Welcome to today's meditation,
Grounding to escape the monkey mind.
So often in our day-to-day lives,
Our minds escape the present moment,
Worrying about the future and rethinking events of the past.
So today we're here to ground ourselves into our physical body,
To stay present within the present moment.
So whenever you're ready,
Settle into a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
Whichever is more comfortable for you today.
And gently feathering your nest,
Making any last adjustments needed.
And if you have not done so already,
Allowing your eyes to gently close as you feel the weight of your body being completely supported by the surface beneath you.
Bringing all of your awareness to an egg-shaped white glowing ball of light directly above the crown of your head.
Acting as the curious observer as this egg of awareness cracks on the crown of your head,
Allowing your awareness to float down the back,
Sides and front of your head.
Dripping over your forehead,
Your temples,
Your eyebrows,
Letting your awareness drip off the tip of your nose,
Touching your upper lip,
Your cheeks,
Slowly running down the back of your head.
Allowing your awareness as it flows over your chin,
Your jaw,
The back,
Front and sides of your neck.
Allowing your awareness now to float down over each shoulder,
Flowing down either arm,
Passing over the elbows,
Into your forearms,
Wrists,
Backs of your hands,
Fingers and the palms of your hands.
Bringing your awareness now into your chest and pausing here,
Feeling into the beating of your heart.
Pressing the chest expand and contract with the breath.
And watching as your attention flows down now into your belly,
Feeling the belly rise down into your chest.
Bringing your attention now down into your pelvic floor.
Bringing your attention now to your upper back.
Watching as your awareness drips down the backside of your body,
Passing over your shoulder blades.
Feeling into the backs of your ribs and out into your lower back.
Really observing now as your awareness flows down into your glutes.
Running your awareness now down the length of either leg,
Feeling into your thighs and hamstrings,
Passing over the knees,
Feeling into your lower legs,
The ankles,
The tops of your feet,
Your toes and the soles of your feet.
Breathing here as you feel into your entire body.
Feeling into the subtle tingles of energy moving throughout your body.
Feeling now as if there are roots growing down from your root chakra inside your pelvic floor.
These roots travel down into Mother Earth,
Pushing through the soil,
Digging deeper and deeper down,
Grounding yourself firmly into Mother Earth.
Allow yourself now to be fully present within your body as you receive this precious gift of time for yourself.
Simply notice any sensations that may rise to the surface as I keep track of the time.
Feeling now as if there are roots growing down from your pelvic floor.
Returning your focus to your breath and feeling into your body once again.
Imagine a brilliant glowing ball of sparkling golden light settled in the center of your chest.
This warm ball of light surrounds your entire heart.
On each inhale,
This light becomes brighter and more vibrant.
And on the exhale,
The ball begins to grow in every direction throughout your body.
Inhaling as the light shines brighter and exhaling as the ball grows larger and larger until it encompasses your entire body.
Noticing as the golden light slowly fades away as you gently begin to bring some movement back to your body,
Wiggling your fingers,
Wiggling your toes,
Stretching out the body in whatever way it's calling you to now.
