Either seated with your back straight and your hands resting in your lap or lie on your back with your arms resting gently at your sides.
We're going to take some grounding breaths together to settle us into this space.
In and out through the nose for an in-breath count of four and an out-breath count of six.
Take a deep breath in and out to start and then breathe in two,

Out two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
In two,

Now let your breath return to its normal pace.
I'd like you to visualize a warm glow of light pouring into your body through the top of your head.
Feel the warmth of that light entering your head and filling you with a beautiful golden glow.
Feel all the muscles in your face relax as the warmth from the light fills the space behind your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks and your chin.
Follow the light as it flows down your neck and into your shoulders,
Relaxing and massaging those muscles.
Feel your shoulders drop as the light fills them and overflows down into your arms,
Into your hands and fills each finger with a golden warmth.
The light continues to flow down through your chest,
Expanding your lungs with each breath,
Filling them with a golden light.
Follow as it flows down into your upper stomach,
Your lower stomach,
Your groin and hips.
Feel any tension held here release as the warm light fills these spaces inside you.
Watch as the flow of light pours down your legs,
Through your buttocks,
Thighs,
Knees,
Calves and shins.
Feeling each area soften with the light and as it pours down into your ankles,
Your heels,
The soles of your feet and your toes.
Feel the warmth and relaxation that now fills your whole body,
Glowing with the warmth of this light.
This light continues to flow out through your feet into the ground like roots growing from a tree.
These roots of light grow deeper and deeper into Mother Earth through her layers to her core,
Her heart centre.
Watch as your light-filled roots wrap around Mother Earth's heart like a warm hug and as they do she passes her love,
Her protection and her energy into your roots.
This energy now travels back up through your roots to the surface of the earth and back into your body,
Flowing up through your feet,
Your ankles,
Your calves and shins,
Your knees,
Thighs,
Buttocks and hips,
Your stomach,
Your chest,
Your neck and head.
And when it reaches the top of your head it overflows like a fountain,
Pouring energy and love and protection all around you,
Creating a shield or a bubble that surrounds your body,
Creating a safe space protected from the outside world.
Nothing can penetrate this bubble unless you allow it to do so.
Here you are safe,
Safe from intrusive thoughts,
Safe from anyone's negative energy.
Anything that no longer serves you is on the other side of this energy shield.
In this space is only love and positivity.
As you sit here soaking up this energy,
You think about who or what you may want to share this space with.
You may want to just be here alone and that is perfectly fine,
But if you do want to invite anyone or anything in to share this space,
You can do so by placing your hands together at your heart,
Extending your arms forward and allowing your hands to touch your energy shield.
As you part your hands,
It's like parting curtains,
Allowing your shield to be temporarily open.
Inviting that which you wish to join you,
It may be people,
Animals or spirit.
And when they enter,
They are embraced by your arms as you wrap your arms around them and your hands touch and close the curtains,
Sealing you back into your protected energy bubble.
You are now here together in this safe and peaceful protected space and you can stay here for the rest of your day,
Safe and secure in Mother Earth's protection,
Where only the things that love you,
Protect you and support you are able to join.
Everything else is on the outside,
Everything else is not needed.
Sit here in your safe space,
Soaking up the energy from Mother Earth,
Holding you,
Protecting you and keeping you safe.
When you are ready,
Keeping this feeling of safety with you,
You can start to come back into the room.
You can gently wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
Maybe wrap your arms around yourself and give yourself a loving hug.
And when you are ready to do so,
Gently open your eyes or raise your focus back into the room and continue with your day,
Knowing that you are safe and loved,
But that you can return to this safe space whenever you want.
