This guided meditation will take you on a celestial journey as you drift off to an astral dreamland. This meditation consists of deep penetrating breaths that will put you in a deep trance and relaxation state for a peaceful and restful sleep. Follow my voice as we relieve you from the everyday burden of life, setting an intention for a good night’s rest, fill your heart up with love and gratitude, as well as a poem by Rumi, and close with affirmations.

This is a guided meditation for peaceful sleep and relaxation.

Now let's begin.

I invite you to get into a position that is comfortable,

Restful,

And relaxed.

Gently and slowly close your eyes.

Let's take a few deep breaths.

We're going to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

And with every exhale,

Just let it flow and allow your muscles to soften and relax.

Just like this.

Let's do it together.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Beautiful.

Now just relax.

With every breath,

I invite you to drift deeper and deeper into relaxation and feel that your entire body is being grounded.

I ask that you release all of the things you still have yet to do and whatever it is that you're still concerned with.

Leave it outside of this resting space.

What matters is this present moment right here,

Right now,

Just you and your breath.

There's nowhere else you need to be.

There's nothing else you need to be doing.

I ask that you just let go and simply be.

Continue to take slow,

Deep breaths.

I now invite you to pay attention to your body.

Starting from the crown of your head and make your way down to the tips of your toes.

Notice how your body feels.

Observe your body.

Listen.

And what is it telling you?

Do you feel tension?

Are there any sensations?

Continue to breathe into them.

Release and let them flow out of you.

And now return your breath to its natural rhythm.

Now let's take this moment and I invite you to set an intention for the kind of sleep you would like to experience tonight.

Would that be a sleep that is peaceful,

Relaxing,

Deep and restful?

Let that intention settle in.

Now let's take a moment.

As we unwind and think about all of the things that we are grateful for.

As gratitude is one of the most powerful feelings that we can experience.

And it opens us up to all of life and we experience life in a more powerful and profound way.

We have been blessed with so much.

Look around us.

We have the majestic earth that is filled with immense beauty,

Love,

Art,

Joy and peace.

Now I will read one of my favorite poems by Rumi.

Only breath.

Not Christian or Jew or Muslim.

Not Hindu,

Buddhist,

Sufi or Zen.

Not any religion or cultural system.

I am not from the east or the west.

Not out of the ocean or up from the ground.

Not natural or ethereal.

Not composed of elements at all.

I do not exist.

Am not an entity in this world or in the next.

Did not descend from Adam and Eve or any origin story.

My place is placeless.

A trace of the traceless.

Neither body or soul.

I belong to the beloved.

I have seen the two worlds as one and that one call to and know.

First,

Last,

Outer,

Inner.

Only that breath breathing human being.

And it is an honor to be simply human and to be able to simply breathe.

Don't dive.

Let's end with some affirmations.

I am grateful to wake up in the morning and experience this beautiful life that I am creating with my thoughts and visions as I drift off to sleep.

I gratefully receive the lessons that each experience brings.

I welcome all of the ways the universe wants to bless me.

I am releasing all that is not in alignment with me and my highest good.

My heart is open and receptive to giving and receiving love.

I am a magnet for positive loving experiences.

I am grateful for another day to make a positive contribution as I am beautiful,

Unique soul and I acknowledge that my existence and contribution to this planet are needed.

And so it is.
