Hello and welcome.
I'm so glad that you're here and that you chose this resource.
I'm going to guide you through a simple walking meditation.
To practice to help you connect more deeply with the present moment and invite in greater awareness.
Whether you're in a park,
Your backyard,
Or just walking around the block.
Allow yourself to become more attuned to what's happening around you and within you.
Allow your body to relax and knowing that during this time you are safe and supported.
And take a moment to bring to your attention your body and notice how it feels.
Feel the rhythm of your feet as they hit the earth beneath you.
Let your spine stand tall and relax.
Allow your shoulders to soften away from your ears.
And just notice your feet as they lift and touch the earth.
With each step,
Let yourself become more present and more aware of the simple act of walking.
Notice the sensation of your feet meeting the ground.
And as you take each step,
Let your awareness be fully with your body.
Feel the movement of your legs.
The shift of your weight from one foot to the other.
And then take a deep breath in.
And let it go.
And if your mind begins to wander at any point,
It's completely okay.
Just guiding it back to the sensation of your feet and the rhythm of your walk.
Each step is an opportunity to come back to yourself.
Imagining your awareness and connection are growing with each step.
And start to shift your attention to your sense of sight.
What do you see around you?
Perhaps the colors of the trees,
Or flowers,
Or the sky.
Noticing the path in front of you.
Notice the small details,
The textures,
Colors,
And shapes of the world around you that you might usually overlook.
Are there animals or insects or people?
Notice where there is shadow and where there is light.
Allow yourself to really see and connect with what's around you.
And take it all in with fresh eyes as though you're seeing everything for the first time.
And as you walk,
Allow your attention to shift to your sense of sound.
What do you hear around you?
Perhaps the ruffling of leaves.
The chirping of birds.
Or the sound of your footsteps on the ground.
Can you notice the different layers of sound?
Maybe what's distant or what's near.
And as you walk,
You may begin to notice a sense of peace settling in.
Allowing yourself to be fully present and aware of the beauty and simplicity of this moment.
And then tune into your sense of touch.
As you walk,
Notice how the air feels against your skin.
Is it warm or cool?
Maybe there is a slight breeze.
Where you feel the warmth of the sun.
How does your body feel as it moves through space?
Notice where there might be tension or ease in your muscles.
Inviting yourself to soften as you move.
And bring your awareness to your sense of smell.
And as you breathe in through your nose,
Notice if you can notice the air itself.
Is it crisp,
Damp,
Clean?
Maybe it's fresh,
Earthy,
Or fragrant.
Maybe there are flowers nearby that you can stop and smell.
And take a moment to breathe in.
Really savor the experience.
And lastly,
Bring your awareness to your sense of taste.
Notice if there's any taste lingering in your mouth.
Maybe the freshness of water,
The last trace of coffee or tea.
Or simply the natural taste of your saliva.
Let this simple awareness be another way of arriving fully in this moment.
Tasting the very air of being alive right here,
Right now.
Allowing yourself to feel fully connected to everything around you.
Letting each step be an invitation to open up to the world with presence and awareness.
Let each of your senses ground you in this moment.
Allowing you to experience the world with clarity and connection.
And as we close,
Take a moment to slow your pace.
Bring your attention to how you're feeling.
Can you feel more connected to your body?
To the world around you.
And taking a few breaths here.
And as you do,
Bringing in this sense of awareness and connection with you.
And take this peace with you and let it permeate throughout the rest of your day.
