Spiritual Tools For A Better Life
A talk about how you can be guided from your meditations. I explain how I have done many talks on InsightTimer and have created a book based on many very important topics we need to make our life better. I also talk about an enlightenment experience I had when I was 15 and how it changed my life. There are so many spiritual tools available for us to use in life, I go over some of the ones I'm learning about.

Aloha.
Hey,
It's my turn to host today.
And I'm going to turn the tables a little bit on the wonderful Cindy Palos.
Welcome,
Cindy.
Aloha,
My friend.
How are you doing?
I'm doing well.
And it's a beautiful weekend.
And so glad to be with you and talking about your amazing projects today.
There's many.
I know we're going to focus on one for now.
Okay.
There's been so many that came all at once.
It was like an abundance of blessings.
It's like,
Wow,
Okay.
But yes,
Today,
I guess we'll just focus on my new book.
Right,
The new book.
And then we'll,
We'll give a little hint as to what's to come next.
But as you all know,
Reverend Cindy Palos is a DJ,
Author,
Speaker,
Metaphysical minister,
Artist,
Composer,
Lyricist,
Author,
And travel agent.
So you all know her travel show,
I'm sure she's traveled extensively throughout the world.
And she's had what 12 CDs,
Cindy and seven books now.
Well,
One's coming out within a week or two.
And my seventh book just came out.
And I'm including on that some audio books.
I don't know quite how you count audio books that I have one,
Two,
I have two audio books,
Two audio books.
Yeah.
Well,
I know there's a plethora of resources in Amazon.
That's usually where I find it easiest just to go to Amazon search,
Cindy Palos,
And boom,
It's all there.
Right?
Yes.
You know,
I think that the audience has a little bit of your background,
But I'd love to hear a little bit more about your original enlightenment experience that you talk about here in your bio which happened when you were at Beverly Hills high school years ago.
It was a strange dichotomy.
You know,
I was just in love with reading all these amazing mystical books,
Alan Watts,
The joyous cosmology.
I started meditating after my father died.
My mother had that experience where he came to her in spirit three days after he died,
He kissed her on the forehead and said,
There is a forever,
Which is the title of my first CD.
And from that,
My mother decided to explore life after death.
She took me with her at the age of 13 to some classes by Dr.
Paul masters.
And I started reading.
It was like this huge doorway opened this key to all these understandings of what's beyond what I might have understood.
And it just changed my life.
I started reading everything and,
Oh,
You can imagine going to Beverly Hills high school and trying to tell these people about all this stuff.
They didn't want to hear it.
It's like,
I was like,
What new clothes did you get?
No,
No,
I had this experience.
It's like,
I was on a different page.
But when I was 15,
Actually,
I was sitting outside my house.
We had a rather large house,
An eight bedroom house.
My father was a structural engineer and architect and he designed it.
And I was sitting outside my house and all of a sudden just something came over me and I literally closed off my body felt my chakras all lock.
And I literally left my body and I went out of my body and saw myself out of my body.
And I kept going and I saw the world out of my,
Out of my planet.
I looked down on the world.
I went through these astral planes where you can experience life after death.
And I went on to experience mental planes where there's geometrics and answers to every question you can imagine.
And I kept going and I literally had this experience of union with God that was so full of so much love,
So much light,
This light that's brighter than a million suns and this love unconditional love.
I've never experienced anything like that since.
So people don't understand.
I have so many people say,
I don't know about God.
And it's like,
Yeah,
Of course you don't.
But if you did,
If you could experience that love,
That gift of the greatest love of all.
And I came back and I literally saw things different.
I saw auras.
I saw my colors and the world differently.
Everything was brighter and I couldn't talk about it for a while.
I literally didn't want to talk for a few days.
And I thought I better not talk about this much because people aren't going to believe it.
Right.
I kept it quiet for a long time,
But it influenced and changed my life.
Totally.
That's incredible.
And what a gift.
I have to say that I've had a similar experience,
But mine was in sleep time.
It wasn't in waking time.
And it was much later in my life.
It was in my,
I think my late twenties and I had already experienced,
You know,
A lot of living by that point and highs and lows.
And I did see it immediately as a gift.
But I wanted to ask you if,
If you had a period like I did of once I woke up,
I was actually sort of so overwhelmed and sad.
I,
I didn't want to leave there.
You know,
I almost wanted to stay there.
And I also went through a period of depression in,
In knowing that that is there,
But I have to stay here and do my work,
You know?
So did you have anything like that afterwards?
And it's interesting.
I have been so happy to see so many people with near death experiences now come forth.
And I,
I feel like exactly what I experienced is what a lot of them are talking about near death experiences.
