This is a meditation for anyone living with chronic illness,
Pain,
Fatigue,
Or persistent symptoms.
As someone who has lived with chronic illness myself,
This meditation comes from a very personal place.
And while everyone's experience is unique.
One of the most profound shifts in my own healing.
Came when I stopped directing so much frustration toward my body.
And began meeting it with compassion instead.
Each time we practice meeting our bodies in this way,
We're giving the nervous system a new experience.
One of safety instead of threat.
And we don't have to do it all at once.
We can build our capacity gradually.
One small moment of safety at a time.
Throughout this practice,
I invite you to move at your own pace.
Allow yourself to settle into a position that feels supportive for your body today.
You might gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable or simply soften your gaze.
Take one slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
There is nowhere to get to,
Nothing to achieve.
Just this moment.
Soften the space between your eyebrows.
Relax the jaw.
Invite the shoulders to drop ever so slightly.
And now.
Notice how your body feels today.
Simply how it is.
Without trying to change anything.
Perhaps sensations or feelings are present.
Just noticing and seeing if you can invite some curiosity and kindness.
For whatever is here.
Letting it simply be here.
Take another slow breath in through your nose.
And a longer exhale through your mouth.
And now,
If it feels comfortable.
Place one hand over your heart.
Or anywhere your body would most appreciate a caring touch today.
Feel the warmth of your own hands.
Allow yourself to receive that touch.
And you might whisper to yourself.
I am here.
I am with you.
Again.
I am here.
I am with you.
There's nothing you need to force,
Nothing you need to figure out.
Just allowing yourself to rest in your own presence.
Offering yourself the same compassion you might offer someone you love deeply.
Take a few more slow breaths here.
Feeling the warmth of your hand.
Feeling the support beneath you.
Allowing yourself to be exactly as you are.
Thank you for allowing me to share this practice with you.
Thank you for being here.
And please remember.
You are not alone.
Be gentle with yourself.
