29: The Body Does Not Have To Die

The deepest teachings of A Course in Miracles are radical and liberating. It has been these deeper teachings that have helped me heal from anxiety. This episode is a replay of a gathering where we contemplated the idea that the body does not have to die. The mind that projects the body can simply stop projecting it, so the body can leave through light instead of death. This session is co-facilitated by kironJ Gardner, Nouk Sanchez and me.

Hey spiritual family, I recently co-facilitated a gathering with Kieran J Gardner and Nook Sanchez, Both amazing teachers of A Course in Miracles. We share a belief that A Course in Miracles is leading us to awaken from the dream, At which point the body doesn't die. It simply disappears. It dematerializes, As Nook says, It leads through light, Not through death. So this is big and this podcast is the replay of our gathering. The whole session is a gentle invitation to contemplate this idea so we can allow the seed of this idea to grow in our minds. In this session we had 20 minutes of silent contemplation on the idea that the body does not have to die and that 20 minutes of silence is not included in this audio recording. A big thank you to Nook and to Corinne for being here. We are truly honored that you are with us today. A big thank you to Jesus for making his invitation so clear for us to gather together and to contemplate this idea the body does not have to die. The purpose of our gathering is to accept the invitation from Jesus to deeply reconsider any assumption we might have had that physical death is inevitable. I'm going to start with a prayer. Would you like to close your eyes? This is Jesus speaking to us through the course. The journey that seemed endless is almost complete for what is endless is very near. You have almost recognized it. Turn with me firmly away from all illusions now and let nothing stand in the way of truth. Brother, There is no death. Jesus, Be with us, Guide us, Inspire us, Love us, Show us how to follow you into total awakening from the dream of death. Amen. And let's open our eyes again. Nook has been teaching there is no death for quite some time now and for a while Corinne has had a conviction that the course is leading us to be able to withdraw the projection of the body without undergoing physical death. And now I joyously and wholeheartedly join them in this understanding and feel so inspired to do all I can, All I'm guided to do, All I'm guided to do, To share this idea that it's only our dedication to death that leads to the body dying, Not inevitable at all. So Nook, Corinne and I are going to take about five minutes each to share about this idea and then we're going to go into a 20-minute silent contemplation which is really the heart of this gathering, The centerpiece to bring our minds together and open together to this idea. And then we'll open the sharing to you and coming to the close we will, Towards the close, Corinne, Nook and I will have a conversation about what's arising in us as a result of being here, Being with you, Contemplating together and then Corinne is going to close with a prayer. So we're not going to be monitoring the chat as we go along, We invite you to be present and open to what's happening here, What we're being shown together. And when we get into the sharing bit then I'll talk about the chat. Corinne, Over to you. Thank you, Karen J. I thank you so much for being the inspiration behind this gathering and Nook, I thank you so much and I don't want to start crying already but just out of so much gratitude because my conviction has come because of your work. So I am incredibly, Incredibly grateful for your teachings on the end of death and your book and your upcoming book. So I would like to just kick us off during my short five minutes, Which I am timing myself because I could keep talking. I'd like to begin with a story about a man by the name of Roger Bannister. It's been documented that as early as 1886 runners were making efforts to do the steps to try to break a four-minute mile. They were trying to run under four minutes for a mile and it's documented that this began in 1886, Perhaps sooner. For years this just wasn't happening, It couldn't be done it seemed. The experts said that it was impossible, That if it was going to happen it would have to be under very certain, Very, Very specific circumstances. The clay track would have to be dry, It would have to be a 68 degree day, It would have to be in front of a large crowd because the crowd would be cheering on that athlete, That runner. But for years people were trying and it just seemed like it was impossible. And then Roger Bannister came along who was I believe a full-time student. He was considered an outlier. He didn't train the way the other runners were training. He didn't have the same type of coaching. He did his own thing. And in 1954, So however many years that is, From 1886 to 1954, In 1954 Richard Bannister broke the four-minute mile. He was the first to run a mile in under four minutes. And he did this on a cold day, On a wet track, In front of a very small audience, A very small meet. So all this time had gone on. He finally broke this record and only 46 days later, He only held that record for 46 days, 46 days later, Another runner then broke the four-minute mile. A year later, Three more runners broke the four- minute mile and they did so all in the same race. And since then, Well over a thousand runners have broken this four-minute mile that used to be considered impossible. And I share this story because the world teaches us that death is the only guarantee in this world. I'm sure we've heard statements like that before, That the only guarantee in this world is that everything we see is