Welcome.
This meditation is here to support your healing journey.
It's a time just for you,
To connect with the strength within,
To nourish yourself deeply,
And to honour the feelings and experiences that arise along the way.
Let's find a comfortable position.
Allow your body to relax once there,
And then gently close your eyes or have a soft gaze.
And then give yourself permission to let go of any distractions,
And to immerse yourself fully in this moment.
Before we begin,
Let's connect you to your breath.
Your breath is a powerful tool that can help your body and mind find calm and balance anywhere.
Today we're going to use a technique called diaphragmatic breathing.
This breathing technique encourages you to breathe deeply into your belly.
This type of breath activates your diaphragm,
A large muscle just below the lungs,
And stimulates the vagus nerve,
A crucial nerve that helps regulate your heart rate,
Calm your nervous system,
And ultimately reduce your stress.
Place one hand on your chest,
And the other on your belly.
As you breathe in through your nose,
Feel your belly rise,
Expanding softly like a balloon.
Imagine each inhale as a gentle wave,
Sweeping up the shore,
Bringing fresh life,
Energy,
And healing with it.
As you exhale through your mouth,
Feel the wave recede,
Washing away anything that no longer serves you,
Leaving calm and openness behind.
Take your time with the exhale,
Let it last twice as long as your inhale,
Allowing this wave to cleanse,
Refresh,
And bring ease into your whole being.
This rhythm of breathing,
Inhaling through your nose like a wave rising up the shore,
And exhaling through the mouth like a wave releasing back to the ocean,
Will be the foundation for this practice.
Each time you need to ground yourself,
To release yourself,
Simply come back to this steady breath,
Letting each gentle wave remind you of the peace,
Strength,
And healing power of your breath.
Now bring your awareness to any part of your body that may need healing or extra care today.
Imagine a warm,
Comforting light beginning to form there.
This light is soft yet powerful,
Carrying with it a sense of healing,
Warmth,
And compassion.
Let it be any colour that feels soothing to you,
Perhaps a warm golden glow,
A calming blue,
Or a rich green.
Whatever you choose,
Let it spread gently,
Bathing the area that needs your love today,
The healing power of this glow soothing and comforting and healing the area you've chosen.
With each inhale,
Feel the wave of your breath bringing in fresh healing energy,
Filling the area with light and vitality.
As you exhale,
Imagine this gentle wave washing away any tension,
Pain,
Or discomfort,
Cleansing and releasing whatever is there with each breath.
Picture this light flowing easily,
Moving behind the affected area to fill every part of you that needs balance and harmony.
Allow yourself to trust in the power of this light and the wave of your breath.
This gentle wave is part of you,
A source of comfort that will stay with you throughout this journey,
Ready to support your body's natural healing process.
A source of comfort that will stay with you throughout this journey,
Ready to support your body's natural healing process.
Now as we continue to breathe deeply,
Let's turn our attention to any emotions that may be present within you.
Remember,
Healing is not about turning away from what you feel,
But about facing and acknowledging each emotion,
Allowing it to move through you so that you can ultimately release it.
Our bodies hold on to emotions,
Memories,
Past pain and old wounds.
To let go,
To truly heal,
We must face and honor these feelings so that they can finally be set free.
Follow the next wave inward and start to explore yourself emotionally.
If you notice fear or anxiety,
Take a moment to simply observe it.
This feeling may arise as a tightness in the chest,
A heaviness in the stomach or a sense of restlessness.
Bring your breath to these sensations.
As you inhale,
Breathe right into this fear,
Like a wave of soothing energy washing over it.
As you exhale,
Breathe into this fear like a wave of soothing energy washing over it.
As you exhale,
Breathe into this fear like a wave of soothing energy washing over it.
And as you exhale,
Imagine the fear loosening,
Washing away with the wave of your breath,
Releasing and passing through you.
With each breath,
You are creating a path for this feeling to move through,
To be seen and to ultimately be let go of.
Let your breath remind you that you are safe to feel this fully,
That it's okay to face it and that you have the courage and strength to do so.
Each time you do,
You are freeing yourself a little bit more,
Allowing more space for balance,
Peace and ultimately healing.
If sadness or grief is present,
Allow yourself to sit with it,
Breathing directly into these feelings with tenderness and compassion.
Sadness may feel like a heaviness in your heart,
A deep ache or a sense of loss.
Breathe into it,
Letting your breath be gentle,
Let the wave embrace the sadness,
Holding it without pushing it away.
