Welcome,
I'm Angela.
I'm glad to be stepping forward with you into these mindful moments today.
Let's begin with a few centering breaths.
Draw one slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Hold a moment.
And now exhale through your mouth.
Letting your shoulders begin to fall away from your ears.
Take another breath here through your nose.
Hold,
Exhale through your mouth.
Feel any tension in your neck or jaw softening.
As your shoulders drop a little farther.
And we'll take one more deep relaxing breath.
In through the nose.
Hold.
Out through the mouth.
Letting the shoulders fall where they will.
Many of us,
Maybe you as well,
Spend much of our lives striving,
Seeking answers to our questions,
Searching for things to fill our longing,
Trying to prove our worth.
This color walk is an opportunity to step out of striving and be wrapped in hues of grace.
We even ask.
We don't need to earn it or prove ourselves worthy of it.
Grace simply comes to us.
It is beauty,
Life,
And divine presence already waiting for us.
Before you take your next step,
Choose one color for today's practice.
Maybe a warm yellow.
Of vibrant purple.
Or an electrifying blue.
Pick whichever color comes to mind first.
You can choose a new color tomorrow.
We will treat this hue as a tangible imprint of grace.
A gentle reminder that you don't have to manufacture beauty today.
You can rest in the joy of receiving it.
Now begin to walk at a natural,
Unhurried pace.
As you move,
Notice the urge to hunt or search for your color.
That is our natural striving mind at work.
Instead,
Practice softening your eyes.
Release the hard focus we use for screens and roads and countless other tasks.
Let your eyes become receptive.
Instead of searching for the color,
Allow the color to reveal itself to you.
When you spot your chosen hue,
Resist the impulse to analyze it or take credit for finding it.
Merely welcome it.
As a small,
Unearned gift.
You might offer a quiet response of gratitude,
Acknowledging a moment of grace that was already there,
Waiting for you to pass by and notice.
And do let yourself notice how effortlessly this grace appears,
In unexpected places,
In a weathered scrap of metal,
A shadow across the path.
The decay of a fallen log.
Notice also that your color appears regardless of whether the object is broken or whole,
Worn,
Or clean.
Grace arrives without demanding perfection.
If your mind wanders into worries or to-do lists,
And if self-judgment follows,
Meet that moment with grace too.
You don't need to walk perfectly.
Simply use your color.
As a gentle forgiving anchor to return to this moment Let's take the next few seconds to walk in quiet observation.
As you continue walking,
Consider the gentle grace of these mindful minutes.
All this color was already here before you stepped into your practice.
It did not depend on your effort,
Your merit,
Your striving,
Or your mood.
It was simply beautifully,
Graciously given.
Consider the subtle ways grace enters your ordinary days without any effort on your part.
None of these require your performance,
Perfection,
Or productivity.
They are simply given.
This is the nature of grace.
You don't need to strive for divine love and peace.
These gifts of grace are already woven into the landscape of your life.
Waiting for you to soften your gaze.
And receive them.
Begin to slow your steps now.
Bringing your movement back to a comfortable rest.
Take one more deep,
Nourishing breath in… Hold it a moment.
And let it go.
As you walk through the remainder of your day,
Whenever you glimpse your chosen color,
Let it be a touchstone.
A reminder to drop your shoulders.
Stop striving,
And rest in grace.
To turn this practice into a lasting habit,
I invite you to return to this track daily for the next 30 days.
Let this brief,
Mindful color walk in.
Become your daily sanctuary.
A time to step out of striving and be held in the vibrant hues of grace.
May you step confidently into this day,
Knowing that you are surrounded by gifts you do not have to earn.
Thank you for practicing with me.
