Welcome to Veritas…a meditative adventure like no other! First and foremost what does it even mean? Veritas is latin for “truth”. The question is of course, which truth? Well, hopefully your truth. In this episode you have been taken to the underworld, and the spirits here have something to show you. What will you learn I wonder?

So,
How we're going to begin is you're going to sit comfortably,
However that means to you.
It could be legs crossed,
Could be sitting in a chair,
Whatever it is,
Sit somewhere comfortably that you feel relaxed and comfortable,
And you're going to close your eyes and you're going to take three deep breaths.
Deep breath in,
Count to four,
Deep breath out,
Count to four.
And each time you exhale,
You're going to try and relax your body a little bit further.
So you're going to inhale,
Pause,
Exhale,
Pause.
So as you're doing this and you're relaxing,
It's in those pauses between breaths where we're going to go.
That is where your creativity meets your imagination,
Meets your subconscious.
So let's see what awaits you in the spaces between breaths.
The spirit world is gray and mysterious.
Things seem to move here.
A tree in the distance was over there,
And now it is over there.
Your sitting rock is there sometimes,
But not others,
And your animal guide shifts in and out depending on where you are looking.
There is a cost to being in this place,
And you wonder what it truly is.
What is my name?
The animal asks again.
This time you have a better answer.
Show me silence.
Is that approval in those dark eyes?
It suddenly leaps at you,
And just as it's about to tackle you,
It disincorporates,
And the only way to describe it is that it dives into you.
Your body convulses and you collapse to the ground,
But your mind,
Your mind is transported elsewhere.
You see what the animal sees.
You move across the desert.
You drift on the wind.
You see now,
In this place,
Movement is not so much about physical muscle as about imagining where you want to be.
Here,
The spirit world shifts to your desires,
If you are wise enough to see.
Then everything suddenly grows larger,
And after a moment you realize that it's not everything else growing larger,
It's you growing smaller.
You are a mouse,
And the world is so large.
Above you a shadow passes,
And you see the great raven fly overhead.
Instantly,
One thought,
And one thought alone consumes you.
You must tell.
In a hurry now,
You scamper across the desert floor,
But a hawk cries from above,
And suddenly you are running for your life,
Your message forgotten for now.
You cannot outrun the hawk,
So you must outsmart it.
You find a root that is partially exposed,
And you crawl under as the shadow of the hawk passes over.
Here you wait until it is gone.
Then you are on the move again,
When suddenly you are grabbed by a fox.
Now you are the fox.
You are plodding across the desert,
Looking for food.
Above you a hawk circles,
And you pause,
Casually moving to the shadow of a large tree.
The hawk can see what you cannot.
Suddenly the hawk swoops but then pulls up,
Its prey seemingly out of reach,
But not for you.
You don't mind waiting,
So you quietly tiptoe your way closer to the spot where you see a small root.
You lay down and wait.
Your prey is smart enough to outwit the hawk,
But not you.
Eventually a small mouse pokes its head out and then scampers out,
But you pounce and have caught it before it even has a chance.
Suddenly there is a thunder of hooves and a horse appears,
Stomping at you.
With a panic you drop the mouse as you dart out of the way.
Then you are the horse.
You are grazing quietly in a field.
The shadow of a great raven passes overhead.
You stop and follow with your eyes.
When the great raven appears,
It is best to follow.
Down into the desert you follow,
Your long,
Powerful legs pushing you faster and faster.
It is so freeing to run,
But the desert can be treacherous,
So you must be careful.
Ahead of you a mouse frantically screams for its life as a fox shakes its in its mouth.
Interesting.
Could this be the reason the raven has brought you here?
You accelerate towards the fox,
Neighing loudly as you near,
Startled.
It drops the mouse and scampers out of the way.
Above you the raven is gone.
You stand proud,
Sweat glistening down your neck.
A roar snaps you to attention.
On the horizon a bear stands,
Pawing at the air.
It is time to go.
You are the bear,
Lumbering along.
There is a tree trunk,
The top of which is jagged and cut off from some long-ago lightning strike or fire.
It is perfect for backscratching.
You roll up and stand on your hind legs and shake your back against the rough bark.
It is glorious.
You roar in satisfaction.
In the distance you see a horse galloping across the desert.
