Hi,
And welcome to this meditation that will help you create a compassionate space to honor your C-section journey.
Take a few moments to get comfortable,
Either sitting or lying down.
You may close your eyes if you wish,
And begin to bring your awareness to your breath.
Inhale deeply,
Allowing yourself to arrive fully in this moment,
Right now and right here,
And exhale,
Letting go of tension.
And repeat it a few more times.
Inhale deeply and slowly,
Arriving at this moment,
And exhale,
Letting go.
Letting go of any tension,
And repeat it one or two more times.
Feel the support of the ground beneath you,
The ground,
The floor is holding you.
And acknowledge that you are safe.
You are safe here,
At this moment,
Right now.
You can also repeat to yourself,
I am safe right now and right here.
And maybe try to relax a little bit more,
Again feeling the support of the ground beneath you.
I am safe.
And now gently shift your awareness to the area around your scar.
Giving a soft,
Caring attention to this part of your body.
Take a few deep breaths,
And as you inhale,
Imagine filling this area with warmth and kindness.
With kind words,
Good intention,
All the love that you could imagine,
Sending it all down to your scar.
And as you exhale,
Allow any tightness or tension around the scar to soften,
Letting your muscles relax.
And as you bring your attention to your scar,
See how would it feel to bring your hands to your scar.
Place your palms upon the scar,
Gently.
And imagine gold light flowing through your hands,
Through your palms,
Through your scar.
As you hold your attention there,
You may notice emotions surfacing.
Perhaps gratitude,
Maybe frustration,
Or something else entirely.
Whatever you feel,
All is welcome.
Don't resist the feeling.
In this moment,
Try to honor these feelings.
They are all part of your journey.
Allow yourself to embrace each one with compassion,
Without judgment.
And let yourself send some loving-kindness to this area,
Acknowledging it as the place from which your child entered this world.
You might silently say,
Thank you.
You are a part of my story.
This is a part of my story,
A mark of strength and a symbol of love.
Or you might say,
May I be thankful.
May I be accepting of this scar.
May I let myself heal all the emotions related.
And with each inhale,
Imagine breathing in peace and acceptance.
Picture the warm,
Yellow light spreading across your belly,
Bringing comfort to the scar and the muscles around it.
And as you exhale,
Release any tension or resistance,
Letting go of any stories or judgments,
Maybe anger.
You may hold about this experience.
Let it all go,
Just for now.
And take a moment to connect with yourself,
Offering gratitude for your body's resilience,
Compassion for yourself for going through everything.
And you may also extend this compassion outward,
Silently sending thoughts of peace,
Love and healing to all mothers who have had similar journeys.
You might say,
May I find peace with my scar.
May we all find peace with our scars.
May we all feel loved.
And may we all embrace our unique path.
You may repeat it a few more times,
Sending love and metta to yourself and to all mothers who have had similar journeys.
May I find peace with my scar.
May I feel loved.
May I embrace my unique path.
May we all find peace with our scars.
May we all feel loved.
May we all embrace our unique paths.
Imagine this compassion flowing from your heart,
Connecting you with a web of other mothers who have shared this experience.
You are not alone.
You are not alone and you are loved.
You are strong,
You are capable,
You are a good mother.
You are loved.
And when you are ready,
Take a deep breath,
Feeling grounded and whole,
And let any sense of peace or self-acceptance and love settle within you,
And knowing that you can return to this place of compassion anytime.
And when it feels right,
Gently open your eyes,
Carrying this kindness and strength forward with you.
