Mindfulness Meditation For Flowing With Life
This mindfulness based meditation is to help you overcome your fear of changes in your life, especially when you are facing the uncertainty of the unknown that causes stress and anxiety due to your resistance to change. Your unhappiness is caused by your resistance to change, as you are defying the natural flow of life. You will learn to ascend from the ego or fear-based to walking in trust without the need to control, fix, manage, and manipulate certain situations.

This is a mindfulness meditation for flowing with life.
Now,
I invite you to get into a comfortable position and gently and slowly close your eyes.
Relax and begin by taking some nourishing breaths.
You are going to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
And with every exhale,
Feel your body sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation.
And feel your body being grounded.
If you are sitting upright,
Feel your root chakra grounding against the surface of the earth.
And if you are not sitting on the ground,
It is okay.
You can just imagine that you are.
And if you are lying down,
Feel your body plunging deeper and deeper into relaxation.
Just relax and breathe.
Now return your breath back to its natural rhythm.
You do not need to force your breath.
Just let it flow in and through you as life force energy cleanses and rejuvenates.
And I want you to imagine as you are breathing that when you are inhaling,
You are filling your heart,
Lungs and entire body with love,
Courage,
Faith and trust.
And as you exhale,
Imagine that you are releasing fear and the need to feel and be in control.
And let it all out and let it flow.
And try to immerse yourself and your breath with the natural flow of life.
Just relax,
Release and let it go and let it flow.
There is nowhere else you need to be and nothing else you need to be doing.
So try to focus on being fully present right here,
Right now and what matters is your connection with the breath and nothing else but the breath.
And it is okay if your mind wanders.
Just bring your attention and awareness back to the breath and use your breath as an anchor throughout this meditation if your attention diverts elsewhere.
Just how the heart's job is to innately beat to keep you alive,
The mind's job is to innately think.
But in meditation,
You are trying to tame and calm the monkey mind from your thoughts.
But that does not mean that you are trying to wipe out your thoughts entirely in meditation because that would be impossible.
But rather,
You are trying to aim for gaps of blank moments in between your thoughts by choosing a subject of focus,
Whether that would be the breath or a mantra or a flickering candle flame.
Because essentially,
After enough time of practicing meditation,
You will finally reap the benefits that arise from meditating.
Just relax and focus on the breath.
Inhale and breathe in trust.
Exhale and release fear and let it flow.
The intent of this meditation is learning to let go of control,
Trusting yourself and trusting the process with an inner knowing that the universe is working with you and for you and not against you.
And you are flowing naturally with the stream of life.
Imagine how beautiful to live life in a way that you have enough trust within yourself and the universe,
Where you can show up and face life with courage and surrendering to what is and to all of life's possibilities.
There is a quote by John O'Donohue where he says,
I would love to live like a river flows carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.
So learn to expect the unexpected because life was never meant to be a linear path.
So often when we are so fixated on a certain outcome and the logic of your mind tells you why things should be a certain way because of X,
Y and Z.
That we miss out on the gifts of the universe communicating to us in subtle and creative ways,
Trying to send us messages and guide us.
The key is to simply breathe,
Calm the mind,
Slow down and be as present as possible so that you can tune into whatever sign shows up in your life.
If you are stuck in your head worrying,
Overthinking,
Overanalyzing,
Rushing and being busy,
Judging and being angry,
You are never going to realize when the universe is trying to get your attention.
You have to be present,
Open and willing to receive answers and little nudges leading you in certain directions and paths.
When you remain flexible and receptive to changes and the unknown without the need to control that is stemming from the ego or fear based on life and experiencing the feeling of oneness and the interconnectedness with the universe,
You then create space and make room for life's unexpected miracles to unravel and present themselves to you,
Your blessings in disguise.
I now invite you to put your intention out there in what you would like to achieve out of this meditation.
Would it be to feel lighter,
Happier,
Calmer and experiencing more peace and harmony as you go through life and accepting and receiving all things,
Events and circumstances being thrown at you,
Whatever that may be,
Whether good or bad and you do so with grace,
Gratitude and fortitude.
Let that intention settle in.
Just relax and focus on the breath.
Inhale and breathe in trust.
Exhale and release fear and let it flow.
Because there is a sense of power,
When you are able to be flexible and embrace change as it comes and be adaptable without resistance that is causing friction which brings about stress and anxiety especially when you are trying to swim upstream against the currents in a river that is naturally flowing downstream.
The same analogy applies to your life.
Life is going to inevitably change.
That is the beauty of life.
It is not meant to remain and stay the same.
Because change is the only thing that is constant in this world.
And the only thing that is permanent in life is its impermanence.
Because nothing in life is ever set in stone.
For instance,
Your job,
Your income,
Your relationships,
Your feelings,
Your health and your life.
As you are not always guaranteed that you will live to see change.
Life is going to change.
And if you flow with life,
If you could just relax when things happen and say,
I may not have wanted that to happen but I am going to flow with this and do my best to accept this change because life is a series of changes.
