The Creative Force Within
You can learn to open the creative force and channel the energy in your work. Artists, writers, and musicians all use this process. By being aware of the way this process works, you can amplify the inner connection from which it comes.

Aloha.
I'm Rev.
Cindy Pollos,
And I wanted to talk today about the power of focusing.
I had a wonderful teacher when I was back in Madrigals at Beverly Hills High School,
Dr.
Holmes.
And before we started every piece,
He would say to the group of children there,
Everyone,
Focus.
And it was such an amazing gift to be able to focus.
And I have since done studies and read about the power of focusing.
And the thing about focusing is it's having that clarity to be able to be 100% where you wish your mind to create from.
And I had found,
An interesting fact about this,
That it took time over time to realize that your focus changes depending on where your mind is set.
It's not like one universal channel of focusing.
There's other things.
If you're focusing on a very high intent with a great purpose that you truly believe in,
Then that focus changes its energy field as well.
And this is,
I think,
A wonderful thing to explore and to really take advantage of,
Because a lot of times we do things automatically without really stopping and taking that time to consider the way we wish to create and the way we want to get messages across.
And there's lots of people that have now written books about this and done studies on this,
But I don't know how many have really tied into the fact that when you have a powerful connection to your inner self and your higher self and your soul,
That your focus takes on a higher level of energy as well.
Because where you come from in what you're focusing on,
Where you come from and where you're going is like a whole different level,
Truly a whole different level of experience.
Now,
I think this is a wonderful gift,
Because what if you were focusing on a movie that was really dangerous or bad or full of anger and upset?
You certainly wouldn't want that to direct your life or seep into all parts of your consciousness.
But if you are creating,
And I love creating,
If you're creating and you're tying into that a higher level of what you're creating,
I found it to be very,
Very different.
I find this especially because I work on doing albums and I create new music,
And I find that when I'm doing that or for a project that is trying to create a certain theme,
A certain poem,
A certain music,
That that energy is very different than other kind of energy.
And it's so beautiful.
I think that sometimes we see people that are really,
Really into and believing in what they're doing,
They completely lose track of time.
I know some people that get into really important projects and they can work for hours and not even know that it was like how much time has passed.
It's that zone,
You know,
You get into a zone that kind of carries you to that from the wonderful original object or thought that was conceived to the creation of it.
And once you're in it,
It's like it has a wonderful gift that takes you along.
I've talked to wonderful writers who have said that this is what happens when they're writing a book.
And sometimes they begin,
They don't know,
You know,
The different ways it's going to fall into place.
But once they start,
Then there's all this other amazing gift that comes with the creation of that book.
Now,
I've known the same with artists who start to work on a project and they may have a blank canvas.
And sometimes that blank canvas will sit there until they have something that inspires them,
Right?
Inspires them to start the work of creation.
And I find this with when I write poetry.
I write every morning,
I write a message down,
A poem.
And I sometimes don't even know the first words I'm going to write.
But once you start,
It takes on its way of communicating with you.
And if you tune in and you concentrate and you explore and go into that flow of that creation,
It will direct you.
And I can see the difference,
You know,
When I'm in that flow of creating.
I'm sure you probably can too.
So this is a wonderful thing about creation.
It's a wonderful thing about how you can tune into that high level of energy to focus on what you wish to create and the energy you wish to create it with.
Now,
The interesting thing about this,
I'll tie into how that works with writing sometimes.
So I can write something in that flow,
But then it's like,
Oh gosh,
Now I have to go back and edit it.
Now it's a little different energy editing than it is creating.
And so the focus kind of has to switch in editing to the more,
I don't know,
It's not necessarily negative,
But the part of the mind that will find mistakes or try to,
You know,
Make something better.
That's different than the energy I find,
Definitely different than the energy of what happens when you originally are creating.
So that's another amazing gift that you can learn to try to stay positive and stay objective while you have to improve upon what you created.
It's very,
Very,
I mean,
We're talking about subtle things you may not necessarily think of.
Many people I know who create don't even think about this.
It's just,
It takes over as the process.
But if you are conscious and you are aware and you do tap into it,
I think you have even more power to work with that,
That consciousness,
That awareness of,
Oh,
This is there.
I'm going to go here.
I'm going to get that.
And that's going to come this way.
And then there's going to be the process that I'm going to do editing and editing.
We'll have that one.
You know,
It's a beautiful process that we go through.
That's so important to tap into.
Now,
If you don't understand it,
You might find a block because you don't understand,
Oh,
That's part of that process,
Right?
I need to work through this because of that.
So it is valuable to learn to work with that process and really go into that place of creation,
That place,
That wonderful place of creation,
And be able to go with the flow of it with 100% commitment,
You know,
And also being open,
Open to believing.
I mean,
If you were to stop every time you got something,
If you were to stop and examine it at the wrong time,
In other words,
That process that you go through when you edit,
If you were to do that when you were writing,
It might stop that flow,
Right?
I mean,
You certainly could put that in the creative process.
I want to do this with this in mind,
You know,
And then see if that affects it.
But,
You know,
There's a reason.
There's a reason that things work in the way that they do,
And you learn to love it.
You learn to find that that is kind of a way of feeding this creative energy.
It's like an unbelievably delicious meal that you learn to appreciate and love.
And it's sometimes mind-blowing,
You know,
When you get it,
You know,
And you look at it afterwards and go,
Wow,
I didn't know I was doing that.
That's pretty interesting.
And sometimes you also find that other people are resonating,
I love that word as well,
Resonating with that energy field and understand that because that's what they've been going through.
That's the key they were looking for.
And that process is another beautiful thing.
So,
You know,
Really people that might create amazingly popular creations of whether it be a book or music or whatever,
They're reflecting some parts of other people that resonate a lot with what they're creating.
So you have to determine if that's what's most important to you to find out what is going to be popular versus what is really coming to you from your soul.
And there's an interesting,
I find when I do explore this,
That there are people that have learned to couch,
To be able to create certain things,
Music or movies or things like that with messages that are very acceptable in other ways you normally wouldn't think of.
There are people that become very good at doing that and can get beautiful,
Powerful messages out in a subject that would normally be something you wouldn't think of as being out of the ordinary.
So this is a big,
It's a big subject.
It's really big.
So it's worth pondering and it's worth,
You know,
Just sitting with it and it's worth just opening that doorway and leaving that doorway to create a beautiful,
Creative process comes.
And if you do take time to just sit with it and to be with it,
You will find interesting things happen.
Now for me,
What I find is that I always meditate first.
Okay,
I go into meditation in the morning and I set it for about one hour and eight minutes and sometimes something comes to me in the middle of the meditation and those little beautiful gifts can sometimes be elusive.
So if that comes to me in the middle of meditation,
I go,
Okay,
I'm going to write now because I get it and that's also part of the process of meditation.
But I do recommend taking that beautiful,
Precious time to meditate.
That time you go within and you open that doorway to your highest self,
To your soul,
To God within and then connect with that and leave that.
And kind of,
It's like opening a doorway.
It's like opening a wonderful new higher level and then allow that energy to just flow from that place down into you.
Now,
My meditations are long and a lot of them are very quiet,
So I'm not going to do that right now,
But I am going to ask you to take the time to do that,
To breathe,
To sit there,
To open that door,
To believe that you will connect with that highest source,
To connect with that highest source and to feel that beautiful flow of energy that comes from that beautiful source within.
I send you my deepest love and blessings.
That beautiful gift of creation is alive in you always.
