Take a deep inhale and with this inhalation bring awareness to your breath go ahead and relax the body close the eyes and make sure you're seated in a comfortable posture keep the back straight if you're in a chair feet are on the floor and just bring recognition to your breath being aware of the sound being aware of any sensation being aware of what's around and slowly focusing that attention onto the breath don't try to fight the mind if it goes off in any direction just bring the attention to the breath pay attention to the movement pay attention to the sound pay attention to any sensation but stay with the breath the mind may wander to ideas of the future the mind may go into the past but keep the attention on the breath notice any tension just notice anything that arises watch it staying connected with the breath know that you are not the one being moved by these experiences know that these movements are only taking place within your observation yet you the one who watches is beyond these movements and with that recognition maintain a steady focus on the movement of your breath realizing that whatever is passing emotions thoughts etc is not touching you who you are but it is simply being witnessed with another deep inhalation give a sigh you may open your eyes and with this new sense this new depth of awareness proceed through the day as an unmoved observer still participating in the action yet totally unaffected thank you you