going to die. And A Course in Miracles is leading us to question everything, Including death itself, Including the belief in death, And including the belief that the physical body has to die. And instead, What we're here to contemplate is this idea that it doesn't have to die, That it can, As to use Nook's words, Disintegrate, Dematerialize, Dematerialize, And that the body can weave through light. Now it may seem that we don't have a modern-day example of this, But Kieran Jay has been sending me these incredible links and readings. And just the one thought that I'll leave you with that you can Google is something called rainbow bodies. And this is a state that's achieved by a Tibetan Buddhist practice where the practitioner leads through light instead of through death. The body dematerializes into light, And in some cases that individual can still even interact with the people that are there with their body as they are leaving through light. And this was most recently documented in 1998. So I share this because this idea that the body does not have to die, It's like a seed, And it's now been planted in our minds, Just even by registering for this event. And I'm so thrilled that so many of us heard the call to show up to contemplate this idea because now what we're doing is giving this idea space. We're giving this idea, This seed space to grow, To be watered and to be shared so we can witness, We can witness to this miracle. Thank you. Five minutes. I did it. Oh thank you so much Cori. Beautiful. And I would like to start by thanking you because if you hadn't mentioned this idea in a conversation we had, Oh six weeks ago, Something like that, We would not be here. Because despite having read The End of Death, Nook's book, Last year, And it had a huge impact on me, This did not register. But it did when you spoke to me instantly, Which shows that there is a ripening of the time for this and I think it's now. So what I'd like to share about is two main thoughts about what the Course says about this. Seems an important thing to look at. And the first way I'd like to talk about it is my long-standing sense that humanity is in its infancy in realizing just what this Course is teaching. What it's offering us, What it's offering us, What it's pointing to. We have just begun with its symphony of ideas, Its brilliant symphony of ideas. And I think there are harmonics and overtones in this symphony that might not be readily heard straight away. We may need to do much digesting and working with the base notes of the Course, The base notes of forgiveness practice, Before we are willing, Ready and able to hear these harmonics and overtones. And I am sure that forgiving physical death is an overtone and that we are now ready to start opening up to this and hearing. And if we come to the Course, To study the Course with this openness, With this idea in our mind as I've been doing just in recent weeks, There's a lot there in the Course that clearly points to this. And I'd like to give us a few quotes now to illustrate what I mean and give you warm, Warm encouragement to look yourself as you study, To have this in the mind and see what you come across. So the Course says, We are close indeed to the appointed ending of the dream. Not the beginning, Not the middle, But close to the end. And the last to be overcome will be death. Not the first, Not the middle, But the last. So put these two together. We are close to the end of the dream and the last to be overcome will be death. No question. It will be overcome. This is the gift that true perception brings. What was projected out is seen within and their forgiveness lets it disappear. So what we're talking about here is the fullness of forgiveness. If you're a Course student, I'm sure you're very familiar with the practice of forgiveness, Withdrawing projections from each other, From the external world, From our bodies. And if we keep going, Working, Working, Working with this, There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that we can't withdraw the entire projection of the body. And you might ask, Why is this important? It's not a peaceful death, Good enough. And of course, A peaceful death represents tremendous healing over an agonized death. But the Course says, Teacher of God, Your one assignment could be stated thus. Accept no compromise in which death plays a part. No compromise. Not there's no death, But there is physical death. There's no compromise in our assignment. Because what is the black draped body they would bury? A body that has been dedicated to death. It's not inevitable that bodies die. Bodies die because we tell them to, Because we've been dedicated to death. And we have all power to change that dedication. The Holy Spirit has all power to transform the foundation, The whole foundation of the world we see, So that nothing attests to death. Nothing. Not nothing except bodies. Nothing attests to death. This world is not left by death, But by truth. This is our assignment. And I'm so delighted that we're here today to bring our minds to this. Thank you. Thank you. Nook, You've asked for a diagram, So I'm going to bring that up for you now. Kiranji, Yeah, Can we, Is it possible to put the first diagram up, Which is the split mind one? Split mind one first. Yeah, If you can, That'd be great. Yeah, Hopefully you can see that. Thank you. So I guess what I would like to do is just talk about this, Yeah? But first, Before I go into the diagram, Guys, If you could just tune into the content of what I'm sharing, Yeah? Don't be distracted by the diagram, Please, Just yet. The content of what I'm sharing is this, Is that the reason why we seem to be dedicated to death is because of our unconscious terror of union. And this is huge, Absolutely huge. It's