Welcome.
I'm truly honored to be here with you,
In the sacred space where sound,
Stillness,
And spirit come together.
Grief isn't something we get over,
It's something we gently move through,
Breath by breath.
And today,
We take that step together.
If your heart feels heavy,
If tears come easily,
Or not at all,
If you felt like the light has been far away,
You are not alone.
I am so proud of you for being here.
Let this be your soft landing.
You don't have to be okay to begin,
You just have to be honest.
Before we settle in,
I invite you to try a few gentle movements with me.
Movements that help ease the weight grief can hold in our bodies.
Place one hand on your heart,
And one on your belly.
Take a breath.
Feel your own presence.
Feel the rhythm of life still moving through you.
Open your palms face up,
On your lap or at your sides.
This is your quiet yes.
Your openness to receive peace,
Love,
Or just this moment.
Now,
Shrug your shoulders up towards your ears,
Hold for a beat,
And then let them fall with an audible exhale.
Let your body say,
I don't have to carry it all alone.
Now let's begin.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze to stare down the tip of your nose.
Bring awareness to your breath.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And a long,
Slow exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Gathering presence,
Exhale,
Letting go of effort,
Letting go of anything that is sticking.
Continue breathing slowly and naturally.
Inhale,
Exhale.
As you breathe,
You might begin to notice the places where grief lives in your body,
In your chest,
Your throat,
Your shoulders.
You don't need to change it.
Just witness it.
There's no wrong way to grieve.
There is only your way.
Continue to breathe normally.
Now,
Imagine yourself in an open field.
The sky is soft and gray,
And you are surrounded by a quiet mist.
That mist is your grief.
It's thick.
It's real.
And it's all around you.
And it's been with you for days.
Months.
Maybe for years.
But today,
You choose to pause.
You choose to feel.
You choose to face what's quietly been following you with awareness.
You're not running from it.
You are standing still.
And that is strength.
Take a deep breath into this moment.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Feel your courage in the middle of your chest like an ember gaining oxygen.
Now look towards the horizon.
It's the most light point that you see through the mist.
You begin to see the faint glow of sunlight trying to peek through.
You take one step forward.
Then another.
You are not rushing.
You are simply taking calm steps forward.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it go.
You are not leaving your grief behind.
You are walking with it.
In love,
Not fear.
As you continue to move,
You feel the warmth of the sun begin to touch your skin.
And it's a welcome sensation.
It doesn't erase the pain.
But it reminds you.
You are still alive.
You are still here.
You are loved.
And healing is still possible.
Continue to breathe normally.
And bask in the warm sun as it dances on your skin.
And enjoy these affirmations.
You can repeat them silently or let them wash over you like the rays of the sun.
I honor my grief.
I honor my love.
I allow myself to feel fully and honestly.
It's safe for me to grieve in my own way.
I am healing gently and deeply.
I carry the memory,
Not the weight.
Even in my sorrow,
I am not alone.
My breath renews and anchors me.
My heart is strong enough to hold sadness and hope.
I give myself permission to soften.
Light will find me again.
And I will be ready to receive it.
Take a deep breath in and feel these truths settle in your body.
Notice how you feel.
Now take one more full conscious breath in through your nose.
And sigh it out with sound.
You've done something sacred today.
You faced what most try to avoid.
You chose to feel.
And that is the bravest thing of all.
As you come back into the space around you,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Notice your body.
Feel the ground beneath you.
The cloud may still be there.
But it's lighter now and so are you.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for trusting yourself.
And thank you for allowing me to walk with you into the light.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