Although I think I went on to a higher different point when I went into the mental planes in union with God,
But beginning stages are like near death experiences.
And when I came back,
All I wanted to do,
And I actually felt like I had a choice.
At one point I was asked,
Do you want to come back or do you want to stay?
And I didn't want to come back.
But at the same time,
When I had seen the planet so full of darkness and so full of shadows that I felt I was obligated to come back and tell people,
Gosh,
This there's this amazing thing out there.
But then when you come back,
You want to go back.
And,
And so I did that.
And I had so many blissful states of meditation afterwards that I kind of got into just being addicted to the bliss of meditation.
And then it became very clear that like,
Okay,
That's,
You said you want to come back.
You've got to be here now.
You can't just escape.
You've got to put it to practice.
So I know exactly what you're saying.
But again,
It's just like anyone that has a heavy experience,
Even if it was on acid or something,
They'll realize sooner or later that acid experience,
You can't go chasing after it.
If you get what you need and you come back and you're supposed to use it.
And a lot of people never understood that.
It's easy on drugs.
We're here to put into practice,
Right?
So you know,
You finally channeled that energy,
Didn't you,
And you went to your work or your life?
Well,
I do.
I don't know if I've been completely unselfish with it.
I do reflect on it as a place to calm myself and to bring myself back to that feeling of bliss and in meditation,
Although I don't meditate as often as you do.
So I would ask you,
Do you find that for people who would like to maybe experience this or get to that point,
Do you find that more regular meditation is a primer,
Kind of a way that maybe they'll get there,
Even though I did it unwittingly,
You might've as well,
But do you think meditation is a path?
I think meditation has been for me,
The biggest key and the most valuable thing in my life.
And I would recommend it for everyone.
And I'm not even trying to get to blissful States anymore.
I'm just trying to make that interconnection and all of my writings.
And I've written every time I've meditated and I meditate every day since I was 13,
All of what I meditate.
And then I get messages for have come from meditation.
And there's been times in meditation and going,
Well,
There's nothing there.
I don't know.
Should I really write anything down?
But I've learned you still write.
And sometimes I've had these amazing,
Amazing gifts come from spirit that I didn't even know were there.
But when that's part of your process of the habit of meditating,
Making that interconnection,
It's so valuable.
And I highly recommend insight timer.
Yeah.
Insight timer app is free,
Or you can do the paid version.
And I have about over 50 meditations that I've done there.
In fact,
This new book,
Spiritual toolbox,
Your for better living spiritual tools for a better life,
Spiritual tools for a better life are all,
All of the chapters in there are from talks that I've given on insight timer.
And I just decided after about 50 of them,
I take 30 and I took the 30 talks MP3s.
I uploaded them to a site called scribey,
S-c-r-i-b-i-e.
Com.
You have two choices.
You can have the expensive version with this manual or the automatic.
I tried to save money.
I did the automatic.
You have to edit everything down.
It seems so easy at the idea,
But the editing and this,
When you do it that way,
It's very,
Very easy to get it right.
So it took a couple of times of editing to get,
Make sure it made sense.
I found out you talk very differently than you write.
And,
And I realized that I was like,
That was not what I meant.
Really.
I meant this.
So I had to go back,
But it is out now on Amazon.
I did it as a Kindle book and a paperback,
And I'm probably going to take some of those audio.
So most of them I kept and make an audio book out of them as well.
But you know,
The audio audible has very strict guidelines and I didn't really,
When I was recording them for insight timer,
Go about that.
I love your voice on these meditations.
They're really so calming.
And yet there's a beautiful confidence that you have in guiding that meditation too,
Which I really like.
I wanted to read something that some folks have said about your,
Your book,
Spiritual tools for a better life.
Activate your awakening is the sub sub head,
I guess you would say.
Cindy's book is filled with the practical aspects of an awakened life and most importantly,
How to get there.
And that sounds great.
What a tool.
This is the book that may be on your bedside table.
So much wisdom.
So well described what a lovely invitation from the divine for all of us to deepen our practice.
So those are some really nice.
I've been very blessed to have some wonderful spiritual friends.
And that's why I think when I put it out in the beginning,
It became number one in,
In Kindle mystic and spiritual category.
I was so glad there was a mystic and spiritual.
I'd never seen that before.
It was like,
I didn't know there was a mystic and spiritual category,
But that's awesome.
My process of meditation is really the mystical one,
Which is you make that interconnection to your higher self and to God and all the messages that came through.
And there are messages as well as you can call them quote unquote poems have actually been lessons from me,
Things in my life I needed to hear.
So by writing this,
I don't want anyone to think I've mastered all these things.
