This is a meditation for actors to visualize success getting into the training program of their dreams.
Find a comfortable seat.
Let your spine lengthen.
Your hips and your sitting bones soften.
Really connect to wherever you've decided to rest in this moment.
Feel the support of the chair.
As you allow your shoulders to fall.
Gently down your back.
Massage underneath your jaw.
Take a yawn.
Just to soften your cheeks.
Raise your eyebrows and let them fall,
Noticing any tension in your forehead.
Between your eyebrows.
Your temples.
.
.
And your eyelids and behind your eyes.
Can you allow your face to feel like it's melting?
Dissolving.
Bringing your attention down to your neck.
Maybe you want to roll your neck from side to side.
Take any last stretches as you get settled in.
Be stretching out your fingers and clenching your fists.
And as you release that noticing,
How it feels to go from activity to stillness.
Your next breath in,
Exhale with a gentle,
Audible sigh.
Huh.
This lets the body know I am here in this moment.
It is okay to let go.
Noticing where your attention went.
If it went inward,
Or if you feel a bit distracted by the environment around you.
Notice the sensation of the air on your skin.
Noticing your skin as the border between you and everything else.
Noticing the way that your breath moves in and out effortlessly.
Where do you feel your breath?
Is it in the expanding of your ribcage?
Arise and fall of your belly.
Or even the sensation of air as it enters in your nostrils.
We'll do a quick breath practice together just to help you down regulate even more.
Breathe in for one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Out for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
You can just take a natural breath in and out.
We'll do that pattern again two more times.
On your next breath in for one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
Two,
Out,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
In one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold one,
Two,
Out one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
3,
4,
5,
6.
If you'd like to keep going with this,
It's inhaling for 4,
Holding the breath for 2,
Exhaling for 6.
Just do it a few more times in your own rhythm.
Or if it feels better for you,
You're welcome to return to a natural breath.
If you feel any anxiousness.
Allow it to be here.
Acknowledge what it's showing you.
Of course,
I feel anxious because I care.
See if you can invite love into the room alongside the anxiousness.
Or maybe when the anxiousness drops its mask,
It is love.
Now we'll begin the visualization.
You are welcome.
To follow the cue of my words,
Or to allow the words to simply wash over you as you go on your own journey.
Trust that whatever path you are led down in this meditation is the one that is meant for you.
I want you to imagine yourself as the you who is already in training.
I've already been accepted.
You are already thriving.
See your posture.
Notice how you breathe.
How you hold a room.
How grounded you feel in yourself.
How clear you are that this is exactly where you are meant to be.
Let this presence settle into you now.
As if you've just put on a coat.
And it was made for you.
Now.
Picture the audition day.
Who are you on this day?
How can you be more authentically you?
Grounded.
Embodied.
Joy.
See yourself walking into the building.
Curiosity.
Excitement.
Confidence.
I belong here.
I belong here.
I belong here.
Picture yourself entering the audition room when your name is called.
You present your two pieces.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Knocked.
With your character.
What has just happened?
Right before this monologue.
As you deliver the monologue,
Feel yourself.
Drawing from the energy that is within you.
Responding in the moment to how it feels to connect with these words and the experience.
Your breath,
Your impulses,
And the text.
Are alive within you.
You're playing.
You're responding.
You're creating.
You repeat this for your next monologues.
You are not acting,
You are becoming.
And when you are finished.
You see that what you have presented has landed with this panel.
They ask to see another piece.
And you give it to them.
You connect with a third character.
And you show them something they haven't seen from you yet.
And they love it.
You are who they have been waiting to see all day.
When they give you direction,
You take it and incorporate it easily.
And they are pleased.
They want more.
More of you.
They want to know who you are and you tell them.
You may get all the way to the final end of day callbacks.
And you know.
This is only the beginning.
The end of the day when you leave the building again,
You leave with the confidence that you will be back.
You will be invited to call back weekend.
Where you will meet.
Your future peers.
At the end of the day,
Feel how it feels to have given it all.
All of you.
All of the emotion.
Story and experience that you have to share with the world.
Feel again what it feels like to be the you who has already been accepted,
Who is already in training.
Because you are the same.
Savor these last few moments with this visualization,
This embodied feeling of being you.
Radiant and alive.
As you let the visualization dissolve.
Come back into your body.
Feel what it feels like to be on the inside of your skin.
If you'd like,
You can place a hand on your heart or your belly or one on each.
And repeat these words.
I am prepared.
I am connected.
I am talented.
I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Draw your attention back to your breath.
Wherever you sense it in your body.
Take a deep breath in.
And an audible sigh to release.
Thank you for making the time Bee.
More you.
Whenever you are ready.
You are free.
To reintegrate back into your day.
