So let's begin by finding a comfortable position lying in bed.

Allow your eyelids to fall shut and take a nice,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Let the breath empty out of your lungs fully,

Just letting go of your day,

Letting all your worries and anything that brought you here gently melt away.

Really arriving more fully to this moment.

Taking in another slow,

Deep breath in.

And on your next exhale,

Allow your shoulders to relax,

Your jaw to soften.

Just letting go of anything else that still may be holding on.

Getting your body and mind getting heavier and heavier.

And as the body begins to settle,

So does the mind.

Let your breath and thoughts release,

Preparing you for deep rest and peaceful sleep.

As you find a natural rhythm to your breathing now.

And notice where in your body you already feel tired.

Let your attention stay there.

Really feel this.

Sense the sweetness of being tired.

Your lips relax.

Your belly relaxes as you sink even deeper into the bed.

Breath gently moves in and out.

Visualize yourself in a beautiful summer meadow.

Feeling the warmth of the sun shining down on you.

Filled with the sounds of nature all around.

Not a care in the world.

Just completely content.

At rest.

Feeling a deep sense of relaxation on this perfect day.

Feeling your awareness drift with no direction.

Surrendering even more fully to the stillness of this moment.

Listening to the sounds of nature all around you,

You're becoming more and more sleepy.

Feeling yourself relax even deeper as you start to fall asleep.

That's right.

Just allow yourself to let go more and more with each outward breath.

Feel yourself being wrapped and held in the warmth of someone you love.

Feeling safe,

Protected,

And at peace.

Imagine them whispering into your ear.

It's okay to let go now.

I've got you.

All is well.

Gently letting go even more.

Falling asleep.

Allowing yourself to drift off into the most peaceful sleep.

What a lovely meditation. I found the teacher’s voice soothing and the background sounds of birds made me smile. I might have liked a full body scan. However I really appreciated the suggestion to visualize myself in the protective arms of a loved one. I am not asleep but I am more calm. I look forward to hearing more from this teacher.
