This meditation includes a body scan followed by a meditation to reparent yourself through the power of visualization. We will visualize our ideal caregivers attuning to our child self in order to provide psychological and spiritual support in living an authentic life.

Hello,

Welcome to Awakening Air Authenticity's Ideal Parent Inner Child Meditation.

This was a style of meditation to heal created by Daniel P.

Brown that I have adapted.

So as we are here,

Welcome,

Welcome to this guided relaxation and healing session.

Before we begin,

Find a comfortable and quiet space where you can fully relax.

Sit or lie down in a position that feels the most comfortable to you.

Invitation to bring something cozy,

Could be anything from a stuffy to a candle to a blanket,

Anything that is going to help you feel a little bit more supported here.

Sit and lie down in a position that feels the most comfortable to you.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath and allow your lungs to fill with fresh air.

As you exhale,

Release any tension or stress from your body.

Take another deep breath in and this time imagine yourself inhaling a sense of calm,

A sense of relaxation.

Exhale letting go of any remaining tension.

Now as we start this session,

I invite you to imagine a soft,

Soothing light.

Soft and soothing,

Imagine this peaceful light at the top of your head and know that this light represents relaxation,

Tranquility,

Safety,

Connection.

I will begin a countdown and with each number I count down,

This light will move slowly down your body,

Relaxing and soothing every part that it touches.

Feel free to change the color of this light to something that feels good to you.

Starting with 10,

Counting down to zero,

10,

Feel this gentle light starting to descend from the top of your head,

Moving down slowly,

Relaxing your scalp and your forehead.

Imagine all of the tension in your head melting away as this light moves.

Nine,

It continues to descend,

Now moving down to your neck and your shoulders.

Feel the warmth and relaxation spreading through your neck and your shoulders,

Releasing any tightness or discomfort.

Eight,

The soothing light moves down your chest and your upper back.

Your chest expands with each breath and you sense a calm and ease washing over you.

Seven,

It continues to descend,

Moving down through your arms all the way to your fingertips.

Your arms feel light,

Relaxed,

Almost like tassels hanging from the sides of your body.

They are enveloped in a warm,

Comforting embrace,

A warm light.

Six,

The light moves down to your abdomen and lower back.

Feel any tension in this area melting away,

Leaving you with a deep sense of relaxation.

Five,

Now it flows down to your hips and thighs,

Relaxing the muscles in your lower body.

You feel supported and at ease.

Four,

The light moves down to your knees and calves,

Soothing any remaining tension in your legs.

Your legs feel light and comfortable.

Three,

This light continues to descend,

Moving down to your ankles and your feet.

Your entire body is now enveloped in this peaceful,

Relaxing light.

Two,

As the light reaches your toes,

Your entire body is completely relaxed and you are in a state of deep tranquility.

One,

You are now fully relaxed from head to toe.

Allow whatever you are experiencing to be present.

Allow yourself to use the breath to continue to inhale in support from your environment,

The birds,

The water,

The rain,

The animals.

Exhale anything that doesn't serve you.

You don't need to know what it is.

Beautiful.

Allowing that light to continue to move as it moves back from your feet,

The arches in your heels,

Moving your awareness up your ankles,

Calves,

And shins.

Allowing that light to move and give loving awareness to whatever is present.

Moving up the knees and thighs,

Letting go of any tension you may be holding.

Letting that light move up to your awareness with your hips,

Your pelvis.

Feel them become loose and relaxed,

Allowing yourself to sink even deeper.

That light moving back up through the abdomen,

The lower back,

The chest,

The shoulders.

Let it go.

Continuing to breathe as we move our awareness up again through our neck and our head,

Relaxing again your throat,

Your jaw,

Your face.

Feel free to take a swallow to release in your throat if it feels useful.

Can we stay here for a moment just enjoying this beautiful sense of relaxation,

This beautiful short body scan as we get ourselves ready to begin our visualization.

As we move to the visualization,

I invite you to imagine yourself in a safe and comfortable place surrounded by a warm and loving energy.

In this space,

I want you to visualize whatever you need to feel safe as we are about to meet your ideal parents,

The ones who support you in the best way possible.

Now know that these parents don't need to be the ones that you were grown with,

The people that raised you.

These are ideal people.

These are ideal beings.

Allow yourself to be creative.

Allow yourself to put them in whatever shape or form feels best for you.

Let it be magical.

Let it be of another world.

Or let it work with whatever comes through.

And know that in time,

These exercises will feel easier.

So continuing now,

Allowing yourself in the sense of safety to visualize these ideal parents,

Seeing them with clarity.

How do they look?

What kind of energy do they have?

Feel their presence with you as you,

A young child.

Imagine them standing before you radiating a sense of love and acceptance.

Now let's focus on the ideal,

Softer,

Some might say mother energy,

Mother figure.

Imagine this energy with great clarity.

Notice how this mother energy is perfectly attuned to you in every way.

Notice how she makes you feel safe and loved.

See how she is smiling at you,

Offering you a sense of warmth and security.

Let this energy wash over you.

Imagine this great delight in everything this sweet inner child you is doing.

As you navigate and you move,

There is a loving softness,

A holding,

A surrender,

A yin energy that is here to support and love,

To teach you how to be with what is and how to continue to move through there in a place of being purely held and valued for all that you are.

Let those feelings wash over you.

Take a breath.

Next,

Let's visualize this ideal,

Some might call masculine energy,

Some might say father figure,

An energy that teaches us loving discipline,

How to move forward,

How to act,

How to move with our intentions,

How to stand in our power.