Always in such a hurry,
Those things.
You drop down on your forelegs and continue on your journey.
You eventually find yourself in a mud hole.
You shake your bum with excitement and belly flop in before rolling on your back.
The muddy water is cool and refreshing under the hot sun.
You flip over and splash your front legs again and again for no reason other than that you can.
You growl with delight.
Movement catches your attention out of the corner of your eye and you see a mouse scampering past.
Once again with the hurry.
Wherever it is going,
It must be important.
You are the mouse again,
Scampering past a muddy bear.
It is not interested in you,
But still best to make a wide berth.
A sense of urgency drives you,
Although you are not sure why.
Into the hills you run,
Not feeling safe until the long grass shelters you.
Eventually you find yourself in a clearing and there the great stag stands.
Here is where you must deliver your message.
But the stag suddenly snaps its head to attention.
A great wolf has appeared on the hillside,
Stalking quietly.
You panic.
The stag will flee before you can deliver your message.
You are the wolf,
Stalking silently through the grass.
You make no sound.
Ahead of you a lone stag stands in the clearing,
Waiting.
Its antlers are majestic and large.
But then you hear a growling and a roaring,
And beyond the stag you see a bear.
It is rolling in mud,
But still its presence unnerves you.
This is not a creature worth crossing.
You contemplate for a moment,
But then silently back away and move on.
You are the stag.
The wind brings warning of a predator,
But it has gone.
You were safe,
And an excited little mouse brings word.
The great raven has come.
He must go.
But your destination is unknown.
Instead,
You concentrate.
Not so much on a place,
But on a feeling.
Somewhere,
There is a ripple of uncertainty.
Somewhere here is out of balance.
The coming of the raven always brings imbalance,
And it is your job to balance it.
There,
You sense it.
The raven,
And something else.
Or rather,
Someone else.
Your antlers begin to glow,
And the air around you buzzes with energy.
Space begins to fold in on itself as you disincorporate.
From your point of view,
It is the reverse.
Space around you distorts and ripples until a new space begins to form around you.
As you arrive,
You see a person sitting on a rock,
Looking decidedly out of place.
You sense this person's energy in your own form begins to change and shift until you are the right form for this person.
Suddenly,
They shout,
What is the name of the raven?
With that,
You snap back to your senses.
You find yourself lying on the ground,
Looking up at the sky.
The spirit animal looks down on you.
Seemingly,
It has left your body.
You pull yourself up onto your elbows,
And then sit up.
The animal waits expectantly.
So you have been waiting for me.
Your mind rolls over the perspectives you have been shown.
Individually,
Each point of view is perfectly unrelated.
Yet when the whole chain was connected,
It led the spirit here to you.
Which your intuition is telling you that it is exactly why you were brought here.
Your head hurts thinking about it.
You look up at the animal.
We are all connected.
It nods.
Once more,
You get the impression that you are being tested.
You look around you.
The tree has moved again,
And now there is grass where before there was rock.
As you contemplate connection,
You begin to feel the energy of this place.
Like ripples in a pond colliding.
And if you concentrate on those ripples,
You can almost grasp them.
There is something just out of reach.
But then you have it.
The name of the spirit animal.
You hesitate only for a second.
Your name is Wisdom.
With that,
It clicks into place and suddenly you feel connected to everything.
Time and space blur together.
With a thought,
You were standing atop a cliff looking out over the desert.
Then you were deep in a valley watching a river flow.
The sound of water soothing.
Again and again you move,
Or rather this place moves to you.
The sky changes each time until at last you pause on top of a hill looking down at a bear rolling in a mud hole.
For some reason this brings you peace.
The spirit animal stands beside you.
You must face him now.
You nod.
Somehow you knew.
Then the spirit is gone and you are alone on the hillside.
You breathe in and exhale slowly.
You don't have the device with you in this place,
But you know where you must go.
As you concentrate on your breath,
You slowly begin to shift.
At first you are transparent,
But then reality ripples around you until at last you extend your arms,
But they are no longer arms,
But great wings.
You are the great raven.
And you are the master of this realm.
A portal begins to open and beyond you see your destination.
Flashes of mystery and truths long thought,
Hidden,
Await you.
The raven has called you and you have answered.
But be careful what you wish for.