As you exhale,
Imagine the sadness releasing its weight,
Passing through you and on into the light.
Allow your breath to carry this feeling through to the other side.
It's safe to feel,
To let this sadness be seen and honoured,
So it no longer has to stay hidden within you.
Each breath,
Each wave of acknowledgement,
Bringing healing and peace to you,
Making room for peace and renewal.
If you sense anger or frustration,
Recognise it without judgement.
These emotions are natural and deserve to be felt.
Anger may appear as tension in the shoulders,
A tightness in the jaw or a restless energy within.
Let the healing wave wrap around these feelings with patience and understanding.
With each inhale,
Breathe right into the heart of this anger,
And as you exhale,
Let it move through you like a wave retreating to the ocean,
Releasing any pressure or tightness.
Feel the edges of frustration begin to soften,
Dissolving as you create space for it to pass.
Allow yourself to be with it,
To honour it,
And to release it.
Each breath is a step towards balance,
Helping you to let go of what no longer needs to be carried.
If feelings of guilt or self-judgement arise,
Let them be gently acknowledged as well.
You may feel these as a weight in the chest or a sense of regret.
Breathe into these areas,
Allowing the healing light to flow through you.
And wave of your breath to cradle this guilt,
Surrounding it with compassion and forgiveness.
With each exhale,
Allow the guilt to dissolve,
Releasing its hold on you.
Recognise that it's okay to let go of this burden,
To forgive yourself.
Each breath creates more room for kindness,
Balance and healing.
Let this guilt move through you and out,
Leaving you with a sense of lightness and acceptance.
Now take a moment to hold space for all the emotions you've encountered today.
If you use this practice regularly,
The emotions may have been familiar,
Or maybe you experienced them in different combinations or strengths.
If you revisited emotions,
Know that this is not a setback,
But you are merely healing on a deeper level.
Each emotion,
Whether they are big or small,
Each one is part of your journey.
With each inhale,
Let your breath be a source of strength,
Allowing you to face and honour each feeling fully and equally.
And with each exhale,
Feel these emotions move through you,
Like gentle waves releasing,
Creating space for healing and balance.
Let this practice be a reminder that your body has held these feelings for long enough,
And now is the time to let go.
By facing them with each breath,
You are setting yourself free,
Allowing your body and mind to come into harmony.
Trust that as you continue to breathe into your belly,
You're bringing balance and healing into every part of yourself.
I'm going to leave you now for a little while to continue this healing on your own.
Focus on your breath and this beautiful light,
Feeling it expand and flow wherever it is needed.
Imagine each inhale as a gentle wave bringing you energy and healing into every part of your body.
And each exhale is a cleansing wave,
Moving away any tension or worry,
Allowing your breath to wash through you completely.
Trust that this wave knows exactly where to go.
I'm going to keep track of the time for you,
And when it's time to close,
I'll bring you back with the sound of a meditation bell.
Let the sound of the bell be a reminder of the peace and healing you've cultivated within you today.
Take a few final deep breaths,
Feeling each one anchor the calm,
Strength and resilience you've connected to in this meditation.
Know that every breath you take is a testament to your courage and your journey.
You hold within you an incredible power to heal,
To ease your pain,
And to embrace life with gratitude and belief.
Within you lies a strength deeper than any challenge,
A light brighter than any darkness,
And a resilience more powerful than you may ever know.
Remember your breath is always with you,
A source of calm,
A medicine for the soul,
And a reminder of your capacity to heal.
Each day choose to honour this strength,
To bring compassion to yourself,
And to welcome each small moment of joy and gratitude.
Keeping your eyes closed,
I invite you to bring your palms together and vigorously start to rub them,
Creating heat within the friction.
When you're ready,
Still with your eyes closed,
Place each palm onto each closed eye,
And just allow the heat from those palms to soothe the closed eyes.
When you're ready,
Keeping the palms in place,
Slowly flicker your eyes open,
Allowing them to adjust to the darkness behind those palms.
Then when you're ready and there's no rush,
Slowly start to withdraw the palms away from the eyes,
Allowing the light to creep in.
Eventually allowing the arms to fold away to your sides,
Don't be in a hurry to focus those eyes.
As your eyes continue to adjust,
Let yourself return to the present,
And as you do,
Carry with you the belief in your own power,
The capacity to heal.
And as you do,
Carry with you the belief in your own power,
The capacity to fill your days with healing,
Gratitude and a gentle faith in yourself.
You are stronger than you may realise,
And you are not alone on this path of healing.
