Hello and welcome.
Today we are going to be visiting with place and belonging.
Please make yourself as comfortable as possible while still being in a posture that helps you to stay awake.
If you drift off into your thoughts,
That's no problem.
Just try to bring yourself back to the sound of my voice as often as possible.
I like to make it a habit of giving myself permission to have all of my attention right here right now for the next 15 minutes.
And I invite you to give yourself permission as well.
Take note if there is any last little thing that you need to do to have all of your attention here.
Perhaps you need to adjust your posture,
Take a sip of water,
Turn off a device,
Whatever you need to do to be fully present.
And let us begin.
With the power of your imagination,
I'd like to invite you to begin walking outside.
So if you're in your home,
Bring to mind the environment that is around your home.
If you are at work or know of a place that you spend a lot of time at,
Begin placing yourself there now.
And as you begin to walk around the perimeter that surrounds the home or the place where you are,
Simply take notice of what's around you.
Notice plants,
Trees,
Grasses,
Perhaps there's a water element.
Just slowly make your way around and with gentle attention,
Just taking notice of what is surrounding your home or the place where you spend a lot of your time.
And as you begin to come around the final bend,
I encourage you to stand there for a moment and introduce yourself.
Say hello to all of these beautiful living beings that are surrounding your home that support you each and every day.
You can just say hello and introduce yourself,
Acknowledging that not only are you receiving from them,
But that by being there,
You're also giving to them,
That there is this interconnection that you may or may not be aware of.
And so for now,
We're just greeting our space and saying hello.
And as you begin making your way back inside,
Again,
Through the power of your imagination,
Begin acknowledging the walls that surround you,
The structure of the home or the place that is holding you,
Supporting you each and every day.
Just with your mind,
Just take notice of what is around you.
Walk through the premises all the way around,
Bottom to top.
And as you go floor by floor,
Saying hello.
Hello house.
Hello office.
Hello sanctuary.
The home is the next layer of support that is around you every single day.
It holds your greatest memories and your sorrows.
It knows you as well as you know yourself.
It can help you to feel secure and safe.
And known.
And other times it can feel like a stranger.
So for now,
We're simply going through and remembering and acknowledging this is a place of support for me.
This is a place of support for me.
And if you live with others and things within the structure feel chaotic or foreign,
Where is one room or one place?
That you can feel secure.
Go ahead and make your way into the room where you feel most at ease and secure.
And again through your imagination,
Imagine that you're stepping onto an elevator and you're going down seven floors.
And when the door opens,
And when the door opens,
You're walking into a long tunnel,
But you can see that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
So keep making your way down and in.
And when you get closer to the light,
Have a seat.
And notice how it feels for you.
To be sitting in this space.
Seeing the light.
Feeling the closeness that's around you.
You're seated inside of your own heart.
You're forever home.
The place that cannot be taken from you.
And it expands and beats.
Strengthens and softens every single day.
For you,
Of you,
And with you.
Just feel what it's like to be sitting inside of your own heart space.
You can hear the beating.
Reverberate on the walls.
This inner home has known you since you've taken your first breath.
It laid with you in your mother's womb.
Keeping you strong and vital.
Your heart knows you.
Your heart knows why you're here.
What you care about.
What hurts you and makes you worry.
Your heart never leaves.
I'm taking one of your hands and placing it on top of your heart.
Feeling the warmth of your palm.
On top of your skin.
And acknowledging that you are in there.
Right now.
This is where you belong.
Your sense of place and space that is unwavering.
You carry it everywhere you go.
Listen.
What is your heart saying to you right now?
What does your heart want you to know?
This relationship.
This place where you belong.
It's always here for you,
Waiting for you to come home.
To open the door.
Come inside and take a seat.
And warm yourself.
Remember yourself.
And know that you are never alone.
That you are contained and surrounded by layers upon layers of love.
That you are contained and surrounded by layers upon layers upon layers of support.
And all you need to do is say hello.
Taking a moment to give a final acknowledgement of yourself.
Your heart.
Your home.
All that is surrounding your home.
The community that you live in.
The community that you work in.
The greater world community.
You are a part of everything.
Thank you.