Some of these things like harmlessness is one of the subjects.
And so many of these things I have chapters about can take a lifetime of practice to do.
Oh,
Absolutely.
And,
And again,
The tools,
You know sort of learning about the value of writing things down,
Because what you may have been given as a gift today,
You might not realize until you see it later and it makes more sense.
So you can go back over your notes over your dream notes,
You know,
Bedside or awaken meditation,
Whatever it might be.
And things will probably prompt you in a new way once you have more life experience to understand it.
And I have in each chapter,
The same process I do in most of my talks,
I have a talk,
Then I have a poem or two,
And then I have a meditation.
Because what happens is when you read something or you're thinking about something,
You're laying a seed,
A groundwork there in your field of consciousness.
And then if you go into meditation,
You allow it to grow,
You allow it to also expand to your higher self to aid to making whatever you need to work on,
Get activated.
That's why I said activate your awareness.
Because through meditation and going into our higher self and connecting with our soul,
That activated,
It's so interesting.
Every morning,
I have certain things I read in my prayers.
But reading something isn't the same as actually doing something.
So I've learned to not just read it,
But maybe say it out loud and not take it from just my head.
But as I'm reading it,
Move it down into my heart and my soul.
And I have found there's a huge difference between just skimming over and reading something.
We're also overwhelmed with so much reading and social media.
But if you take it instead,
Actually read with your heart and move it and take that energy of what you read into your heart,
That helps to activate it in your life.
Yeah,
I agree.
And I'm a big advocate of saying it out loud to God or the universe or whatever it is you believe in as well.
And then you feel it resonating too,
As you're saying it out loud and it brings it to life and into your desire in a different way as well.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
And when we get busy,
And aren't we all kind of busy?
I know how busy you are,
Beth,
You do so much.
And I am too.
If we take the time to read it,
We're not trying to hurry through it as much because actually speaking it takes more than actually reading it.
We can read pretty quickly,
But then that can be a problem because we're just reading quickly,
Allowing it to take.
Yeah,
That's a great point because it's getting things at a glance when you're reading,
You sort of get the gist of it,
But when you have to say it word by word,
You're really owning each word that you're putting out there.
Yeah.
And it's been very interesting in the same way.
I love making CDs and with the 12 of them,
But I write it and it's one thing to write lyrics and it's another to have music and arrangements.
And again,
That's why I love making these CDs.
Some of these words that it might've just been something I got one day that would have been literally slipped away in who knows where,
Maybe in my notes on my iPhone somewhere,
But once it's taken and has music behind it and an arrangement behind it,
All of a sudden it's got wings.
It's given this new life.
And I just love that energy of allowing a song to take flight with some words that I have gotten.
And that's what I'm finding out with my new CD in the hands of God.
I'm finding when I listened back now,
It's like,
Wow,
I didn't even know what I was writing maybe at the time and the impact it would have.
But when I listened to it back as a song,
Oh my gosh,
It's got this whole new spiritual uplifting feeling.
Yeah,
It really soars.
I've been enjoying the album and thank you for the early download.
So I know that we're talking about the book.
We don't want to go too much into the CD yet.
Can we revisit that another time closer to the date?
Absolutely.
It's going to be out soon,
Coming soon.
But what I love about the timing too,
Is what you talked about earlier today is that your first experience was after your dad died.
And now this new CD was also a gift from a family member,
Which was very touching.
Absolutely.
And I have found that actually I have a book out called Angel Blessings,
Messages from Heaven,
Which I include many,
Many,
Many words that have come to me from my childhood.
And I usually write something for someone who has passed on that I know.
And in that book,
That's a very thick book.
I mean,
That's about,
I don't know,
That's over 300 pages,
But it's very thick.
But I go through the process of what you need to understand in the process of letting go and making a transition.
But also I try to do exactly what you found.
And I found when we had our spiritual experiences that made an impact in our life,
Which is there is more out there.
There's more out there than just this life and this plane of consciousness and this physical plane.
And that whole book is talking about that.
And when my sister passed away last July 29th,
She also believed in life after death,
But she'd had some physical challenges,
But she was dealing with them.
And it was kind of an effect of COVID-19 because her husband at the time was knowing she was very ill and she was almost unable to move.
Her head was on the table,
In the kitchen table and she couldn't move.
And he didn't take her to the hospital.
And he checked on her,
I guess later on and she was barely breathing and he still didn't take her to the hospital.
And in the morning she had passed away.
And so I believe in life after death,
But I still had to come to terms with all those spiritual tools.
I write about forgiveness,
Trying to deal with this situation.
I know she had asked to move in with me,
That she was very unhappy,
That she wanted a divorce,
But she didn't think she could get there.
