Maybe you have been searching everywhere.
For a sense of sacred presence.
Looking for signs in nature,
In global or national news,
In personal circumstances that may or may not be going the way you hoped.
What if the presence you are seeking has been with you.
Within you.
All along.
This brief daily practice.
Invites you to turn your attention inward.
And find the sacred in microscopic sensory experiences.
I am Angela,
And I am glad to share these mindful moments with you.
Let's begin by finding a posture that is relaxed,
Yet alert.
Perhaps seated with your spine straight and supported,
And your feet planted on the floor.
Or maybe lying comfortably with a bolster beneath your knees.
As you settle into your position,
I invite you to close your eyes or soften your gaze.
And if it feels safe to you,
Bring one hand to rest gently near your navel.
With the others centered just below your collarbones.
From here,
We're going to bring our awareness gently to the breath.
Letting the breath slow down.
And deepen.
Naturally.
With ease.
Only noticing the path the breath follows as it deepens.
And slows.
A bit more.
Inhaling.
And with this exhale,
Notice how the navel drifts toward the spine.
The ribcage draws inward.
The collarbone subtly sinks.
And on the inhale.
Feel the abdomen expand.
The ribcage open.
The collarbone lift ever so slightly.
Continue with these three-part breaths.
Keeping them gentle and relaxed.
Noticing the sacred subtlety.
The magnificent orchestration of your breath.
Noticing the divinity in these details that are with you always.
The abdomen.
The Ripcage.
The collarbone.
Collaborating seamlessly.
Another inhale here.
And with this exhale,
Gently begin to shift your hands to a comfortable,
Open position at your sides or in your lap.
Bringing your attention now to the very tip of a single finger.
It doesn't matter which finger.
Stay with whichever one caught your awareness today.
Let your focus narrow to that single point on that single part of your marvelous body.
What sensations are you noticing?
How does the rhythm of your pulse feel?
Is there warmth?
Coolness?
Dryness?
Dampness.
What sensations are emerging from within you?
Which are from your environment.
Let this moment of microscopic sensory awareness awaken you to the mystery of sacred presence in myriad details.
Both within and surrounding you.
Always.
It is not necessary to go searching for divinity.
Divinity.
Is in the details.
All around.
And within you.
Your mindful presence is all that is necessary.
You are enough.
To grow your awareness of sacred presence within and surrounding you,
Practice this meditation daily for 30 days.
Thank you for practicing with me.
