Welcome.

I'm really glad you're here.

If your mind has been busy,

If you've been overthinking,

Feeling anxious or just not feeling quite like yourself,

You're in the right place.

This is time for a gentle pause.

A moment where nothing needs to be worked out,

Analysed or even fixed.

For the next few moments,

You don't need to do anything at all.

Just allow yourself to arrive here exactly as you are.

If it feels comfortable,

Let your eyes close or you can simply soften your gaze and notice where your body is being supported by the chair,

The floor or whatever you're resting on.

Take a deep,

Slow breath in and an easy,

Slow breath out.

When we're overwhelmed,

The mind often becomes louder.

It tries to help by thinking more,

Planning more,

Replaying things or imagining what might happen next.

And over time,

This can feel exhausting.

It can create a sense of unease or a feeling of disconnection,

Like you've lost touch with yourself.

I want to gently reassure you,

You haven't lost yourself.

What you're experiencing isn't a sign that something is wrong.

It's a sign that your system has been carrying a lot.

Overthinking is often the mind's way of saying,

I need rest.

I need safety.

I need space.

And the way back isn't through more thinking.

It's through softening and coming back into the body.

So for this moment,

We're not going to force the mind to be quiet.

We're simply offering your whole system a little reassurance.

You might notice that when the mind spirals,

It asks questions like,

Why do I feel like this?

What if this doesn't stop?

When will I feel like me again?

Those questions can feel urgent,

But they often keep us caught in the loop.

And sometimes instead of answering the mind,

It helps to gently step away from the conversation altogether.

Imagine how it feels to come home after a long demanding day.

You don't sit down and explain everything you've been through.

You take your shoes off,

You exhale and you let your body soften.

And that's what we're doing here.

You're not trying to become someone else.

You're allowing yourself to come back to what's already here,

Underneath the noise.

So let's bring our attention now into the body.

And notice your feet.

Feel their contact with the ground.

Notice the weight of your body being held.

You don't have to hold yourself together right now.

And bring your awareness to your breathing.

There's no need to change it.

Just notice the gentle rise and the gentle fall.

If it feels supportive,

You might silently say to yourself,

Right now,

I am safe.

On your next exhale,

Allow your shoulders to soften a little.

Unclench your jaw and relax your belly.

And if thoughts come in,

And they probably will,

You don't need to push them away.

Simply notice them and gently return your attention to the feeling of being supported.

You might like to place a hand on your chest or your stomach and feel the warmth and steadiness of that touch.

And take another slow breath in and a longer breath out.

There is nothing you need to figure out in this moment.

Nothing you need to decide.

Just being here is enough.

And as we come towards the end of this time together,

Take a moment to notice how you feel now.

Even if the mind is still busy,

Perhaps there's a little more space,

A little more steadiness.

And remember,

This feeling of not being yourself doesn't mean you're lost.

It means you're human and you've been carrying a lot.

You can return to this gentle settling whenever you need to.

With a breath,

With a pause and with kindness towards yourself.

As you move back into your day,

Go slowly.

Let things be simple and you don't need to rush or push.

And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes and bringing this sense of calm and reassurance with you for the rest of the day.

Take care of yourself.
