This is a guided visualisation that helps you connect with your dreams on a deeply felt, embodied level. In this meditation, you’ll imagine your future before you, seeing it, sensing it, and feeling it in your body. So that your intentions are not just thoughts, but lived experiences. By inhabiting your vision in this embodied way, you begin to align your actions, choices, and energy with the life you wish to create. This practice draws from yoga and neuroscience to create a deeply transformative experience.

There's a pattern that many of us notice in our work lives.

Almost like a familiar rhythm.

We spot an opportunity,

We dive in with hope,

And then we might hit a wall of disappointment.

And then somehow we recommit and we try again.

It's like planting seeds.

You water them,

Watch them struggle in the sun,

Maybe feel frustrated that they don't sprout right away,

And then you keep tending to the soil anyway.

At the same time,

Many of us wrestle with what we call work-life balance.

It's a puzzle.

One day it feels like work is tipping the scales,

The next life demands feel overwhelming.

And the result of this is a sense that part of ourselves is being left behind or neglected.

There's a sense that we are collectively exhausted because we're trying to hold all of these pieces together at once,

Without a way of letting them truly be in conversation.

One of my favorite writers and poets and philosophers,

David White,

Suggests a different approach.

He recommends that we imagine our work life and personal commitments not as things to weigh on a scale,

But as different voices in the same conversation.

Instead of trading one off against another,

Like if I do more work,

I sacrifice my rest.

We can let each part ask questions of the other,

Like challenging one another or inspiring one another.

Our work isn't separate from our life,

It's the living experience that moves and shifts and calls us forward into conversation.

Good work,

Like a good relationship,

Friendship or partnership,

Asks for commitment beyond our daily checklists.

Like a good relationship,

It surprises me,

Challenges me,

Teaches me patience and maturity.

And sometimes in the process,

Helps me grow in ways I could have never expected.

In this meditation,

We are exploring a recommitment to your dreams.

This guided meditation uses the principle that we find in yoga and neuroscience,

Which is a practice of visualization.

We create the future from the future,

Not the past.

When we create our experience of the past,

We tend to repeat only what we've done and known before.

In this meditation,

You will see and experience what you want in the future,

As though it's already a reality that you are immersed in.

And the future in this way awakens something in you,

The part of you that is waiting to come forward into the world.

It's a way of training your mind and body to become the future you,

Who you already are,

Who already has what you want.

And this allows you to be pulled forward by a possible future.

And this will unconsciously call forth new ways of being,

New actions and new opportunities,

New insights that invite you forward.

Let's begin.

Allow yourself to come into a comfortable position,

Whether that's sitting or lying down today.

You might choose to close your eyes,

You might keep them open.

But if they're open,

Allow there to be a soft focus.

And if it feels right,

Just taking a nice,

Natural breath in and out.

And just allowing yourself to arrive into this moment.

Letting your body rest in whatever shape feels supportive.

Maybe even encouraging all your muscles to come to a place that feels like no effort.

From the top of your head.

Letting your forehead muscles relax.

Letting your eyebrows relax.

Letting your cheeks and your jaw relax.

Letting your shoulders relax and your chest.

Allowing your belly to relax and your hips.

Letting your legs relax and your feet.

And as your feet are relaxing,

Your whole body becomes more and more relaxed.

As you find this place of less effort.

You might notice a little bit of busyness still in the mind.

You might notice a little bit of fizziness or bubbling in your body.

And just welcoming all of those experiences as well.

And as you settle into a sense of peacefulness in this moment,

I invite you to choose a meaningful dream or goal or desire.

Something maybe that you've already been holding in your mind's eye.

Something you've been trying to bring into reality.

Allow yourself to become aware of the longing that you have at the center of yourself.

Perhaps it's a kind of yearning.

Notice what that embodied feeling of that longing feels like.

Maybe it's a desire for deeper connection,

For abundance,

For impact,

For expansion.

That part of you that feels as if it wants to move outside of the boundaries that you have up until this point created around it.

I invite you to choose something that you would love to create,

That you would love to dream into reality.

Something that lights up the very fiber of your being.

Maybe it's something that you'd like to achieve without worrying about how it's going to happen.

I invite you to step into expansiveness.

What does that look like?

