'll teach him.
So anyway,
Said Cherry,
I put this plaster on me,
On me scab,
Right,
And I had it there and I had it there for two days,
Maybe two weeks.
It was really dirty anyway,
That's a scary thing.
It was so dirty,
My scab,
I mean,
Not my scab,
My Band-Aid was so dirty and gross because I'd been playing outside so much.
Ben said,
Get on with the story.
Right,
Right,
Yeah.
So,
Anyway.
.
.
I forgot how long I'd had it on,
Right,
But I'd had it on so long.
And then I took,
I went,
I thought to myself,
I need to take this band-aid off.
And when I pulled it off,
It pulled off the scab!
Ben and Ivan jumped a mile.
Cherry couldn't stop laughing.
It's so funny!
So funny,
She kept saying.
You guys all thought I was telling a really scary story.
Well,
It was scary.
It was so scary.
Because I was just staring down at the scab going,
Ahh!
She can barely talk.
My scalp,
My scalp,
My scalp.
It's so funny.
It was so scary.
Faye was laughing so hard.
She was crying.
Heidi thought it was absolutely hilarious.
So did Phineas and Violet and Kaylie.
There were only Ivan and Ben that weren't laughing.
Guys,
I thought you were really telling a scary story.
Cherry said,
It was scary.
You ought to see me face.
And then she started laughing again.
Veya started laughing again.
Everyone started laughing again.
And then they just carried on eating their smiles.
Which were the best part of the night anyway.
And then eventually Ben and Ivan thought the story was really funny too.
Later on.
It was time to go to bed.
The cats smelled like campfire,
So they all had a shower.
They rubbed shampoo everywhere so they smelled yummy,
Like clean,
Fresh shampoo.
And then they put the pyjamas on.
And they hopped into bed.
And settle down.
And Cherry said,
That was so funny,
Weren't it,
Guys?
She was still talking about it.
So funny.
I really did,
Really,
Really did trick Ivan and Ben.
Everybody started laughing again about it because it was really,
Really funny.
And then eventually.
The cats got super sleepy.
They closed their eyes and started to take nice,
Long,
Deep breaths.
Could feel their bodies getting lighter.
Floaty that really nice place where you're in between.
Be in a way.
And being asleep.
And then everything just disappeared into.
.
.
Sleep.
The end.
