Hello,
Dear one.
When I feel cut off from life,
From others,
From myself,
It can feel like the universe doesn't have my back.
Like I'm just trudging along on my own,
Doing the best I can to survive,
Coping the best I can.
But it can feel like there's nothing supporting me,
Or guiding me,
Or holding me.
This brief meditation is about remembering that the universe has your back.
It's about giving yourself permission to feel that and know that.
I'll guide for a little bit,
And then let yourself rest in the space that we create together for as long as you wish.
When we're feeling cut off from life,
Running around,
Just trying to make our lives work,
We can feel pretty separate,
Sometimes isolated.
I don't want to assume that's how you feel,
But if you can relate to this,
Play with the notion that when we're feeling that way,
We are identified with a limited,
Small sense of self.
When we're identified in this way,
And another way to talk about being identified is when we're believing the thoughts and the stories that assert you are separate.
When we're identified,
It simply feels real and true that we're cut off from that place.
Everything we look out at affirms that story.
It's almost like we have on tinted glasses.
So when we look out into the world,
We're constantly getting the feedback,
Yep,
I'm cut off,
Yep,
I'm other,
Yep,
I'm isolated,
Or I'm different,
And that's not okay.
But sometimes we forget to question the filter or the glasses.
Have you ever had one of those moments where you look in the mirror and the thought you have is,
I look pretty all right today.
And then the very next day,
Or maybe even a few hours later,
You look in the mirror and there's a sense of,
Oh my God,
I'm a train wreck.
What happened?
All that's changed are the glasses.
So I'm suggesting that it's as though when we feel like the universe doesn't have our back,
It's actually just that we're wearing some glasses that look out and only see separation.
That only interpret all events through the lens of,
I'm other,
Or I don't belong,
Or things aren't working.
It's the mind of something wrong and not enough,
The mind of scarcity.
Take off the glasses now.
Give yourself permission to experience reality without filtering reality through this conditioned lens.
Again,
The lens is unique to you,
But at the same time universal.
Can't we all relate to feeling cut off,
Or isolated,
Other than,
Some form of I'm apart from life,
Separate.
When we're identified with the conditioned mind,
It can feel so real and true that we forget it's even an option to take these glasses off.
How do we take the glasses off?
We return to presence.
Presence is always here,
And always now.
Another way we could talk about returning to presence is returning to being.
We're not returning to being something,
Being good at sports,
Or being popular.
Those are things.
We're referring to being everything.
We're referring to the being that's within all things,
That infuses all things.
That's not an isolated,
Cut off,
Separate experience.
It's ever-present beyond the mind of limitation,
Or as we take the glasses off.
From here,
Feel how the universe has your back,
Because you're not other than the universe.
The universe has your back,
Because you're everything.
