Hello,
I'm Claire and this meditation for you uses the freeing quality of birds in flight to help you let go.
It can be useful for anything you are holding onto,
Whether an emotion,
A repeated thought,
A memory or a worry.
As we practice we will be letting go of the emotion attached to the issue.
The issue may be a big boulder in your heart and mind and it may be a minor irritation.
Anything which is interrupting the free flow of your easy mind and heart.
You may choose to work with one issue over this whole meditation or try lots of little ones.
Please trust your subconscious to bring to mind exactly what it needs to focus on at the time.
They are all connected.
When we let go of the little things the bigger issues are softened.
When we let go of the big things the little things can fade altogether.
I invite you to trust and let the imagery do the work.
Your inner self knows what it needs.
Making sure you are comfortable and safe whether sitting or lying,
I invite you to gently shut your eyes.
Allow your attention to fall softly back into your body as if through your eye sockets and spend a moment bringing your focus,
Attention and intention into the interior of your body.
Breathing in and out in your own time.
Literally noticing the pressure of your body where it connects to the ground feeling supported.
Aware of the space over your head feeling the expansion.
Coming into the here and now with your breath.
I invite you to imagine sitting somewhere comfortable in nature by a lake or bay known or imaginary.
There are many birds,
Whole flocks of geese,
Some waders,
Perhaps a kingfisher or other solitary birds and because this is a magic space there may be other birds you wouldn't normally see there like an eagle or an owl.
Enjoy the sights,
The sounds,
The colors of this beautiful scene.
As you sit allow your subconscious to bring to mind something you would like to let go of.
Anything.
Anything.
Notice the emotion attached to that thing whether it's frustration,
Fear,
Sadness or anger,
Perhaps betrayal,
Guilt or shame.
Just allow one thing you would like to let go of that is bothering you,
Your mind or your heart.
Notice the emotion attached to it.
Then seeing one of the birds take off and rise into the sky,
Taking with it your issue and the emotion.
Seeing one of the birds taking off and rising into the sky,
Taking your issue and emotion with it.
Rising higher and higher into the sky until it disappears into the ethers.
Then when you are ready you can send the same or another issue with its emotion into the skies on the wings of a bird.
Allow bird after bird to rise,
Taking your tightness with them.
Letting go.
Letting go.
And when you are ready see a whole flock rising into the skies.
See them take your holding with them,
With the strength of a skein of beautiful geese flying into the distance onwards.
When you're ready seeing a whole flock rising into the skies,
Taking with them your holding on like a skein of geese.
Those beautiful V's,
Skein after skein of geese,
Taking your holding on with them away to the horizon,
Away to the distance,
Away and disappearing.
Letting go.
Letting go.
You may want to imagine getting up and walking around enjoying the scene but then when you're ready another or the same issue with its emotion rises up and away.
Take all the time you need,
Pausing this if you want.
And now coming back to your body and your breath,
Enjoying the softening,
Enjoying the ease of letting go,
Enjoying coming back to your body.
And as I bring this practice to an end know that the wings of the birds are there for you whenever you need them.
