Sometimes,
We just need to find the pause.
A pause to create space.
A pause to focus ourselves.
A pause to calm our fight or flight.
In this moment,
In this space,
We can choose to pause by engaging with our breath.
We are going to breathe in deeply to the count of four,
Hold for the count of seven,
And breathe out through pursed lips to the count of eight.
We will do four cycles of 4-7-8 breath with me guiding the first two and you following your own count for the remaining two cycles.
Now take a moment to get comfortable in your space.
Close your eyes if you desire and let's begin with a deep cleansing breath in and calming breath out.
Let's begin.
Breathe in 2-3-4,
Hold 2-3-4-5-6-7,
Out 2-3-4-5-6-7-8,
Again 2-3-4,
Hold 2-3-4-5-6-7-8,
On your own.
Let's begin.
Breathe in.
Wonderful.
Take a moment and reorient yourself to your space.
Utilize whatever senses are available to you.
Notice what you can see or hear or feel or smell even.
Move your body if you can and just bring yourself back to the present.
Now that you have found the pause,
Take a moment to set an intention for your attention and remember that if you find yourself in need,
Know that a pause is only a breath away.