our unconscious fear of God. You've probably read this many, Many times in the course. And the unconscious fear of God is the ego, The ego's terror of true communication, True union, True authenticity, And true innocence. True innocence is undivided innocence and unopposed innocence. And that's what we're terrified of. Because when we finally will see that, What will happen when we do actually engage in true communication, When we do experience true union in the dream, Which we will eventually, What we'll find is that, You know, We withdraw our projections on the body. We withdraw our need to defend ourselves from love, From innocence, From union, Because that's what sickness is. All sickness and all death is the defense against this union, Against our innocence. So let me just try and fit this into a few short minutes. If you look at the diagram here, You can see that it is the split mind. Yeah. So it's the ego thought system. You can see a horizontal white line with an arrow, And that depicts our attraction to, And our belief in us being a body as opposed to innocent spirit, Right? Now, What you'll see here is that the body perpetuates the idea of linear time. It's the body. It's our belief that we are the body that perpetuates it, Right? So you'll see here a continuing loop. And at the top, We see physical birth. And then what follows after physical birth is amnesia. We have no idea who we are. We're innocent, Helpless babies, Which is perfect for the ego. And we come in, And we come in with parents who are not ascended masters, Come in with parents who also believe they know the purpose of the dream, Which is to help their children become bigger egos. You've got to laugh, Right? So we come in with amnesia, And the ego does its thing. And we can't remember what our singular purpose is in life, Which is to wake up to the reality of who we are, Which is the Holy Self, The Christ, The Son of God, Right? And if we don't wake up before then, Well, Guess what happens? We're taken out again by the ego thought system to sickness, Aging, And death. And we go back into the dream of death, And we come out again, Physical birth, Amnesia, And death. So as you can see very clearly, This perpetuates the whole idea of linear time, The body and time are one. Okay, So when, When we, Let's just go to the next diagram, If we can, Please, Kiran, All right. So here's another diagram. Symbols seem to work really well for explaining this. We can see three concentric rings. We see the inner ring with all the little dots. That's, That's the dream of ego life here. And in that central circle, We see a spiral a spiral towards the lower, Lower left hand side. And then we see a black ring, Which completely encompass encompasses the ego's dream of life. Can you see what that black ring is? That's the ego's dream of physical death. Now, God himself plays no part in the ego's dream of death. I need to say this, The ego tricks us into believing that we go home to God through death, And many still believe that we even awaken through death. You know, Near death experiences seem to reflect that idea. We haven't got time to go into that. But here we have the full ring of death. So the ego's dream of life depends exclusively on our belief that physical death is inevitable and natural. Okay. But let me just explain this that the nature of God, Which is the nature of his son, Which is the Christ that we are, Doesn't know anything about an opposite to God. God is all encompassing love, All encompassing innocence. And so are we. How could there be death and God? Only one exists. We we are totally profoundly split in our mind. If we still believe that death and God can coexist, It's absolutely impossible. Death doesn't end life. God is life. Life is God. We are life. And we are God's son, Beloved son, Right? So that's we're talking about the second ring, The ego's dream of death, We can see the little spiral in the lower left hand side. And this is what perpetuates time is this idea that it's natural, Inevitable. We're going to die. All right. And so we keep doing this, What I call the recycle program. We just keep doing it. We fall for it. And that's what keeps us locked. And that's okay. So that's the recycle program. Yeah. Now we see the outer ring, And it's called the real world dream. It's not a place we go to. It's a state we reach. It's in our mind already. And when we have allowed the Holy Spirit to erase all the illusions and, You know, Miscreations in our mind, What happens is, Is they're removed. And suddenly we see all around us, The truth. We see it, We are it. We there is no death, There is no sickness. They can't be it's impossible. Right? So we're seeing the real world dream, Which is the last dream we have in true perception before we go through the portal to ascension. Okay. Now let's go back to you can see a pathway here, Depicted on the right by three stars. This is what Jesus came to teach 2000 odd years ago, To teach us to follow him. And you can see he began in the ego's dream of the ego's life. And through his resurrection, He completely overcame death and was able to be seen by people after he overcame death through his resurrection. So he, He leapt into the real world, So to speak. And he stayed with us in the body that he had, He had materialized a replacement body for the one that he had left, That he projected. And then after that, He actually ascended. So, You know, That is the pathway we're taking. Right? And the last thing that I would like to say here is the how to, How the hell, How in heaven do we do it? What's the process? So all I'm going to say is this, Is that the, The compulsion, The blind compulsion to conflict, Sickness, Aging, And death is our fear of union. So the very last step that we will take here