No one can make you feel inferior,
Without your consent.
It was Eleanor Roosevelt who said that,
A wise woman she was.
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
Close down your eyes,
And before we get started,
I want you to find a comfortable seated position.
One where your spine can feel long and straight,
But not too rigid.
An easy tip for this is to just take a moment,
And consciously move your hips up and forward.
And once you've done that,
Give your back just a little bit of a stretch and a twist.
Give your shoulders a roll,
Bend your neck from side to side,
And allow your hands to rest in your lap,
Feeling your body settle in,
As you take a nice slow deep breath in through the nose,
All the way in as you hold for just a moment,
Enjoying the feeling of all the air and energy in your body,
And exhale,
Noticing the sensations and what it feels like to breathe,
Feeling the temperature of the air,
Maybe it feels cool,
Or perhaps warm.
And on your next inhale,
I want you to pause for just a moment,
Feeling how pausing elevates your heart rate ever so slightly,
And gently release the breath out through the mouth.
And as you are letting go,
Let your shoulders drop,
Pull them down and back,
Away from the ears,
Feeling another slow deep breath in,
And as you are breathing,
Imagine breathing up through the body,
From the tips of your toes all the way to the crown,
Holding for just a few moments in a pause,
And on the exhale,
Imagine the air leaving you in the opposite direction,
Feeling how it flows all the way down from your crown through your toes,
Letting your hands be heavy and soft in your lap,
And now just allow your breath to come back to a natural rhythm,
As you slowly come back to the familiar feeling of how it feels to take care of yourself,
For just a moment or two,
And acknowledging how truly relaxing and inspiring a quick moment of self-care can be.
There's nothing more relaxing than being self-confident.
There is no strain or stress when one is confident in who they are.
Our lack of self-confidence mostly comes from trying to be someone we aren't.
No wonder we do not feel confident when we are living a lie.
When we realize that the best we have to bring to any situation is just being who we are.
We relax.
Our mind relaxes.
Our body relaxes.
When we know what we have to offer to a person or a situation,
Or an opportunity,
We bring it to every situation that comes our way.
It's really all we ever need to do to relax into being who we already are.
We just need to be you.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
And exhale.
Some believe that the most powerful words you can speak to yourself are I am.
Whatever you choose to put after is what creates your entire reality.
We can choose to limit ourselves with the same label.
I am anxious.
I am not good enough.
Or we can choose these same words to expand our realities.
I am a good listener.
I am creative and inspiring to others.
So now it's your turn.
Take another deep belly breath in,
And exhale.
And take a few quiet moments to finish the sentence.
I am.
I encourage you to be different.
To be eccentric.
To be bold.
To be you.
Take a final deep breath in,
Sealing up this practice deep into your heart,
And exhale.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