Notice how this energy is suited exactly for you,

Perfectly for you.

Notice how does this energy support and nurture you.

Feel this presence,

Feel the love.

Imagine this energy,

This yang energy standing beside your ideal mother,

Your ideal feminine energy,

Your ideal softening parts.

Notice this blend of them both unite in their love and support for you.

Now picture yourself as this young child with your ideal parents and in your ideal location.

Where are you?

What do you need around you to feel how you are connected?

Your parents have everything they need,

These caregivers of yours.

Notice how they interact with each other in a way that shows their deep connection and love for each other and notice how they prioritize your well-being and happiness.

Feel the harmony and the love that surrounds you.

Notice how they are attuned to each of your needs,

How they move,

How they delight in your authentic being.

Now take a moment to imagine the specific ways that your ideal parents make you feel safe.

What do they do that brings you a profound sense of security?

Maybe it's their gentle words,

Their reassuring touch,

Their unwavering presence.

Feel their care and support surround you like a warm protective cocoon.

Visualize the energy of these caregivers as the way you might feel towards a baby animal.

Noticing how cute it is,

How loved it is,

How much grace is given as it learns,

As it trips and falls,

As it learns ways of being.

And let's visualize this energy as these ideal caregivers are giving towards you.

They are attuned to your every mood,

Your every need.

They respond immediately and lovingly to your subtlest changes in emotion.

When you're happy,

They celebrate with you.

When you're sad,

They offer you comfort and understanding.

When you need space,

They give that to you without any feelings of guilt.

When you need connection,

They hold space for you.

Feel their unwavering presence and understanding like a loving embrace.

And imagine how easy it is for you to be completely seen,

Completely understood by these ideal parents.

They consistently and stably offer you emotional regulation and comfort,

Understanding.

Feel their unwavering presence and care like a loving embrace.

Imagine how easy it is for you to be completely seen,

Completely understood by these ideal parents.

They consistently and stably offer you emotional regulation and comfort.

No matter what you're going through,

They are there to hold you and reassure you.

Feel their soothing presence like a gentle,

Gentle,

Calm breeze.

Now focus on the physical aspect of your relationship with your ideal caregivers.

They respond to your needs for physical contact perfectly,

Whether it's closeness or space.

When you need a hug,

They wrap their arms around you.

When you need personal or space,

They respect your boundaries.

Feel their responsiveness to your physical needs,

Always making you feel comfortable and cherished.

Notice how their happiness is tied to your presence.

When they look at you,

Their eyes light up with joy and love.

Their happiness is a direct result of who you are.

Feel their delight in you,

As you are the most precious thing in the world to them.

As a young child,

You will continue,

You will keep growing and exploring the world.

Your ideal caregivers will always be your greatest support,

Unconditionally,

Always there for you,

Always finding the words,

Even if it takes a second.

Imagine yourself growing up with their unwavering support,

Allowing you to be your truest self,

Confident and secure.

Visualize yourself growing up and becoming your best self,

Always supported by your ideal parents.

Feel how their presence empowers you to open up and flourish like a beautiful flower,

Basking in the sunlight.

As a child,

You may encounter moments of upset or distress.

Visualize how these ideal caregivers are soothing and comforting you in the perfect way,

Just how you have always longed for.

Feel their comforting presence like a soft,

Reassuring hug.

If you notice any disconnect,

See how your parents adjust,

How your caregivers adjust for you,

How they bring you relief,

How they are here to nurture and heal you.

Feel their care and understanding.

They help you release any pain or any sadness you are carrying with you.

Continue to immerse yourself in this scene of being cared for by your ideal caregivers.

Know that you can always rely on them to comfort you and support you,

Allowing you to express your needs freely,

Without judgment or fear.

Take a few moments,

Enjoy this sense of being unconditionally loved and supported by your ideal caregivers.

Allow these feelings to wash over you.

Know that this love is always available for you.

Continuing to take a moment,

Taking what you need,

Knowing that each time you visualize and connect with these benevolent,

Loving,

Caring caregivers,

It will get easier and easier to connect.

Taking a moment to take any more of what you need here as we prepare to return ourselves to a present state of awareness.

We thank these ideal parents,

Ideal caregivers.

We thank the space that has held us here,

The land that supports us,

The voices of compassion that lead us.

We thank ourselves for showing up and for giving ourselves a chance to practice feeling as something different.

Practice feeling that innate perfectness that you were born with in your authentic,

Messy,

Human,

Beautiful self.

Breathing in here and breathing out.

As we prepare now to return to your present state of awareness,

Let the scene gradually fade.

Hold onto the love and support you've experienced.

I will begin to count us down from 10 to 1,

And you will slowly awaken,

Feeling fully settled with this experience and carrying the love and support of your ideal caregivers with you.

Bringing in breath.

9,

Breathing.

8,

Maybe allowing a wiggle in your toes and your hands.

7,

Continuing to breathe in this wiggle.

6,

Maybe a stretch as you move yourself out.

5,

Coming back.

4,

Feeling a little bit more.

3,

Going more and more into awareness.

2,

Breathing and moving,

Allowing that awareness to come through.

And 1,

You are now fully awake,

Fully settled.

Take a moment to reflect on this experience,

Notice any changes in your state of mind,

And know you can return to this visualization whenever you need to be loved,

Feel loved,

Supported,

And nurtured by your ideal caregivers.

Remember to look for your kin in the world around you as we have many plant and animal allies.

Remember as the wind is there and the rain and the lightning and the rainbows that sometimes there is energy of support and change that we can't always see.

You are loved and I thank you for showing up for yourself today.