So she was trapped.
And we all know that feeling,
How many women feel trapped.
So these words,
When they came from in the hands of God,
Were her letting me know that she was okay.
She was in a better place and it was very,
Very necessary for me to feel that.
I just found out her birthday is coming up April 18th.
And I just found out her husband decided to get married this coming April 17th,
The day before her birthday.
And again,
I had to go through that process.
So forgiving and allowing these tools that I talk about and spiritual tools for better life,
Those tools there of going back,
If you say something and you teach something,
You really have to be able to live it.
And it's not always easy,
But I found those tools,
I had to use them and they were valuable.
Yeah,
These are,
Oh,
Cindy,
I'm so sorry,
First of all,
That you had to go through that and process that.
And these are the tools of faith,
Right?
Of faith and forgiveness.
And no matter who we are and what level in our life,
We're always going to be challenged.
And I found at one point that really truly I had to let go of it.
And that's why In the Hands of God came about because if you can surrender and know,
Okay,
This isn't anything you can do to change at this point,
It's in the hands of God.
And that's that faith and trust of knowing that there is something else,
Even though I may not know the whole picture of why,
You still have to have faith.
And I know she really is in a better place.
I understand that from her words.
I'm sure of that.
So I have to not be attached to what I thought it should have been like in so much in life.
We think it should be a certain way,
Right?
But it's like,
It'd be this way.
Oh,
Shoulda,
Coulda,
Woulda are very,
Very,
Can be very toxic words,
Right?
To have in our language because it makes regret.
It makes blame and makes so many things.
So whenever we hear those words triggering us,
It's like a good signpost to stop and go,
Oh,
Okay.
Maybe this is not in my control.
I think that also,
I think I've learned in all these years of meditating and writing and doing my work is that it's not an escape mechanism.
We talked about meditation,
How I was addicted to bliss for a while and how you loved it.
But actually what it is is that's why I said,
Spiritual tools for a better life.
When we find what we get,
It means that we are supposed to put that to work in our life.
And it's not easy.
I mean,
Trying to live by these principles,
As soon as you get something,
You think down,
There's something else that comes up that will test you and try you.
I mean,
You know,
I've been trying to find a place to live and there's a chapter I wrote about detachment.
Oh my God,
I had to go back and reread that chapter because I live in a beautiful home and I'm very attached to it.
And I like my pool and I like all this in my lifestyle.
And it's like,
Okay,
What happens if you have to let go?
What happens if you have to really detach?
And that is detachment,
Right?
I mean,
We know we're not supposed to be attached to our things and that includes a nice home,
But it's so easy to get attached to it.
Like what we like.
Yeah.
I mean,
You know,
And you want to,
I mean,
I always strive to live a good life not an exorbitant life but a good life,
You know,
And be able to treat your family to,
You know,
An everyday existence that's happy.
So you know,
I think that we have to balance all those things,
Right?
Yeah,
We do.
And that's what life teaches us.
I really think we're here on this planet to learn our lessons.
And even if you think you've ascended and risen and you have,
Doesn't mean you're not going to come back and learn your lessons.
And I think Christ was a very good example of that,
Of showing how,
Yes,
Even though there's certain things that could have happened,
He could have,
I believe,
Overcome being crucified.
You know,
I think he was a wise enough and a great enough teacher where he certainly could overcome that.
But he knew that was part of the process and part of the plan.
And when you follow that will of God,
You know,
It isn't always easy.
In fact,
It can be very challenging.
But if you're following that part of the plan,
Then there is,
If you know,
There's more,
If you know,
There's more love and more light,
You know,
Coming,
It's easier.
It does create the faith and it allows you to do the hard stuff to get to that point while you're here.
Yeah,
Absolutely.
And that's in life and in work,
You know,
And then when you get into work and you get into your financial side of things,
You know,
It can be even more challenging.
Oh yeah.
I wrote a chapter on this book that I have to read again and again,
And it's very valuable chapter.
It's called on karma yoga.
And it's about,
Again,
Once you know,
You love God and you love that bliss experience,
You love to meditate.
It's one thing.
Can you realize it's all one and put that same energy of loving your work as a process of service in the same way,
In the same way you love to meditate.
I've,
I'm going to time.
And again,
I realized sometimes it's like,
Oh my God,
I got to do this work.
I'd rather be doing,
Writing a book or I'd rather be creating a song,
Or I have other things I want to do,
But my work is the radio and I have to do the radio and I should learn.
And I am learning every day that this is maybe where I need to,
Because no one there cares about me being a minister or having CDs and books out,
Believe me,
They,
And that's the least,
No,
No respect there at work.
