Welcome to this guided meditation focusing on Apanavayu,
On the energy that moves down and out from the body,
The mind,
And the spirit.
This downward,
Outward flowing energy is the energy of elimination.
It supports grounding,
Structure,
Stability,
And the sense of security being rooted in your sense of self.
It also is the energy of releasing,
Of letting go,
Eliminating toxins through your breath,
Your sweat,
Your bowels,
Releasing attachments,
Unwinding patterns,
Letting go of old stories.
As we connect with our breath and our bodies,
We'll foster this balance,
Downward,
Outward moving energy,
Promoting grounding,
Restoration,
Security,
And fostering release of what is no longer serving,
Creating harmony,
Indigestion,
Detoxification,
And emotional balance.
I'm taking this time to really settle into your space.
Can you bring all your awareness to the parts of you that are being held,
That are supported by a surface beneath you,
Maybe the soles of your feet,
Your sitting bones,
In the backs of your thighs,
Your entire back body,
Maybe the back of your head.
Feel your spine,
Long,
And as the top of the head is reaching for the skies,
The sitting bones,
The tailbone,
Are reaching downwards,
Are sinking,
Melting,
Releasing into all the support beneath you,
Bringing your awareness to the breath,
And breathing in,
Taking in this energy from the outside,
Drawing it in,
And feel it moving down,
Drawing down.
And with your exhalations,
Can you allow yourself to relax even deeper into the support beneath you?
Breathing in through your nose,
Feeling the belly expanding,
Exhaling,
Feeling your body releasing tension,
Sinking deeper into relaxation,
And breathing slowly and deeply,
Settling into the present moment,
And shifting your focus to the base of your spine,
To the pelvic region,
To your lower abdomen.
This is the physical space where,
Upon a value,
Resides this subtle wind energy that governs the downward flow,
Connecting with the space,
And feeling the connection of,
Upon a value,
And the support of the surface beneath you.
Each inhale,
Drawing in fresh,
Nourishing energy directly to your lower abdomen,
Directly to your lower abdomen,
And with each exhale,
Releasing and eliminating,
Feeling the energy of,
Upon a value,
Flowing freely.
When,
Upon a value,
Is in balance,
It's easier to let go of what no longer serves,
Easier to see attachments,
To see the narratives of the present moment,
From the place of the observer,
As opposed to being stuck,
To being caught up,
To over-identifying.
As you're breathing,
Cultivating this balanced energy,
Balanced of grounding,
Stability,
Security,
Balanced with releasing,
Letting go,
Connecting with the calming energy a calming energy,
Balanced upon a value,
Brings.
It's steady.
It's safe.
Fostering trust that you are supported.
You are held.
You're able to connect with your truth,
And shed the rest.
Silently repeat this affirmation,

Coming back to your deep breaths,
Feel a sense of deep release with each exhale.
Imagine any emotional,
Physical,
Or mental tension flowing down and out,
Leaving the body,
Creating space to feel clear and grounded.
Connecting again with this area of your pelvis,
The base of your spine,
The lower abdomen,
Connecting with this downward current of energy moving through you,
Allowing this current to create a sense of balance,
Freedom,
Release,
Structure.
Bring your awareness to the sensations in your body,
The weight of your legs,
The air on your skin,
And the sounds in your space.
Bring some gentle movement to your toes,
To your ankles,
To your fingers,
To your wrists.
When you are ready,
You can softly open your eyes,
Feeling a sense of gratitude for the support of the earth and your ability to release what no longer serves you.