in the ego's dream before God takes this last step, Is we're going to join the victory lap. And the victory lap is the bridge that Jesus speaks about, The bridge to the real world. Okay? And the bridge to the real world is that we join in holy relationship. That's the bridge. That is what's going to help us to forgive the entire dream. And to also to de-materialize or de-project the body because we won't need it anymore after that. Okay? So that's what I'm passionate about, Is teaching the how to. So what we're going to need to do in the how to is overcome our fear of true communication and true union, Which is don't close your ears and your eyes, Which is undoing special relationships. We cannot do this without undoing the special relating in our special relationships. So we've got to, We've got to front up and undo our attraction to inauthentic relation, Relating. Inauthentic relation, Relating. Okay? That's how, Because most of us are absolutely immersed in self dishonesty and self disloyalty. And that's why we experience conflict, Pain, Suffering, Sickness, And finally death. Okay? So we're going to turn that about and we're going to have Holy Spirit help us to erase all of that. That's how we undo death. Thank you. I think I've finished. Did I do five minutes? Thanks Nook. I kind of thought it wouldn't be five minutes, But that's it. Do you forgive me? It's absolutely beautiful. Thank you. Okay. So now with these ideas in our mind, This input, We're going to go into silent contemplation. So I ask you to close your eyes and let this idea, The body does not have to die, Rest in your mind, Along with it's only my dedication to death that leads to the body dying. Thank you to all of you. I had an experience of celebration. It's the word that I would use. The line that I kept coming back to was teacher of God, Your assignment can be stated thus, Except no compromise in which death plays a part. That quote to me, It just, It's an invitation to, It just feels like a somatic experience of celebration, Like chains falling away. It feels like being freed from prison. And much of the course feels like that to me. Statements of truth feel like that. But this one, This feels like the big prison. Like each, Each thought is sort of like concentric prisons. And then you're out of this one and then you're out of this one. And then this particular statement to me feels like the big one or a big one. And I just feel like I'm a rocket that is shooting up into the stratosphere that is not weighed down when I say that. So I was having that experience. And then I was also noticing that I could experience the heaviness of my body. And I was trying to trying to figure out how to reconcile those two things, The freedom with the body. And was trying to bring the darkness to, Into that light as opposed to doing it the other way. And so, Yeah, I'm definitely stuck somewhere between those two things right now. But yeah, That was my experience. And it dovetailed quite beautifully with last week I had a course meditation where I suddenly experienced the heaviness and the density of my body as being very foreign. It suddenly felt very, Like not native to me and strange and odd. And so this is also felt like that, You know, The discrepancy between the lightness of being in the stratosphere and the density of being in the body and yeah, Trying to reconcile these two things. But yes, It felt like a beautiful celebration. It felt like just fireworks of great joy. So thank you. Thank you so much. I'm wondering Corinne, Do you have anything you'd like to give to Uma on that? I'm joined with you in celebration, 100%. And I know what you mean about that feeling of that joy and then the feeling of that density. And my mind goes to that they're not reconcilable and that that's okay. We need to be where we are and we need to turn to Holy Spirit and do the work. And as Nook so clearly was speaking, Undoing our special relating without, You know, Doing our special relating without that added pressure that we put on ourselves. That's an ego pressure of needing to hurry it up, Do it right, Do it good. That we really just fully allow ourselves to be where we are and completely engage with the work that we're asked to do. And I'm wondering if Nook has anything to add. I was going to say what you said. So I agree with you and I join you, Uma, In that joy and feeling you in my heart and joining you there, You know, Because that's where we can help each other. As if when I sense there's any incongruency or conflict in somebody else, In that moment I can accept atonement. And because we're literally one mind, One Christ mind, You get the benefit and so do I. So that's where I join you there. And I trust that at the practical level, Day to day level, That you're going to be coming in to your vertical alignment with your holy self more and more. And what I just heard then was you're going to learn to free yourself from compartmentalizing your life and your relationships. Thank you, Thank you. Yeah. And I just like to say I kind of like an echo of they're not reconcilable. It's letting the density go. And it will all be liked and can be experienced through what seems to be physical at the moment. And that it falls away. Yeah. The density falls away. It's not that efforting to make it go away. It falls away, As Nook said, As we come into alignment with our holy self. Thank you so much. Beautiful sharing, Uma. Thank you. Renata. Yeah, I just want to share shortly my experience and my meditation. There was no evidence of a body. When I close my eyes, I have this space. And in this space, There are sensations. And there are sensations that point to a body or the bodily sensations. But I felt that all this can stress, This can fall away easily. So that was