I know,
You know,
But that's good.
Right?
Because none of them,
I don't get a break for any of that stuff.
They just want me to,
I have to do what I have to do.
Right.
And that's very humbling.
It's part of why I never became a nun or a monk or minister where the word the robes,
Because it's out there in our daily life where we don't have the robe visible that we get treated like,
Okay,
You just got,
If you want to do this,
You got to do this and you got to do it and deal with all this stuff that comes up with it and guaranteed,
You will learn lessons from it.
Right.
Well,
And I think that that's where we,
You know,
Can kind of be good guides in business and especially in the music business or the publishing business as people who have lived a bit longer,
You know,
And put things into practice.
And we can model that a little bit to perhaps others who are still trying to figure that out or they're trying to do the right thing,
But maybe they're,
They're approaching it in a way that's not quite peaceful or conscious.
And so that becomes an everyday challenge.
I know for me and my,
My business and you do service with this,
You help a lot of people who could get really easily overwhelmed with trying to figure out what to do,
Because there is that right brain left brain thing.
And,
And it's very difficult to try to do it all by yourself.
And,
And you've helped,
You've helped so many people with the B company.
Oh,
Thank you.
Well as we said,
Maybe we'll,
We'll help some writers going forward.
I would love that there's so many great writers out there and we'll see,
But more about you.
So the book is spiritual tools for better life and the forthcoming CD,
We will revisit again,
But you can find all the other CDs,
The other 11 on Amazon or Cindy paulos.
Com.
People can link from there to any number of sites to see and hear what you're all about and insight timer.
I see you all the time.
And I wanted to mention how much I love your Facebook feed and your,
Your use of Facebook stories,
Because you do a beautiful graphic and you do your daily writing.
And it's really one of the first things that I love to look at every day.
And you see my little hearts going up to you.
Oh,
That's so sweet.
Thank you.
I didn't know that.
Yeah.
That's part because you know what,
When I wrote those words from in the hands of God,
That was posted on Facebook.
And that's where a friend I knew only on Facebook who lives in South Africa,
Father,
Corral,
Pete bend,
Eden saw it.
And that's when he wrote the music.
I didn't ask for that.
He did that because he saw it on Facebook.
He also did a mass for my sister because he saw she passed on.
So you never know.
And that's what sometimes something will click in.
It also is a way for me to know if people like something or don't like something.
I don't always know,
But I can tell,
You know,
If it's liked that,
Okay,
This is what people like and it,
And I'm not objective.
So it's good to see other people's take on something.
Yeah.
And it's great.
It's almost like a diary of your spiritual life when you see it,
You know,
In a story or in your Facebook posts.
So it gives us insight into you as well and your process.
But I think what I like about it and what I'd encourage others to follow you to see is your approach to Christianity and metaphysics,
You know,
Is to me,
Just talking about spirituality and on a higher level,
You know,
You have this wonderful accessibility in your writing,
Which makes because you're adding to the religious writings perhaps,
Or you're,
You're bringing the spiritual and metaphysical side to the Christianity story.
It makes it more accessible and it makes it make more sense in people's everyday life.
I think that means a lot to me because I do know,
Since I keep track of stuff and also an insight timer,
I know that if I didn't talk about God,
And if I didn't mention Christ,
That I'd have a lot more people listening and liking it because some people have some real issues.
But,
But for me,
I have to be honest to that because that's where this all came from.
And I know some people have a hard time and have had some real issues.
I'm not talking about a religion.
I'm talking about a deep connection with that inner God that we all can connect with.
But I thank you for understanding because I know many people don't.
But at the same time,
I have to be true to myself.
And I have one of the chapters in the book,
Spiritual Tools for a Better Life talks about being true to yourself.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean,
This is your,
These are your guides.
This is your path,
But any of us can still learn from that,
You know,
And it's a metaphor for for our own really.
So it really doesn't have to be a division down religious lines in any way,
The way I see it.
Well,
I believe all paths and I don't hold I mean,
I recognize and honor all paths and all religions in the metaphysical field.
We don't separate and we don't judge any other path.
So and some people don't understand that,
Because I know that doesn't happen a lot where people are so many.
So I thank you,
But I guess we're running out of time.
But it's always so nice.
We never have enough time during the week that they're really just have a chat.
So it's only when we get together here that we that we can really talk.
Yes.
Well,

This is Easter weekend when we're recording this.
So have a lovely Easter weekend with your family.
And I just love you and what you do.
People can go to your site and find out more about how you help people.
You've got a new website.
I know you put up and just the B company dot com.
But we tried to make it a little bit more of our California vibe.
So I hope you enjoy it.
Wonderful.
