Morning is the first gift of a new day. Before responsibilities arise, pause with your first breath. Set an intention and notice your gratitude—for opening your eyes, for your breath, and for another opportunity to experience this day. This practice is inspired by the meditation Aham Asmi — “I Am.” We combine gratitude with gentle movement to connect with ourselves. With each inhalation, raise your arms upward, lifting your gaze. With each soft exhalation, lower them toward the earth. Gradually, unite the movement with the mantra: Inhale: Arms rise toward the sky. Exhale: Arms descend, softly repeating: Aham Asmi. I am. Expand the movement: Inhale, reaching overhead. Exhale, bringing your palms together in Anjali Mudra at the heart, softening your knees, and repeating once more: Aham Asmi. I am. Here, we free ourselves from the past and future. This practice roots gratitude into your entire day, reminding you that before you are anything for the world, you simply are. And that is enough.