surprising to me that I wasn't sure is there a body. There's no evidence, No experiential evidence for a body. Yeah. Well, The course does say at no time does it exist. Or anticipated, But it does not exist. And I'm about to lead a meditation next week for the Miracle Network gathering on Wednesday morning. And it's going to be about the holy instant. And I'm going to lead a guided visualization, Which is to bring to mind the sensations of the arms, Say, To feel arms, I feel arms, And then to let go of that description. Let it simply be sensation, No thought of arms, And then for the legs and then for the torso and then for the head and for the whole body. And this is wonderful healing practice for the mind to help remember that we're not bodies. We can practice this and we can support the process. We can't force it, We can't make it happen. We can support the process. So it's very lovely what you've been sharing. Yeah, I hope I can join you in that. Yeah. Yeah. I hope I can join you in that. Yeah. Yeah. I hope so too. Either of you wish to say anything on that? Okay. Jen, Jen MC. Hello. Hi, Everyone. Hi, Jen. Welcome. Welcome. Here, My beautiful friend Corinne, Who I love. Hi, Jen. I'm so glad you're here. Hi. And Nook, I've been introduced to your work over the years and I find your work so powerful and definitely has been the work that has really brought me to a place of allowing that belief to come in, This idea that we don't need the body to die. To me, The course and that idea and the idea that this world is not our real home are some of the most relieving ideas that I've ever seen. And so when I was in the meditation, I noticed that sort of same like, It was like an excitement, But I really love this word of celebration because that's what it felt like more of. Sometimes excitement to me feels more like an anxiety and it was more of this openness. And I also, I have been having trouble sleeping and I just like started to feel like I'm not sleeping. I have been having trouble sleeping and I just like started to fall to sleep, Which is like very rare for me. So I was just sort of like allowing my body to just kind of, It was like a very peaceful feeling, But I wasn't aware of my body. Like I was just sort of in this in this open space. But what I want to really like share is that I keep getting this voice that's like, It's not buying this whole idea about death. It's not buying this, The ego's insanity. It's not buying that this is the way things are meant to be. And my personal experience, Just to share very briefly, Is I grew up in an extremely dysfunctional family with a lot of emotional and verbal abuse. And I experienced a soul loss when I was an infant. And so I have tried many special relationships to fill that void from a very young age and recognized that none of them work. And the only thing that's worked has been this inner process of compassion, Compassion, I call the forgiveness, You know, Compassion and healing of these ego parts of myself that are in fear. And I could even notice before I'm coming on the call, The fear starts arising because it's like my ego's like scared of the connection, Right? It's like I can feel that presence. But I just find this belief that there is no, That death is not real, That we don't have to go through that to, To make so much sense to me, Like you had all shared. It doesn't make sense for God to choose death. To me, It doesn't make sense for God to choose for children to be abused. And I've heard a lot of people say over the years, Why, You know, We have to go through pain and suffering to understand who we are. And I don't buy that. I don't buy that. That's very, That's a very common response. I'm a therapist myself. I belong to 12 step programs. And to me, That's, That's the ego still that that's not God. And I just, I can't get behind that, You know, This, But yet I'm also in this place where I could notice as I start to get closer to this idea, The fear starts coming up. So I'm in that interesting place where those ideals feel really, I connect them and they feel very relieving. But, You know, I do believe this conversation came up at the right time because I am looking for that unity. You know, I need the support of other minds to do this. I can't, I can't do this on my own. So thank you so much for, You know, Connecting with this conversation. And the other thing I just wanted to add, What became clear to me too recently was because of the layers that I've been releasing for the past several decades, I recently became aware that my parents egos were trying to kill me and that I died because I had, You know, I was just living for, You know, Out of fear, Out of caretaking, Out of people pleasing all these things. And that if I followed the path that my parents took, I wouldn't have made it. That there was something inside me that I believe is God that has allowed me to keep getting up when I didn't think I was going to be able to get up over and over and over again. And that is definitely not something that's been in this world as well. So I'm glad I can be in a place where I could share this and, You know, Hopefully be understood. So thank you so much. Thank you very much, Jen. Thank you very much. What do you think you'd like to comment on? I will, I just want to say thank you, Jen, For sharing that. I think most of us can really relate. Yeah. And I just wanted to say, Too, That we have a community called the Total Transformation Course community. It goes for a year. We're also introducing another course on Holy Relationship through our nonprofit. And what's happening is there's a growing sense of online community throughout the world that need each other because you said something really, Really true, Which is we can't awaken from the dream alone. We