Some days you feel healthy and strong. And oh my, aren’t those good days? Some days you don’t. You might hurt—inside or out. You might feel old, worn down, worn out. Maybe you managed to get enough sleep, but you are still tired. Maybe you couldn’t sleep at all, and you are so very tired. You are sure others are happier, healthier, smarter, wealthier. You are sure it’s just you. Hear me out. Be okay with you—no matter what state you are in.

Settle yourself.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Bring your breath into your body.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Welcome to a hit of hope.

Some days you might feel healthy and strong.

And oh my,

Aren't those good days.

But some days,

Or maybe many days,

You don't.

You might hurt inside or out.

You might feel old,

Worn down,

Worn out.

Maybe you've managed to get enough sleep,

But you are still tired.

Maybe you couldn't sleep at all,

And you are so very,

Very tired.

You are sure others are happier,

Healthier,

Smarter,

Wealthier.

You are sure it's just you,

Struggling.

When that happens,

Inhale.

Exhale.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Bring your breath into your body.

I've learned something recently.

Whatever it is,

Embrace the state you are in.

Hear me out.

Be okay with you,

No matter what state you are in.

Whether you are the weight you want to be or not.

Whether you are in the relationship you want to be in or not.

Whether you have the job,

The house,

The dog,

The kids,

The car you want or not.

Whether you feel capable or not.

Can you love you?

Can you find the courage,

The grit,

The strength,

The fierceness to love you,

No matter what?

Because that's the thing.

Do you hear me?

That's the thing.

You love you.

You honor you.

And you serve and care for you.

This matters.

Trust me.

You.

Please find the beauty and the light in you.

Thank you for this affirming practice, Betsy. It can indeed be difficult, but self-acceptance and loving oneself no matter the situation or circumstances are possible - and often discounted. So important though, and so critical to a more peaceful, centered, accepting life. Thank you for sharing this with us. I see the light in you. (And in me, as well. 😊) 🤲🏻❤️🤲🏻
