Visioning Meditation For Intention And Goal Setting

What is it that you envision for your life? In this meditation, you'll be guided to connect first with Mother Earth and fill up on loving, compassionate energy. Then, you'll be directed to connect with the version of your inner child who has never experienced any pain, and with playfulness and clarity your inner child will guide you to see the possibilities for your future. These possibilities will come to you in a variety of ways (body sensations, imagery, emotions, words, the felt sense, etc.) so we encourage you to do your best to stay open to receiving guidance from your intuition about your dream life!

Hi there and welcome to this visioning meditation.

To start,

Find a comfortable position.

Find a spot or space where your body can relax,

But not fall asleep.

And when you're ready,

Close your eyes if that feels okay.

And if you feel like you're having to hold your eyes shut,

Then just let them open and hold a soft downward gaze two to three feet in front of you.

But do your best to keep your attention or your focus inside.

As you settle in,

Begin to relax.

You can move around as you need,

But the more stillness you can find,

The better you'll be able to focus.

Find a comfortable position that will sustain you for some time.

And as you arrive in that position in your body,

Begin to notice the state of your body.

You may notice distractions like sounds in the distance or people moving around in your living space or beyond.

Just notice these as they come up.

Name them and allow your psyche to let them go.

As you notice the state of your body and the state of your energy,

You may find that there are words or meaning that relates to the state your body is in.

Maybe you feel fatigued or tense or stressed.

Maybe you feel energized or excited.

Maybe there is a holding that is happening in your muscles.

Or any number of energetic experiences in your body right now.

And just do your best to take a sensory snapshot,

Knowing that this might be a good indication of how your body is operating on a daily basis.

Now I'll invite you to bring your attention to the areas of your body that meet the ground.

And that could be direct contact with the ground,

Or it could be through a piece of furniture like a chair or a couch.

But begin to notice the areas of your body that are connected to the ground or the support system that you're sitting or laying on right now.

And allow your energy to move downwards towards the ground.

And as you do that,

Imagine that your body starts to grow roots.

And your roots grow down,

Down,

Down,

All the way to the center of the earth.

And as you move downward into the earth and you reach the center of the earth,

Here you meet Mother Earth or Pachamama.

She may come in any form.

She might be a person.

She might be a goddess or a plant or an animal or any other form.

You notice that your roots reach out and connect to her and she welcomes the connection with open arms and safe,

Unconditional loving energy.

She takes in your energy and your presence and sends you love and compassion.

As she sends you that energy,

You feel it move into your roots all the way back up to meet your body that's here on earth.

And Mother Earth's energy comes in the form of white light.

It might be molten or solid or sparkly or any other form of light that feels right today.

But you notice as the white light energy enters your body,

It begins renourishing every inch of your body.

It fills all the spaces that need attention with extra love and compassion.

And with each inhale,

You take in a little more of that loving kindness from Mother Earth.

And with each exhale,

You release energy or tension that is no longer serving you.

Slowly fill your body from bottom to top with that white light,

Loving,

Compassionate energy.

And once it feels complete,

Pause and notice what it feels like to be filled with loving kindness and compassion.

Release any ego,

Any attachments,

Any judgments,

Even about this meditation today.

And just be present with your body.

Now imagine in your mind's eye that you're sitting in a peaceful place that's just yours.

And you're still connected to Mother Earth.

And across from you,

You see your inner child.

And she's the version of you that has never experienced any pain or history.

She's completely innocent.

You sit across from her and you really notice her.

You notice what her spirit,

Her essence is like.

And then she tells you that she has something important to show you.

Your inner child comes up to you and takes your hand and leads you to a staircase.

At the end of the staircase,

You can see a door.

But before you go up the stairs and through the door,

You know this is what she wants to show you.

And you can feel that it is totally okay and safe to go through that door.

Hand in hand,

You walk up the stairs and approach the door.

And you can feel how excited your inner child is and how free from worry she is to show you what's on the other side of the door.

You walk through the door together and on the other side,

You see the possibilities for your future.

These possibilities may be concrete.

They may be a felt sense.

They may be words or images.

Take your time walking through this space and really pay attention to how it all feels.

And once you feel that this part of the journey is complete,

Come back to the place where you started with your inner child.

That place that's just yours.

And here in that space,

She gives you a gift.

It could be a mantra,

A message,

Something physical.

Whatever it is,

It's something your inner child wants you to take with you and to know.

Take a few moments to really absorb your inner child's gift and tuck it into your heart space.

And then take a little time to set your inner child free or locate her somewhere that feels safe and good to her.

Make sure she's got everything she needs or you can get her set up with a spirit guide who understands her and who will keep her safe and loved.

Then take a few moments to take that entire place where your inner child and spirit guide are hanging out together and tuck it somewhere in your body that's safe.

Maybe you tuck it under one of your wings or into your heart or anywhere else that feels right.

And then if there's anything else you need to do to wrap up this meditation,

You can do that now.

Before ending,

Take a moment to send gratitude to yourself for completing this visioning meditation today.

Send gratitude to your inner child and to Mother Earth and to any spirit guides that showed up.

Thank them all for guiding you in your inner work today.

And whenever you get the signal from your body that you'd like to bring this meditation to a close,

Slowly and gently start to invite movement back into your body.

Starting small,

Wiggling your fingers and toes and allowing those movements to get more expansive in whatever way feels right to you.

Stretching,

Shaking it out,

Deep sweeping breaths.

And eventually blink your eyes open and take a look around your space.

If you can,

Take a few moments to write down bullet points or journal about what you saw or experienced regarding the possibilities for your future.
