This will be a first of many,

I hope.

I'm just going to read some of my favorite Bible verses and hopefully they fill you with peace,

Hope,

Or maybe even encourage you to look into them on your own.

And at this point I have decided to just read the verses and let you decide how you feel about them.

I am certainly no authority on the subject.

So here we go.

We'll start with from the book of John 12 35.

And Jesus replied,

My light will shine for you just a little longer.

Walk in the light while you can,

So the darkness will not overtake you.

Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going.

From Isaiah 55 8 through 9.

My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,

Says the Lord,

And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So my ways are higher than your ways,

And my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

From 1st Corinthians 11 11 through 12.

But among the Lord's people,

Women are not independent of men,

And men are not independent of women.

For although the first woman came from man,

Every other man was born from a woman,

And everything comes from God.

One that I've struggled with in my life,

From my favorite book,

Luke 4 12.

Jesus responded,

The Scriptures also say,

You must not test the Lord your God.

This one brings me such peace.

Psalm 78 24.

He rained down manna for them to eat.

He gave them bread from heaven.

Exodus 25 30.

Place the bread of the presence on the table to remain before me at all times.

Ephesians 4 31.

Get rid of all bitterness,

Rage,

Anger,

Harsh words,

And slander,

As well as all types of evil behavior.

Psalms 131 2.

Instead,

I have calmed and quieted myself,

Like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother's milk.

Yes,

Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Psalms 23 2.

He lets me rest in green meadows.

He leads me beside peaceful streams.

John 9 39.

Then Jesus told him,

I entered this world to render judgment,

To give sight to the blind,

And to show those who think they see that they are blind.

Psalms 6 8 10.

Go away all you who do evil,

For the Lord has heard my weeping.

The Lord has heard my plea.

The Lord will answer my prayer.

May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified.

May they suddenly turn back in shame.

Mark 1 35.

Before daybreak the next morning,

Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.

Luke 10 16.

Then he said to the disciples,

Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me,

And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me,

And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God who sent me.

Proverbs 10 4.

Lazy people are soon poor.

Hard workers get rich.

Deuteronomy 25 13 through 14.

You must use accurate scales when you weigh out merchandise,

And you must use full and honest measures.

Romans 11 29.

For God's gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.
