Good morning,
Dear one.
My name is Aria.
And I'd like to welcome you to the morning calm meditation.
This is a practice of intentionally.
Meeting the day with openness.
And a willingness to feel peace and stillness.
Rather than rushing out to meet the day.
Or allowing the day.
To rush in and grab a hold of our attention.
So let's take a moment and get comfortable.
Really invite in an opportunity to feel ourselves truly present.
In this moment.
You may still be in bed.
This could be the first several moments of your day.
Or perhaps you have been up for a little while.
Taking care of a few necessities,
And this is your moment to reset.
No matter where you find yourself or when you find yourself.
Remember that you can find yourself here.
And now.
And the invitation to do that is in your breath.
So let's take a few easy breaths.
In your own rhythm.
In your own time.
There's no need to ask the breath to stop.
Be anything other than itself right now.
Your breath.
Moves in and out of your body.
All day long.
Usually without your conscious awareness.
Allow it to just do what it does.
As you breathe in.
You may want to invite.
Stillness.
And as you breathe out,
You could invite relaxation.
But the real practice in this moment.
Is to simply bring your attention to the breath.
The end.
And the out.
The feeling of the breath in your nostrils.
The movement.
Of your ribs.
And your belly.
To follow the invitation that your breath offers.
Into your body.
And find yourself.
Present in this moment.
In this place.
Most of us begin the day.
Knowing.
What?
We need to do.
There is a list.
Obligations,
Responsibilities.
Goals,
Intentions.
And all of that activity is real.
It's there and it's waiting for you in the day.
But let's take a moment as we are just breathing.
Breathing in stillness.
Breathing out relaxation.
Let's take a moment and acknowledge that all of that activity isn't right here.
It's not happening.
In this moment.
In this moment.
There is you.
And whatever supports you are sitting or lying down on,
Whatever's holding you in this moment,
There is the sound of this meditation.
And my voice.
And there is your breath.
All of that activity.
Is not here.
And it is not now.
It's later.
It's done.
This is now.
That is then.
And we are.
So used to.
Moving into that list of activity.
So used to the rush.
The push.
The pressing.
The movement.
The reaching and the grasping.
We're so used to it.
Our mind.
And our nervous system.
Tend to become activated.
Very quickly after we wake up.
It is extremely common.
In our culture.
To Meet the day.
With a sense of needing to move.
Needing.
To press into the activity.
And so this is an opportunity to interrupt that pattern.
To see it?
And simply say,
No thank you.
You may find yourself smiling a little bit at this thought,
Or taking a deeper breath,
A sigh of relief.
Because of all that activity.
Is out there somewhere.
Not here.
Not now.
If your mind is clamoring.
And running through the details of that list of yours?
That's normal.
And we don't need to fight it.
You can just bring your attention back to your breath.
And as you do so.
Simply acknowledge that,
Yes,
I have things to do.
But I'll get to those.
And right now.
I don't need to do that.
You have set this time aside for yourself.
You knew how long this meditation was.
You chose.
To begin it.
These moments are safe.
From the rushing.
And the pushing.
And the movie.
These moments.
Are for you.
To welcome in.
Stillness.
And calm.
May help.
To imagine.
That the energy of the day.
Can be placed outside of the room that you're in.
Perhaps behind a closed door.
As if you were.
Putting a bag out.
Or someone else to pick up.
Your future self can pick that up.
You'll get to it later.
But your present moment self.
The self that is here now,
Listening to this recording.
You don't need to pay any attention to that list.
To that activity.
So you can.
Place it into a bag or a box.
Place it outside the door.
In your mind.
Close that door.
And come back into this space.
In this moment.
You're simply offering your nervous system and your mind your feelings.
Your body,
Another option.
And you may find yourself feeling curious about that other option.
Well,
If all of that activity isn't here now.
What is?
If I'm not rushing in.
Caretaking.
And doing the job.
And making sure that I Do the next thing on the list.
What is this moment?
What is here with me?
As I am here.
I invite you to feel for.
The calmness.
And the stillness.
Of presence itself.
Without all of the activity.
And the to-do lists.
The accomplishments,
The goals.
You are.
Your life is your life.
Your day.
Is your day and it all has presence.
That presence.
Is powerful.
Healing.
Strong.
Intelligent kind.
And wise.
And while it is.
Does seek expression.
And flow.
And movement.
It doesn't need.
A list of activity.
To be valid.
In this moment.
Become curious about that presence.
The beautiful blessing.
Of our bodies,
The intelligence of our bodies.
Is that our nervous system learns through repetition.
And even more.
Small moments of practice.
Can anchor.
Our way of being.
Into a different rhythm.
These moments of Curiosity.
Of simply being willing.
To interrupt.
The pattern of rushing and pushing.
Busyness.
To be curious about what exists for us.
Without all that activity.
Is healing.
And you're doing that work.
Right now.
So let's enjoy.
A few moments of simply being in this space together.
And remember that if your thoughts and feelings clamor in,
You can just acknowledge them.
And perhaps place them in that bag or box outside of the room.
And remind them.
That this is not their moment.
They belong to then.
And this is now.
They belong to later.
And this is now.
And just.
Feel this space.
And be curious about it.
What is here?
Without all that activity.
I'm going to invite you to Peel the edges of your body.
And Bring a little movement.
Into your body.
Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes.
Yawn and stretch.
And as you begin to do this,
Perhaps send a breath or two of gratitude.
Into this practice,
Into the space you have explored and created for yourself this morning.
And as you come back into the day,
I would encourage you to Open your eyes and really get a sense of the room.
And come back gently.
You know,
Just look around.
And acknowledge a few objects,
A few.
.
.
Random things in your room.
And look at them.
Look at one.
Name it.
They yes?
That is what it is.
And then move your eyes slowly.
Around the room until another object appeared.
Gets your attention.
And then name.
And acknowledge that object.
And then do it a third time.
Really look at the shape of it,
The color.
Maybe acknowledge its function.
This is a way of signaling to our nervous system.
That we're coming back from this spaciousness very gently.
And it allows our nervous system to imprint it and root more fully.
Into the practice.
It interrupts that vigilance.
That would normally tell us to get up and go.
Really?
Enjoy the transition.
Remember that when you chose this meditation,
You knew how long it was going to be so this part at the end is as much a part of the practice and you already decided to give it to yourself.
So let's embrace it.
Move around a little bit.
And.
.
.
Acknowledge your body in the space.
Maybe take a few deep breaths.
Be grateful for yourself and the time that you've given yourself today.
And than perhaps imagine.
That you will be greeting that day.
Energy of activity that's waiting for you.
And just ask yourself.
Who do you want to be as you do that?
What quality or energy?
Can you bring to that?
That might be a little different.
Than had you not done this practice this morning.
Thank you,
Dear one.
For spending time with me this morning.
My name is Arya.
And I wish you a beautiful day.
