Bless You, Mother God (a Christian Meditative Prayer)

A simple meditation acknowledging and offering praise for God as being our Mother as well as being our Father. Prayerfully, we celebrate and give thanks for the feminine in our lives, recognising the power and majesty of its many gifts. Welcome and give thanks for the feminine and the masculine in our ourselves and in the all-embracing Nature of Our wonderful God.

Opening to a conversation with God.

This meditation,

This conversation,

This prayer is intended for those of the Christian tradition.

But for some,

This may feel a little unfamiliar.

As we so often address God as our Father.

As indeed He is.

Our Father in Heaven.

Our Father,

The Provider,

The Creator,

The Almighty.

That is everywhere.

And God's Spirit fills the hearts of men and women.

God is our Mother too.

One who nurtures,

Protects,

Heals.

Inspires us to create,

To evolve,

To give birth.

One who is gentle,

One who is gracious.

One who makes their presence known through great women as well as through great men.

One who makes their presence known through those who are humble.

Who come to serve,

Who come to teach,

To guide.

One who is present in those who care for others.

Whose sacrifices are beyond measure.

May we recall some of the great examples of feminine,

Divine power in our tradition.

Esther,

Ruth,

Sarah,

And the Marys.

Mary,

The Mary the sister.

Mary,

The faithful disciple,

Whose love is unconditional.

Father God,

Our Friend in Heaven.

Our Lord,

Teach us to embrace the gifts of masculine and feminine.

To know what you will have us express in our lives as we manifest your beauty and glory.

That fire within us.

Guide us by your Spirit.

Show us the way through your Son and through your many daughters.

Thank you.

We offer this prayer in the name of our Lord and Saviour.

Our precious Lord Jesus Christ.
