I'm Reverend Cindy Palos and I want to talk about God.
You know it's interesting,
A lot of people who meditate do not want to talk about God and I think there's some real things that have to be discussed about that.
I understand all the values of all kinds of meditation,
I understand the value of all kinds of spiritual paths,
However many many people now just want to relax their body and be mindful and aware of their body and that has wonderful value.
But there is a very wonderful blessed value in understanding in meditation how you can connect to God and you can do that in a mystical form of meditation.
And I have to bring out some subjects that are coming up that I hear people say these days and some people are very angry at God.
They're saying if there's a God how could God let all of these bad things happen?
Now this question has been there forever.
I mean I you know it's the same question people ask about World War II,
About what happened when anything bad happens to a good person.
How could God let this happen?
And there's so much misunderstanding about that and of course when we see these very troubling times this same question has come up and many people who said well I kind of believed in God or I thought God was there but then when I see this happening I'm going there can't be a God or God wouldn't let these bad things happen.
And so if I were to say God is good all the time people are going well if God is good how can these bad things be happening?
So it's a very deep subject and a controversial subject and I know a lot of people won't want to go there but I feel there was this inner urging to address this situation and it comes down basically to people's misunderstanding of God.
God isn't a father image with the long white beard somewhere up in the sky deciding to do good and bad things to people and I know there's been a lot of paintings that show God is that but that has caused a lot of problems for people because God is an energy field.
God is the source of all energy fields.
God is the energy of love created here on earth made manifest in form.
God is at our very essence of our self,
Our soul,
Our heart,
Our mind,
Our being,
Our love,
Our creation and we are co-creating here on earth with God but we have free will.
We have this energy field here on this earth where we can create our dreams and there are many people who misuse this energy force and have sometimes chosen to actually consciously misuse this energy force but that's not God.
Those are the people doing what they want to do that is not God's will.
That's their own will,
Creating these things and God does not create things that are gonna harm people except for the creation of people and people having free will can do harm as we very much have seen over the many many years and throughout time there's been this lesson we've learned of times where things that seemed terrible happened but we get out of that time and we get past that time and we learn more but when times are tough and hard like they are right now this is the time really we need to look inside and have more of us working for the good of all,
For the good of humanity,
For the good of God and it's it's like a time we hear this clarion call to do more to help.
I have some great quotes here that I wanted to share and some of them I think you might be able to relate to.
Some might even surprise you about God.
John Lennon said,
I believe in God but not as one thing,
Not as an old man in the sky.
I believe what people call God is something in all of us.
I believe that what Jesus and Muhammad and Buddha and all the rest said was right.
It's just that the translations have gone wrong and there's so much truth in that and I mean I am a practicing Zen Buddhist who believes in God and people say how can you be a Buddhist because Buddhists don't believe in God.
Well I have done research on this and there's this thing this energy field again we get into definition and understandings but even it's only it's a Dalai Lama who said well it's a matter of how you define God right.
There is this energy field that we all exist in and that's the energy field that when I go into meditation I turn to and this energy field,
This highest consciousness,
The consciousness of the Creator is there within each one of us.
We couldn't have exist without that connection to this force of energy that is there in our minds,
Our souls,
Our hearts.
Our very very inner essence is connected to God and when you experience as you can in meditation the truth of how powerful,
How loving,
How full of light this energy field of God is,
You understand that God is good all the time and when you see hard times like we've been seeing you feel that you need to express that love and that goodness in any way possible because now more than ever it is needed and there is this thing with the opposites with dark and light and when there are more people working to bring in more love and light and that energy of positive energy there's also the opposite side of the coin there are more people that are out there as well working for things that are not the light so we have this we have this these the light in the shadow the dark and the light and in a way in the times of World War two and the times like we're existing now where there are more challenges you'll see that strangely enough more people are praying more people are meditating more people are trying to reach inside and find answers and it's a difficult conundrum it was like why do we need to have difficulties to overcome to turn inside and pray and to look for answers but there is something in our psyches that don't pray until we feel we need to have a reason to pray for help and so at those times it's more important than ever to be able to turn within and find that energy now as John Lennon said there are many teachers there are many teachers there's many masters I am a Buddhist and I am a mystic Christian and I believe in Christ and I have experienced that amazing powerful love that is there in Christ consciousness that a few masters have held but Jesus Christ brought himself to the earth to as an example of how we can practice some of the basic sacred tools of how to live it Buddha came and showed us how we can be enlightened and he knew that there was these this path of suffering and that the earth was full of suffering but that when we were enlightened we can actually see and get past that karmic wheel and see the truth of the light inside and that enlightenment helps free us of that karma of suffering all of the teachers and masters have given us so much to learn and I have a nothing but gratitude for all of the great teachers who many of them had to sacrifice their life to try to share their wisdom with us now we don't have to do that now but it does take a lot to feel the strength inside to express