As we start our day.
And we gently open our eyes and stretch our body.
We begin to listen to our thoughts rushing in.
Are these thoughts yesterday's,
Last week's or last month's?
Are we replaying old scenes,
Conversations,
Old actions,
And going over and over them?
And to what end?
Are we expecting to feel different?
Are we expecting anything?
Or is this now a habit we have become so used to every morning?
We fill up our mind with yesterday's issues and concerns before we have even got out of our bed.
If our mind was our daily journal.
We have already crammed the page with our thoughts,
Leaving little space for the rest of the day's intentions and outcomes.
Are we being fair on ourselves?
Do we need to turn to the page first thing in the morning that is overflown with our to-dos,
Don't-dos,
Should-haves,
Could-haves and didn't-haves?
Could we start the day with a fresh new blank page?
Open safe and curious.
And be prepared to enjoy the day,
Whatever it brings.
Can we allow ourselves these few moments of peace with this blank,
Clean,
Fresh page before it fills up with the day's expectations and intentions?
It is a kind thought we can offer ourselves.
As we lay or sit here.
We can begin to notice our breath.
Moving in and out of our body.
Softly.
Slowly.
And with a sense of calm.
And noticing where you feel the breath the most in your body.
Is it in the nose as you breathe in and you can feel the coolness at the back of your throat?
And as you breathe out,
You can feel the warmth tickling the top of your lip.
Or is it in the chest as it rises and falls?
Or in the belly as it expands and contracts.
Or you may feel you notice the breath in your whole body.
Your whole body breathing.
And becoming aware of the thoughts that arise as you focus on your breathing.
Allowing these thoughts to be here.
And not judging yourself for having them.
Being curious about these thoughts that arise.
Allowing them to show you.
A possible pattern of thought.
Does this pattern of thought feel familiar to you?
Is this where you always find yourself?
And how does this make you feel?
Where do you feel it in your body?
Is it a strong sensation?
Or just familiar.
What emotions are sitting there in your body right now?
And letting yourself sit with these feelings and sensations.
As you breathe in.
And as you breathe out.
And let's help release these emotions linked to your familiar thoughts that reoccur.
And allow a fresh clean page to be desired.
Yearned for and actioned.
So taking full responsibility for yourself.
Your health,
Your well-being and your actions.
So say after me.
Tapping on the eyebrow point.
All these thoughts in my head.
Side of the eye.
Are overflowing every day.
Under the eye.
Blocking my way forward.
To that clean,
Fresh page.
Under the nose.
I notice these feelings and thoughts arriving in my body.
Chin and it makes me feel stuck in time.
Collarbones.
And now I choose to let these thoughts and feelings be released and let go.
Under the arm and I let myself watch them float by.
Without entangling in their story.
Top of the head and I turn to my clean page of the day.
Eyebrow point.
Empty,
Blank,
Fresh.
And excited.
Sorry to the eye.
To see how my day unfolds.
Under the eye,
Without yesterday's thoughts and worries.
Under the nose,
Pulling me down.
Chin.
I am curious and excited.
Collarbones and I open my heart.
Under the arm.
To a great new day!
Full of light and energy.
Top of the head,
And so it is.
Taking your arm down.
Taking a nice,
Long,
Deep breath in.
And releasing it,
Allowing your shoulders to relax and your breathing to come back to normal.
And enjoying this moment of a fresh,
Clean page for your new day ahead.
Take care.
