So sitting down,
Making yourself comfortable with your feet on the floor,
With your hands on your lap,
Taking a gentle deeper breath in and out,
And closing your eyes,
Allowing your eyes to rest and relax,
As you take your awareness down into your breath,
Noticing the flow from the tip of your nose down into the chest or the stomach,
Noticing the movement in your upper body,
The expansion and contraction as you breathe in and out.
The breath is incredibly powerful,
At times of overwhelm,
Simply by sitting down and closing the eyes and connecting with your breath,
You can bring yourself back into the moment.
Taking the time to breathe is hugely beneficial.
Now,
Noticing the flow of your breath in and down and up and out,
Noticing the relaxation that happens on the out-breath,
Noticing how,
As you breathe out,
Your body relaxes.
So simple,
So natural,
No chemicals,
No calories,
No stress,
Just sitting with the breath and allowing the out-breath to release and relax.
Make a commitment now to notice if you're feeling overwhelmed,
And if and when you do,
Taking 30 seconds to sit,
Eyes closed,
With your breath,
And now having a gentle stretch and a slightly deeper breath in and out,
You can open your eyes and return to the day.