can awaken in the dream, As many masters have before, Alone. But we cannot awaken from the body in death alone. We do need to overcome our final terror before God can take the last step. And that is the terror of union with our brothers and sisters. So that's why we have this online community of like-minded people who can practice being miracle buddies with each other and actually undo special relating because most of us have got no idea what the hell that is. We have no idea how we're being self dishonest, How we're being self disloyal. And we have no idea that there is a wonderful tool or tools to help us to learn to be honest, Self honest, And radically self honest and loyal, Radically self loyal as well. Yeah. So maybe you want to join that community. I don't know. I just wanted to say, And let you know that that's a growing community that we have. Thank you, Jan. I'd also, Can I also add something? And this is just something that's helped me and I'm offering it to anybody who resonates with this. Jen, You touched on that fear of union and Nook, Your words terror of union, I feel like just really speaks to how deep it goes. I found for myself that when things like that start to bubble up to the surface, Instead of distracting ourselves or doing something else, Give it space to come up, That's when I grab my journal and I start getting out what it is, All the fears, Everything that I can name, Everything that I can become aware of to bring it to the surface, Rather than letting it sink down beneath the surface again, To come up at some later time down the road. And in doing this with one of my own parents, I realized that when I was having feelings arise about a particular situation and when I grabbed my journal and started getting out, All that was coming up and the fear that was there, I recognized that I wasn't actually, When I was looking at my parents, I wasn't actually seeing them. I was seeing through all of my past ideas about them. And that was a big moment for me. It was a big aha moment for me to see that. And that has been the beauty that I found in using a journal as a tool to not miss those moments of when this unconscious stuff comes up to the surface. So I just wanted to offer that as a tool for anybody because it's been very helpful for me. Thank you so much. Thank you, Jen. Okay, Jackie Stewart, You've got something to share? You hear me? Sorry. It helps if you unmute yourself. I just wanted to say first before I share just how grateful I am to be on this particular group setting and how privileged I feel. I didn't actually expect to get on it. So I'm very grateful. And it's nice to meet you all. And, Luke, Thank you for your book, Which has helped me no end. For my personal experience of that whole 20 minutes, I think I spent the first five minutes in fear, Thinking, Oh my goodness, How do I get out of the ego dream, Going back and forth in time, And had to sort of really ask for help to try to calm myself down. Because it was the way that it kind of, The ego got a hold of me. The fear got a hold of me, Really. And so the good news is, Is I feel as if even in that 20 minutes, I went through a transformation. So instead of looking at it from being sort of in the ego circle, I then sort of prayed and asked for help and felt as if what was bothering me was the ladder of ascension that I would need to climb. And of course, That's impossible. How many lifetimes would that take to get out of the ego dream? So I was completely looking at this from the fear of fear of fear based. And so what happened is there felt a sensation of peace come over me. Whereas all of a sudden I was remembering that, That actually, Yes, As part of God, All of us being an aspect of God, That we already are perfect. So that must mean that maybe we are already there and somehow, Somehow we think we're not. So I'm looking at it, Vice versa, If that makes sense. And it felt peaceful just, Just as I was sort of thinking about that and contemplating what is my part in salvation's plan. And where it went from, How long does that take to actually you are already there, But you don't think that you are. So by the end of it, I felt extremely grateful and peaceful for having stayed for the, You know, So for the 20 minutes of the meditation. Thank you so much, Jackie. That's beautiful. Good for you for hanging in there. Thank you. Absolutely. The illusion is we're not awake. We're not trying to be awake. The illusion is we're not awake already. Yes. That was a great big shift in our thinking. And the Course says love waits on welcome, Not on time. Yes. And so it's a complete ego calm. Lots and lots and lots to do before we can be peaceful, Be awake. It's seeing through that. That's all ego stuff. You can just let it go. Yeah. Thank you. I'm aware that we've got a few more. I'm going to leave it there if that's okay and see if we can find you. Another couple before I would like the three of us to have a bit of a chat before we end. So let's see if we can get through another couple. Savannah, Do you want to show. Hi. Yeah, Thank you. So right behind me is my hammock and I immediately laid down in it, Sort of my sacred space. And I was immediately transported to a kaleidoscope. And last year I was in Israel with Nook and certain things happened there that I couldn't make any sense. And all of a sudden it all just started spinning and I can't put into words what happened, But everything made sense. And for the last year I've been disidentifying with Savannah as who I am, Right? But inadvertently what I did is try to go to this ideal self and leave behind all about me that's human. So I actually ended up in what I call spiritual prostitution, Meaning that I negated what was happening in my current reality and tried to make