In a world that constantly pushes us to go and do, discover the quiet gift of pause. Like the rising tide that gently pulls the shore into the vast embrace of the ocean, this meditation invites you to welcome whatever arises in the mind. Let yourself be softly drawn into presence—held, embraced, and returned to the deep current of simply being.

So I want to invite you to pause,

To touch the way in which it's a gift,

To pause.

And begin by recognizing that in this conditioned world where we're habituated to go and go and do and do,

It's a gift to pause.

In the conditioned world where our attention is habituated to move outward to various things,

To-do lists,

Concerns,

Thoughts about the past or future,

Narratives about who we are.

It's a gift to pause.

Surrender any temptation to try to clear the mind.

We're not trying to pause thoughts,

But we are giving the part of us that's always engaging with thoughts,

Chasing them,

Attaching to them,

Being impacted by them.

We're giving that part of us a break.

We're allowing the part of us that's always doing and moving,

We're allowing them to come home to the refuge of being.

The way that a tide rolls in,

Visualize the ocean or the sound with a rising tide just gently pulling what's on the shore into this massive welcoming body of water,

Welcoming whatever's there on the shore.

Just let whatever's on the shore of your mind be gently embraced and pulled in to being.

This welcoming in of whatever's here doesn't require any effort on your part in the same way that the rising tide doesn't strive.

Let your breath be like the waves,

Gently embracing whatever is,

Gently saturating whatever is with the ocean of being with itself.

If the mind is busy,

Let the mind be busy.

You aren't that which can control the mind.

You,

The ocean of being,

Envelops the mind,

Saturates the mind,

Embraces the mind.

Notice that the ocean of being doesn't need anything to be other than it is.

You are that which naturally allows,

Naturally embraces and holds whatever is.

The next 10 minutes will be in silence.

Just give yourself permission to rest as yourself,

As this ocean of being,

Naturally allowing,

Naturally embracing,

Naturally aware and bringing your attention gently back to the breath now.

Feeling the wave-like quality of the breath,

The embracing of what is quality of the breath.

As we close out with three of the longest and deepest inhalations and exhalations you've taken yet today.

Thank you.