Otherwise,
How will I be able to learn,
Grow and evolve?
Then you will be much better off and happier because your unhappiness is caused by your resistance to change as you are defying the natural flow of life.
So if you could just flow with it and accept that the plans you made have been altered,
Even though you do not like that your plans have been changed,
You are going to find a way to turn these lemons into lemonade.
Trust the process and understand that the universe is working with you and for you and not against you.
And it requires that we absolutely let go of trying to fix,
Manage,
Control and manipulate things.
Just relax and focus on the breath.
Inhale and breathe in trust.
Exhale and release fear and let it flow.
This is the art of flowing with life and what a beautiful way to live because you trust that when you encounter hardships and conflicts as you are facing the uncertainty of the unknown and it puts you in an uncomfortable position especially during tumultuous times as it disrupts what you know,
What you can control and what is familiar and what is comfortable to you.
And there is power in knowing and trusting that you will prevail even better,
Wiser and stronger.
If you could accept these hurdles in life and change your perspective to see these challenges as life's lessons to be learned and that they are there to help you evolve and progress as a divine spiritual being having an earth human experience then life would be so much more enjoyable.
As you learn and practice flowing with the river of life you will then become more adept in dealing with all of life's hardships,
Changes,
Conflicts,
Difficulties and setbacks with understanding and grace.
And you become resilient and be able to self-regulate and ride the waves both internally and externally with ease.
Consider this prayer from the Buddhist tradition.
May whatever arises serve the awakening of mind and heart wisdom and compassion.
May whatever is going on in our lives,
Whatever circumstances,
May they serve and trust that they will serve.
Now let that sink in and just relax and focus on the breath.
Inhale and breathe in trust.
Exhale and release fear as you unravel the knots in your stomach as you do not need to feel anxious anymore and to let it flow.
Now,
I invite you to repeat these affirmations after me or say them silently in your head.
My life is in perfect balance because I take care of myself and follow my heart.
I honor my needs.
I allow myself to be recognized and I embrace the power of the pause and the silence.
I surrender to the higher guidance and trust the process.
I trust that the universe is working with me and for me and not against me.
I release my control of things I cannot accept.
Instead of trying to force things to go a certain way,
I trust the universe is working on my behalf.
I see everything in life has its own time and place and I allow all to be as it is.
I let go and let it flow.
I trust the process and release my insecurities completely.
I am not letting my fear of uncertainty control me.
I have unshakable faith in the universe.
I step forward with confidence and trust my new beginning is appropriate for my big picture.
My life is important and I allow myself to be fully in the process.
It is safe to release all troubling situations.
I let go of the things I cannot control.
I am aligned with the universe and I have divine protection.
I understand that sometimes the struggle is there to bring me new opportunities.
I do not get upset when I face a roadblock.
I trust that it leads me to a necessary detour.
I release all expectations and allow myself to be in the flow of life.
I embrace the journey and let things unfold naturally.
The situations I am in are part of my life plan.
I accept them as though I had chosen them myself.
I release all expectations and trust things as they should be.
I do not always get what I want but I know I will always get what I truly need.
I may feel stuck and at a standstill at times but when I turn inward,
I know all is in order.
I know that I am being guided.
The universe opens new doors for me as soon as I surrender and let it do its thing.
I am connected to my true self and know all is in perfect order.
I have goals and deep desires but they will be manifested in their own right time and place.
I release my need to have things when and how I want and I turn my trust to the universe.
I always get what I need when I need it.
I surrender to the flow of life.
I am in the journey of my life and I embrace each moment fully.
Each difficult experience is a pathway to greatness within me.
All setbacks are really growth and part of my overarching life plan.
I will not allow negative thoughts and fears to block my way into happiness.
Trust in life can be surprising opportunities for growth.
Although this time of my life may be uncertain,
I trust my future self is guiding me.
I am willing to see the silver lining and am open to living my life in refreshing new ways.
I know there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
I am responsible for all I experience.
I always align with my loving light and focus on what I want with joy and ease.
I release all worry and spend my time creating my joy filled reality.
When I focus on what I want,
It flourishes and comes to me.
I love that the universe is always bringing joy,
Love and abundance into my life.
I am not attached to the outcome of situations in my life.
I feel connected to my purposes and see how everything works together.
I see there is no such thing as a setback.
I am always being nudged into a new awareness of self and I am connected to my life and I focus forward with love.
All of my needs are met.
I am full of love and my attention is on the present moment.
No matter what the outcome,
I know it will be for my greater good.
What once bothered me no longer affects me for I am peace and harmony.
I can be calm in the chaos because I am a beacon of love and light.
Starting now,
I focus forward.
I align my energy with love and support.
I let go of my past.
For today is the only day that matters.
What I do today has the potential to improve all my tomorrows.
I trust.
I surrender.
I let go.
And I am flowing with life.
And so it is.
Thank you.