myself wrong and bad. And this about me is bad and that about me is bad. And I tried to leave it all behind, But not in an embodied real authentic way. It was this leave behind me this leave behind all this human it's horrible, It's terrible, It's bad. And so for the last months I've been coming in and embracing the human part of myself and loving and having compassion for it. But of course that's not the answer. Now I can maybe wake up in the dream, But not from the dream. Okay. So I was waking up in the dream and like, Well, Okay, Now what? So this is, You know, This is more peaceful. I'm not having the anxiety I had all my life, But now what? And ironically, I was also in the TTC and facilitated it. And right before this meeting, I was talking to my miracle buddy and she was, We were discussing various things. And as I laid in the hammock, It's like that conversation and everything just came together and I knew the perfection of it all. I think I've been trying, I, Savannah, I've been trying to wake myself up and beating myself up that I couldn't. And in that moment I saw that I'm just one with everything and everything is one with me and that everything that happened one moment after the other was just taking me to where I was meant to be. And that this awakening is not, I don't wake myself up. That's ridiculous. That's the ego trying to do it. So I can put it into words, But it was like this kaleidoscope that kept spinning, Spinning, Spinning, And beyond the mind, All these awarenesses were just dropping in. And I felt this incredible peacefulness and this, This joy, Because rejecting the human for me, That didn't work well at all. And so what I realized is like, I think it's like a step, You know, If she has that diagram, That diagram didn't make as much sense when I first saw it, But now it's like, I had to drop into the human, Accept the human and then move into the, The waking up in the dream. And then the next step is out of the dream. And of course to do that is to leave the body. And I love the four minute mile story because it's like, Yeah, I don't know how to do that. And I don't need to know, It's just going to be done for me. So I totally am a believer. Why not? Let's just do this thing. Thank you. Thank you so much Savannah. Beautiful. Thank you. We cannot do it ourselves. That's for sure. Anything you would like to say on that? Okay. I thank you for bringing Savannah, The whole idea that we try and do it because that's the ego jumping in there completely, Which it will of course. And that's us. Ego is not something else. It's our belief. So it's a way that we try and limit ourselves and stop ourselves. A miracle looks on devastation and sees its force. So it's looking on all this and seeing it's nothing. It's not fighting it, Not trying to get away from it. Just seeing, Abandoning it, Really seeing it's not there. Sorry to interrupt. Something just came through. I want to thank Savannah. Thank you. That was really, Really helpful because this is, And I went through this too. Same as what you did Savannah. And what we do is we go through specific stages in awakening. Jesus speaks about it in the manual for teachers, The development of trust, The six stages of the development of trust, Which is six stages of awakening. And one huge thing that I didn't get, But now I've got it. And so do you Savannah, Right? Is that what happens and Jesus actually has a quote. I just tried to find it, But I can't find it here. He has a quote in the course where he says that what happens for us is we go through withdrawing our projections onto other people, The past, The body, Etc. And then the ego being so cunning is that the only way that it can survive in our mind is by projecting judgment. It has to project judgment. So if we're forgiving everybody out there, Guess what it does? It turns that judgment within. And it ramps it up something severe. I'm sure that many of you here have felt that and then doubted yourself even more, Even after years of following the path of A Course in Miracles. It feels hopeless and helpless. It really does because that voice that was projecting outward onto our past and others now is pretty much exclusively condemning us. And it's telling us nonstop that we're not going to make it. On top of that, It's condemning the body in most cases. In some way, It's trying to give us a disease. It's trying to give us a catastrophe. It's trying to increase body weight or decrease it. So we've got anorexia or whatever. It's trying to do all this shit. And it's just simply a projection. And it's not true. And the big thing in this stage is that we need to be extremely mindfully present to all of the crap that it's telling us, All of the fears that it's throwing up. And we need to be able to say very gently and very lovingly, No, No, I am not that. And what we do is we accept only the truth about ourselves. And if it's telling us we're not 100% innocent, Guiltless all of the time, Then it's telling us a lie. So it's all of this self attack. We need to show up and we need to say no. I mean, During that phase for me, Very practically, I did something that Corinne does a lot of too, Which is journaling. I did it every day. Sometimes I would do it 10 times a day. And that was I would divide a page up vertically. On the left-hand side, I would put ego. On the right side, I would put my holy self or the Holy Spirit. And I would let that damn ego go for it on the page. Just let it pour itself out. And by the end, I would be laughing because you could see this is the voice of hatred. And then afterwards you would see, You would have compassion for the ego. Do you know what I'm saying? And just go, Oh my God, The poor thing. And then I would let the Holy Spirit speak about me and the body and the