This is a somatic practice designed to help energize you in the morning.
Begin by finding a quiet,
Spacious place where you can stand.
Start with your feet firmly planted on the ground,
Your legs hip-width distance apart.
Find a soft bend in your knees so that you're comfortable,
And close your eyes or soften your gaze.
How you start your day sets the tone for your entire day,
So we're going to set the tone by deeply dropping into your body and being playful along the way.
I want you to start by grounding into your feet,
Really noticing the weight of your body,
Feeling your body being anchored into the earth.
And from there,
I want you to invite in a subtle bounce into your body,
Letting this bounce build into a subtle shake,
Letting the shake build over time.
In this process,
You're shaking off the night prior,
Or any stories that you're holding on to from the day before.
As you shake,
Just letting go of all of it,
Any stories of limiting beliefs or narratives that aren't helpful,
Really just shaking them off and letting those stories and narratives know that they aren't coming with you today.
I'm viewing this shake as a renewal for your body,
Letting the old be flushed out and inviting fresh,
Vibrant energy in.
Now,
As you're moving,
I want to invite you to take a deep inhale through your nose,
Pausing at the top,
And then exhaling with a big sigh.
And again,
Inhaling deeply,
Filling up fully,
Pausing at the top,
And exhale,
Letting go of any tension.
And one more time,
Full inhale through the nose,
Pausing,
And exhale,
Let it all out.
Taking a moment to adjust your shoulders,
Roll them back,
Opening up,
More space for deeper breath,
Bringing back that shake,
Inviting any other subtle movements,
Feeling your body start to come alive little by little.
Slowly,
With a deep presence,
Start to put your attention towards the movement in your hips.
So if your hips haven't been moving,
I invite you to open your hips from right to left a few times,
And then from left to right a few times.
Just opening,
Allowing,
And keep breathing as you're moving.
Next,
Bring attention to your spine,
Adjusting your spine to stand a little bit more.
A little bit more upright,
Getting a bit more access to breath,
Twisting in any way that feels supportive and opening,
And then taking a moment to give yourself a full body scan.
Just noticing and observing what's alive within you.
If there are any areas of your body where you're noticing tightness or restriction,
Just gently moving into those areas,
Moving in a way that really communicates that loving curiosity.
Not trying to fix,
But just being curious about where in your body needs to be moved into or expanded into,
Following your body's natural wisdom as you move,
Allowing time to move out any stickiness in a way that's unique to you.
So really getting creative on a way or a pattern of movement that's unique to you.
Make it fun,
Make it silly,
And getting this opportunity to wake your body up,
To feel some more aliveness through moving through that stickiness,
That tightness,
That constriction.
And then in time,
Slowing those movements down,
Reaching your arms all the way overhead,
Stretching towards the sky like the morning sun.
Once you're up there,
Inhaling at the top and exhale as you sweep your arms down.
Repeating this again,
Hands up to the sky,
Reaching,
Reaching,
Inhaling at the top,
And exhale,
Sweeping the arms down.
As you continue through this process of lifting your arms up and letting them fall,
I want you to visualize yourself gathering all of the energy that you've just created and pulling it down towards your core.
So you're pulling it down back into your body towards your core.
You're taking all of this energy that you moved and created and then you're pulling it back.
And then placing your hands on your heart or somewhere on your body.
And I want you to really feel all the energy that you've been creating,
Being pulled into that heart space,
Fully connecting with the heart.
Once you feel connected to your heart,
We're going to finish with some grounding.
So starting to get still,
Starting to slow everything down.
If you are swaying or rocking in any way,
Just slowing it down.
We're going to start gently tapping on different places in our body,
Starting at the bottom half of your body.
So starting with your feet,
Awakening that area through some gentle patting.
Just both hands,
Tap,
Tap,
Tap,
Tap on the feet.
And then tap,
Tap,
Tap,
Tap,
Moving up your legs.
Just taking about five seconds for each area of your body.
So starting on the lower half and then slowly moving up.
And really feeling the solidity of your body,
Feeling the aliveness of your being,
Feeling the connectedness of all body parts,
Feeling the reverence towards your body and all of the ways it's working hard for you and showing up for you each and every day.
Your body is so solid,
So steady and wavering in its devotion for you.
Once you've grounded into that solidity,
Stand with a rooted posture and I want you to place a hand over the heart.
And I want you to ask yourself this question.
How do I want to show up today?
How do I want to move today?
Whether you aspire to show up with grace,
Peace,
Joy,
Devotion,
Steadiness,
Flow,
Or something else,
Visualize and feel what it would feel like to embody that.
Really seeing yourself moving as this version of yourself.
Knowing that version of you is already in existence and it's so possible to be in that energy today.
So really taking a deep look at this version of yourself,
Really feeling that energy,
Pulling it all to you.
Big inhale,
Let it go.
And in time,
Open your eyes gently and start to feel the presence you've cultivated.
You are awake,
Alive,
Rooted,
And ready to step into the day with intention.
Ask yourself how you can take this energy with you beyond the practice.
How can you check in with your body more often to make sure you're prioritizing being in this energy?
My hope for you is that you can carry this connection with you and pour some energized,
Vibrant energy into not only yourself,
But into every interaction throughout your day ahead.
Thank you.
