There's a lot to keep up with in our world today.
Maybe somewhere along the way you got the idea you had to keep doing more to keep connected with the sacred or the divine.
This brief daily practice is here to help you slow down,
Do a little less,
And reconnect with what brings meaning to your life.
Through a few everyday micro-moments,
The tiny little things you already do that help pull you out of your head and away from your distractions.
Tiny little moments that reconnect you with your body and your center.
So you remember what matters.
I'm Angela.
I'm grateful to be your guide through these extraordinary,
Ordinary moments.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position in a place where your eyes are free to roam.
This practice is meant to be lived with eyes wide open.
I welcome your surprise at that statement,
And invite whatever other feelings may have emerged in response.
It's okay to be unconventional in your spiritual practices.
And you may find that brings fresh vitality to your spiritual life.
So take a moment to look around your environment.
Become truly present where you are right now.
And let your gaze rest gently on something that brings a sense of ease and comfort to you.
That can become your focal point.
For the next few minutes.
We'll settle into this space by bringing attention gently to our breathing now.
Let's practice an easy three-part breath here.
Breathe in slowly.
Now hold that breath.
And now,
Exhale.
We'll continue with a few more rounds as we let our gaze soften on that focal point.
Breathe in slowly.
Hold that breath.
And now exhale.
I invite you to continue that breathing pattern.
As we begin to visualize this day in your life.
From your first instant of awareness.
That the Earth is supporting you.
As you wait.
As your weight first shifts toward the rhythm of the day ahead.
What thoughts?
Feelings.
Or images.
Arise here.
To connect you.
With your sense of the sacred.
In this ordinary micro-moment of greeting the day.
Maybe you're held here in the wonder of a ray of light.
That broke across your face just right?
It could be a reminder of achy joints that creaked into motion with that first step.
There are countless ways.
To connect and reconnect with the sacred.
In a single micro moment like this.
Inhale the sacred.
Hold that presence.
And exhale gratitude.
Now let an image or two arise in your mind of ways you encounter water.
In the course of your day.
Maybe in the washing of your hands or performance of your duties at work.
Or in a beautiful place you walk or take respite.
Pause here to reflect on how you feel.
The thoughts that come to mind,
When you hear this water flowing.
What meaning or symbolism do you attach to it?
Inhale the sacred.
Hold that presence.
And exhale gratitude.
There are so many tiny little moments we could contemplate.
Moments that connect us with our embodiment,
With our sense of awe and wonder at the natural world,
With our interconnectedness with each other.
With our sense of the sacred.
The first sip of a warm beverage as it reaches your throat.
The dance of a hummingbird who pauses to visit you mid-flight,
The eyes of a stranger who does not look away when you expect them to.
Tiny little moments like these are chances.
To inhale the sacred,
Hold that presence,
And exhale gratitude.
As you move through this day in your life.
Or reflect on its passing.
What micro-moments of connection call for your attention?
And reconnection now.
Inhale the sacred.
Hold that presence.
And exhale gratitude.
Carry this practice with you through all your wide-eyed living.
And thank you for practicing with me daily.