situation or the person or whatever. And the contrast between the two voices was undeniable. And so, That helped me get through a period where I didn't actually have a holy relationship in which to do this. And I'm sure that it quickened the time, Or should I say collapsed the time so that I could quickly attract a miracle buddy and really collapse the time in a holy relationship. Yeah. So thank you very much, Savannah, For bringing that up. Thank you. Thank you. Because what's interesting to me is, As you know, I was working on that special relationship codependency for a decade and I just cleared it and I felt like I'm free. And then all this self-attack came and I'm like, What? You're kidding me. So thank you. That's very, Very, And exactly what I'm going to do that with the two sides. Thank you. That's so perfect. Thank you. Let's go and purge. We're terrified to hear what the ego is going to say. We need to do the opposite. Just say, Come on, Cough it up. And it just dumps everything until there's nothing left. And that's when we can laugh and go, Wow, And have compassion. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. We're coming towards the end and I would just like to share some sense of that contemplation for me. And I'd like to ask Corinne if she'd like to say something too. What I got really clearly was a visual and a kind of knowing sense of a fire being lit, A spiritual fire being lit in that contemplation of life. It was like a crackling, Sparks beginning to spread, But not red or yellow, But white, White sparks of life. White sparks of life. And it felt like this was going through our minds. It was going to catch light further than our minds. It felt very powerful. And I am truly delighted that yeah, This is what I'm feeling. This is what I'm sensing. We can give up every ego use of the body. This is what will have to happen for us to ascend out of the dream. If we still want the body for anything, From the ego perspective, We're going to stay here, We're going to stay put. So that's a very powerful idea to me, To letting go all ego use of the body. And we can do that. Corinne, Would you like to say anything about your experience in meditation, Contemplation? I also shared that celebratory feeling because when I pause like that and come into silence with miracle buddies, With a group like this, This, You know, Idea that seems like it's just in my mind, Like you described, Karen J, I feel that that spread throughout all of our minds, Our shared mind. And it just gets me so excited. What I also feel moved to add is that this invitation to contemplate this idea that the body does not have to die. This is an invitation for you, Not just an idea out there, But for you now. And in 100% transparency and honesty, Because I can't be any other way at this point, At the end of a call that Nook and Karen J and I had in preparation for this gathering, Nook said something to the effect of like, You know, Joining in this idea that the body withdrawing the projection of this body, Of Corinne. And when that invitation suddenly felt personal, You want to know what went through my mind? Oh no, I think I need the option to die because what if I'm not ready? Like I immediately noticed the dedication to death. It was right there. And so my invitation to all of you is to recognize that this invitation to wake up from the dream is for you. And if you notice a similar thoughts like I did of, Well, I don't know if I'm ready for that, Right there, Catch it. Don't let it go hidden again. Catch it, Grab your journal, Start to get out. Like Nook said, Cough it up, Let everything come out of that voice that's saying, Oh no, This isn't for you. You can't do this. You've got too much to do. Get it all out until you can see that humor and you can come then to listen to the truth instead, Because this is for you. It's for each one of us. So beautiful Corinne, Thank you. Yes, This was the whole point of our gathering and the contemplation. It's not to listen to words, It's to be fully engaged ourselves. This is for all of us. Now, There are other traditions where they have this not undergoing death. And I hear Jesus so loud and clear, And now it's time for us in the Pulse community to open to this and engage with this. There is no reason why it shouldn't happen. And it takes each one of us opening from where we are to this idea and being shown. How do I proceed? What are the means? And maybe I can mention that I'm leading a day, An online day on the 25th of July titled Preparing for Ascension. And it is looking at the means. It's not something out there that Jesus did. Jesus wants us to follow him. So what can we do now? It's the whole basis of that day. I think there'll be more work to come. Please get in touch if you're interested. Yeah, Nook, A brief word. Can you do a brief word? Do you want to say anything about your experience of the contemplation? The big thing for me was the heart-centered joining. I almost burst into tears, Happy tears at one point. I could feel it bubbling up. And what was behind the tears was the immense gratitude to you guys for joining and having an open mind. Open mind. This is huge. If we look in the manual for teachers, We're going to see the gifts there of the characteristics of the teachers of God. And there are 10. And the last one that we acquire is open-mindedness. So you guys having an open mind and an open heart to this message is huge. So my heart goes out to you. I join you in my own sacred space with you and continue to work with you all because of your dedication to this as well. Yeah. It's huge. Absolutely huge. I mean, It's the biggest thing we could ever do in the entire dream because we're collapsing the dream of separation. And when we join, We strengthen what we join in.