that goodness of God when people are feeling that that is something that's betraying them right now and all I can say is you are not being betrayed by God God is good and you can turn to that goodness and now more than ever you need to turn within and connect to that powerful field of energy and love and experience that God consciousness and that union with the highest consciousness now you can call it the source you can call it the ultimate resource you can call it the Creator you can call it whatever you want there's many people that have so many issues with the word God they can't even express it and say it and there's even more so people that have an issue with mentioning Christ in Jesus Christ but it really isn't supposed to be that way that is something that man has made to separate and to use religions for their own purposes on the inner levels that is not the way it is and the highest levels these teachers these wonderful masters work with us and help us I've had experiences with Mother Mary with Christ with Buddha and I have to tell you there's nothing but good energy there there's nothing but love and forgiveness and light there we bring and project our own problems and ills upon that energy field but that isn't what is at the heart of it I wrote the heartbeat of love I want to share with you this one listen listen to the symphony of life for if you listen you can hear the heartbeat alive in each blessed breath of light and the love that feeds it and its presence right here you can tune in to the pulse of humanity as it vibrates with each frequency that's so clear the earth is speaking to us in each moment through the water and the oceans through the air and through all the creatures living here if you listen you can hear the music of the universe the music alive in the energy throughout all of the spheres you can hear the heartbeat of the cosmos as it dances through dark and light each stars song is alive with its own destiny in all of life and the Masters answer our prayers although sometimes it's hard to tell but if we rest our head upon that spirit of the heartbeat in the chest we may hear the heartbeat of universal love brilliant symphonies of life sound forth sweet callings of each and every single breath merge as with the harmony of the universe the songs of life play so listen listen for God's energy as it speaks freely and blessings that abound in the heartbeat of the symphony of sounds alive in us as the music of love God is this power of love and if you really look at the truth of this that energy that God is within us Alan Watts said Jesus Christ knew he was God so wake up and find out eventually who you really are in our culture of course they'll say you're crazy and you're blasphemous and they'll either put you in jail or in a nut house which is pretty much the same thing however if you wake up in India and tell your friends and relations my goodness I've just discovered that I'm God they'll laugh and say oh congratulations at last you found out and when we think about this that we have that blessed energy that energy of that God consciousness right inside us it's just such a gift it's very very powerful so let's take some time to connect with that good energy which we all need that God energy and take some very deep breaths in and yes let's sense our body and be aware of anything here in our body that might be calling out to be heard because our body is a reflection of God and recognize this temple you have that's been given to you and give it some love by breathing in love and breathing out throughout every single cell of your body this wonderful energy of love expressed in you let's breathe in the beautiful gift of light let's align with this one power that is God God's light within us breathing in that light and allowing that light to penetrate every single part of our mind of our body of our emotions and let's see that energy field that's within our heart and that heart within our heart where God's energy of love dwells call upon that energy of your heart of hearts allow this energy of pure love unconditional love to be aware and alive and you to have its own ability to reach out to you and allow yourself to feel that energy that energy field of love as this beautiful field of light that you can now extend out from your heart to all around you see your whole body encapsulated six feet or more out in light a protective wonderful light that is that light from the source of all light and now allow yourself to go from your very heart into your soul of souls that beautiful spark that is from that light in your soul that is part of pure spirit call upon that light call upon that energy ask that presence of God's spirit of light to be with you right now and feel the energy of pure light enlightening you right now right now do not wait do not doubt do not fear embrace the light of God that you are feel that power of that light enlightening you right now feel yourself aligning and merging with the source of all light and all love that God consciousness that's held by Christ consciousness that's held in enlightenment take some time right now to be still and know that you are God breathe in that energy of your God consciousness and allow it to come into all of you allow it to clarify anything you need to be cleared allow it to purify anything that needs to be cleansed allow it to heal anything that needs to be forgiven and healed and realize as you're doing this every single being on this planet has that same energy within them and we can connect with all energy fields for we truly are one from that same source of God's light and love all living our own individual dreams and allow God's love and light to bring you also the power of God's will so you can be aligned with that true purpose you came here for just allow yourself to feel God's goodness right now allow it to completely remove any negative feelings any darkness and just dwell in that light that pure light of being the I am that I am breathe it in breathe it out breathe it in hold it hold it and breathe it out allow yourself now to send that energy that you are out to anyone that might need that love and that light send it to your loved ones send it to any of the areas of the world that you know may need some light and love see the whole world surrounded by a network of light and love and let that light and love pour down upon all beings on this planet and let it encircle the whole world with a loving energy the love of God and now allow this love to come back to your heart of hearts and feel that connection to the oneness of all and be grateful for your life for your connection to God recognize that you are a pure being of light and love and God's energy and form and give great thanks for the opportunity of this precious life and the experience of being here now
