Today's theme is gratitude.

Research has shown that practicing gratitude meditation can help reduce stress and increase happiness.

It's important to note that gratitude isn't just about being thankful for the good things in your life,

It's about being thankful for everything.

Even things that may seem bad at first,

When we look back over time,

We'll notice those were in fact opportunities for us to learn and grow.

Let's open our hearts to those who support us in various ways.

We also open our hearts to our own strength and the beauty that surrounds us.

Now,

Please find a comfortable position and start to notice your breath.

Feel the breath flowing in and out,

Allowing your face and jaw to soften.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Relax your eyes and shoulders.

Now shift your awareness to your feet,

Softening the bottoms and toes,

Allowing them to completely relax.

Release tension in your calves,

Knees,

And thighs.

Feel gratitude for your family and friends,

Appreciating their love and support in whatever form it may take.

Extend your gratitude to the community that supports and surrounds you,

From your hairstylist,

Dentist,

Doctor,

To your neighbors and co-workers.

Let your heart expand to encompass your family,

Friends,

And community.

As you exhale,

Allow your hips to soften and relax,

Gently rocking them back and forth or side to side if it feels right.

Express gratitude for your creative mind,

Dreams,

And passions that inspire you deeply.

On your next in-breath,

Feel your abdomen expand.

Breathe out,

Let it relax and soften towards your spine.

Be grateful for the delicious and nourishing that strengthens you.

Relax your rib cage,

The back,

And the chest.

Feeling your heart with gratitude for the beauty of nature,

Trees,

Plants,

Flowers,

Insects,

And animals.

Soften your shoulders,

Arms,

And fingertips.

Relax your jaw,

Mouth,

Tongue,

And cheeks.

Appreciating the gift of communication and your ability to express yourself and share your story with the world.

Release tension in your eyes and forehead,

Allowing your intuition to guide you on the right path.

Feel gratitude for the wisdom within and the times when you've listened to it.

Soften the top of your head,

Feeling a deep sense of peace and contentment surrounding you.

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Placing both hands on your chest and say thank you to everything.

We observe all changes in life and live in the here and now.

I wish you happiness and bliss every day.

A beautiful way to begin the year. Short and deep meditation on gratitude, I'll save and repeat it often, as a gratitude mantra. Grateful for the opportunity I had to find such a marvellous teacher and creator as you are. 🙏