How does that feel?

Does it have a color,

A shape,

A particular texture?

How can you live into something big and brave and most of all meaningful?

To you,

Something that is your heart's true desire.

Something that feels impactful to you.

Something that you want to create.

It's okay if you don't know exactly what that looks like.

Maybe you have a sense or feeling of what it might feel like.

Maybe you notice it's something that would be heartbreaking not to have,

Not to bring into being.

I invite you to even speak it out loud in this moment.

Maybe it's just a word.

My intention is to have or creation.

My intention is to have or creation.

Whatever that is for you,

Feel free to write this intention down if that feels right.

We're going to go on a little journey now to the future to visit your future self who already has what it is that you want.

Close your eyes again if that's comfortable to do so.

And I invite you now to travel into the future where your intention has become reality.

Where it's already happened.

Allow yourself to see a picture.

What is life like when you have that goal,

When you have that dream?

See a picture of it just the way you want it.

Make it real.

Make it vivid.

Allow yourself to fill in the details of this picture.

That life with your intention fulfilled.

Notice how this feels in your body,

In your nervous system.

Notice if you'd like to take a deep slow breath.

Maybe as if you could step into the body of your future self and look out through your own eyes,

Inhabiting your future self's body.

Fully experiencing this future reality.

How does it feel in your body to have your intention fulfilled?

Notice any emotions or feelings your future self is feeling.

Allowing yourself to fully experience in full what it's like to have this dream become a reality.

Allow yourself to enjoy this feeling.

Having it feeling so good,

Noticing how natural it seems perhaps.

You might feel joy,

Pride,

Or peace.

That sense of,

Yeah,

I've got this.

And now notice the sense of,

I am loved.

I am a leader.

I am a person of impact in the places that matter to me the most.

Who is that you being in the future?

Notice that identity.

Notice how it feels.

Notice how true and right it is for you and for who you are now.

Imagine yourself walking down the road.

Imagine how maybe your walk,

Your posture feels different.

Imagine yourself talking to family and friends.

How do they experience the you that you are in this moment?

Imagine yourself sharing your experience through stories,

Explaining what matters to you and how you got to this place.

Notice how you speak differently.

I invite you to see your future self and what your future self looks like.

What do you notice about how they stand,

How your expression is,

The qualities you notice about yourself now?

Ask your future self what advice do they have for you in this moment?

What advice do they have for you about where your intention should be placed?

And from this place of your intention already fulfilled,

I invite you to ask your future self this question.

What did you have to let go of to have this future?

What did your future self have to let go of?

Allow yourself to just listen.

Listening to your intuitive knowing.

And then once again,

See if you can sense into the feeling of satisfaction,

Of joy,

Of peace,

Of having achieved your dream.

Seeing,

Hearing and feeling it as though it's already done.

And from this place,

Allow yourself to receive an answer to the following question.

What are the obvious steps that I have to take towards this dream?

Looking back across time and space to where you are now,

What steps,

What actions did you take for your intention to become reality?

What skills did you have to learn to support the place that you are in now?

To grow in the way that you did.

To reach the place that you've reached.

And in the place of having that knowledge,

Now ask yourself,

What is the action for me to take now to move towards my dream?

Allowing an answer to come up from the space of already having it and being it.

What is the obvious action for me to take now to move towards my dream?

This attention.

And notice the first answer that comes up.

It's direct from your intuition.

And when you have this next action,

Imagine yourself taking it to see yourself taking that step here.

Feel yourself taking it.

What it's like to take that step.

Notice how it feels to have taken that step.

Now let's bring our journey to the future to a close.

Returning back to this present time.

With all the wisdom you have received.

Gently start to bring attention back into your body.

To the felt sense of this moment.

You might gently start to blink your eyes open.

Taking in a little bit of the space around you.

To write down the insights,

The information,

The new found knowledge.

See if you can write from an embodied place.

What did it feel like?

What are those small gems of wisdom that you received from this experience?

As you continue to reflect on this journey,

I'll leave you with a thought.

The more you can visualize your desired future,

Your dreams,

Your future self,

The more you can change your brain-body connection to it.

In order to dream yourself into becoming that future you,

That you wish for.

Wishing you well as you live into the future now.
