Using the gift of breath as your anchor,
This meditation will help you to relax in any position that you desire.

Allow yourself to assume a comfortable position,
Taking the intention of stillness in the quiet spaces of your heart.
Gently close the eyes,
Releasing the mind from the outer world of seeing and looking,
Returning your awareness to internal vision,
Internal hearing and listening,
Internal touching and feeling with whole body,
Whole spirit and whole mind.
Inhale Welcome the gift of air in and around the body.
Feel the air touching the skin,
The lips,
The mouth,
Entering the nostrils.
Breathe and feel the chest rise and fall,
Gentle as waves in the sea.
Open the senses,
Taste,
Touch,
Hear and see the gift of breath becoming life.
Allow the mind's eye to travel through the body,
Bringing simple awareness to tension and giving the body permission to release.
Tension in the mind to simply let go.
Relax the muscles of the face and the jaw.
Release the tension in the space between the brows.
Soften the shoulders and feel the release in the muscles of the neck and the back.
Relax the insides of the arms,
The wrists and the fingers of the hands.
Soften the muscles of the thighs,
The calves,
The ankles.
Allow the soles of the feet to gently settle into the softness of the ground.
Breathe As you welcome the arrival of each breath,
Invite the whole body and whole mind to release,
Settling deeper and deeper into each breath and the heart's intention of stillness and peace.
As you sense and feel the breath,
Notice the sensations that arise in the body,
Riding the waves of thought and emotions in the mind.
Meet the tension with only your awareness.
Loving awareness.
Patient awareness.
Kind and gentle awareness.
Feel how this awareness invites you to deepen the breath and how this breath allows thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions and tension to drift away like clouds passing by.
Feel the body opening like the dawn of a new day,
Each breath mirroring the flow and the rhythm of your life.
