Let's start by slowing our breathing.
Take a deep in-breath.
Hold.
And release slowly.
Take a few more and allow these deep breaths to remind you of God's nearness.
Now Psalm 23 verse 4.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley.
Sometimes we think of this valley as death,
Which is true.
But sometimes dark valleys are everyday human circumstances.
So what is your.
.
.
Valley that you're walking through.
Something emotional.
Internal.
Or maybe it's something physical.
Job.
Related or task related.
Maybe it's relational.
Name it,
Right now.
It's been a moment bringing it before God.
Even though I walk through the darkest valleys.
Fear no evil.
You are with me.
Do you believe this?
It's life changing.
Whatever the valley.
And face it with courage.
Now because of willpower.
Or your ability to pull yourself up by your bootstraps.
This is life-changing reality god,
The Shepherd.
Is all the strength you need and is with you.
Right in this moment.
In the next moment.
So spent.
Minute breathing in this reality.
Even right now,
God is with you.
I fear no evil,
For you are with me.
Your rod and your staff,
They comfort me.
These are tools.
For protection and guidance.
We can find.
Deep comfort.
Not because of perfect circumstances,
But because the shepherd will protect us.
Guide us.
So in what ways do you need protection?
Maybe some guidance.
I'll spend a moment asking God for this.
Now end your time with some imagination.
Imagine yourself walking down a literal path.
A dark,
Dark valley.
Feel.
The presence of fear and the unknown.
No,
First.
Visualize and feel a presence within.
Strength.
Feel the reassurance that You're never alone,
Even in this dark surrounding.
And now,
Feel a gentle prodding on your side.
Gentle tugging leading you in a new direction.
Visualize the rod staff nudging you with gentle guidance.
Feel the sense of adventure and calm,
Knowing there is a spiritual guide here with you.
Endure reflection by asking the Good Shepherd to help you notice.
Feel and be more aware of this guidance and witness as you take your next steps in the valley.
May you walk today in the comfort and guidance of the Good Shepherd.
