Hello friends,
My name is Wendy Bee.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure today.
Today we are going to read a story called The Sky Giant and the Star Song.
Every night when the moon began to rise,
The sky giant would climb the tallest mountain in the universe to begin his work.
With his giant broom made of cloud fibers,
He would sweep the sky,
Clearing away dust,
Smoke and forgotten bits of clouds.
It was a never-ending job,
But it was one he loved.
He had been sweeping the sky for as long as he could remember,
Keeping it clear and sparkling so that the stars could shine brightly for all the creatures of the universe.
The sky giant was tall and broad,
With hands as large as mountains and feet as wide as legs.
His hair was made up of wisps of cloud and his eyes twinkled like stars.
He had a deep rumbling voice that sounded like thunder,
But it was always kind and gentle.
Good evening,
Stars,
He would say each night,
His voice drifting through the sky as he began his work.
It's time to make the sky shine bright again.
And so he would sweep the heavens,
His giant broom making soft wishing sounds as it moved across the vast expanse.
The stars twinkled down below,
Grateful for his care.
The sky giant had never been bothered by the work.
After all,
The stars needed their space,
And they could only shine their brightest when the sky was clear and clean.
But one evening,
As the sky giant was sweeping his way through the Milky Way,
He noticed something odd.
This part of the sky is quite dusty,
He said,
Frowning and peering into the depths of space.
I don't remember ever cleaning here.
The dust in that corner of the universe was thick and heavy,
Swirling around like a storm that had never been swept away.
With a deep breath,
The sky giant raised his broom high and gave it a mighty swoosh.
Achoo!
The sky giant sneezed.
The sneeze was so powerful that it sent a gust of wind flying across the sky.
The force of it was enough to scatter the stars like tiny sparkling marbles.
They were blown far and wide across the heavens,
Floating away from their places,
Leaving the sky dark and empty.
Oh no,
The sky giant said,
Looking around in shock.
What have I done?
The stars,
Once beautifully arranged in their constellations,
Were now scattered all across the sky.
Some were high up in the clouds,
Others were far off in the distance,
And some had even tumbled into the corners of the universe the sky giant had never seen before.
He stood frozen,
His heart sinking.
It will take me forever to put all the stars back,
He sighed.
But as he stared at the scattered stars,
His thoughts were interrupted by a small,
Twinkling sound that floated on the breeze.
From out of the shimmering sky,
A tiny figure appeared.
She was no bigger than a pin,
With delicate wings that sparkled like the finest dusting of stardust.
Her dress was made of light,
Soft as moonbeams,
And her hair shimmered with all the colours of the rainbow.
The tiny star fairy floated gracefully towards the sky giant.
Her eyes were full of warmth and kindness.
I saw what happened,
She said in a soft voice,
Like the whisper of a breeze.
Don't worry,
You don't need to do it all alone.
The sky giant bent down,
His enormous face filled with confusion.
But the stars are scattered everywhere.
It will take me ages to put them all back in their places.
The star fairy smiled,
Her tiny wings fluttering.
There's no need for all that.
All you need to do is make a wish and sing a song.
The stars will hear you and they will return to their original places.
The sky giant looked at her,
His brow furrowing.
Sing a song?
But I don't know how to sing.
I'm too big,
Too clumsy.
I have no voice like the wind or the birds.
The star fairy giggled.
You don't need to worry about that.
The stars just need to hear your heart,
Your kindness.
When you sing,
They will feel the love you have for them and they will return home.
The sky giant hesitated,
Unsure of what to do.
He had spent so many years cleaning and caring for the sky,
But he had never needed to sing before.
It felt strange,
Even a little silly.
But where do I begin?
He asked.
The fairy fluttered around him,
Her wings glowing brightly.
Just follow your heart,
Sky giant.
Sing from your soul.
The stars will know.
The sky giant nodded slowly.
He closed his eyes,
Thinking of the stars,
How beautiful and bright they were,
And how important they were to the world below.
He could feel his heart swell with affection for them,
And a soft,
Gentle tune began to hum from deep within him.
It wasn't a melody he had ever sung before,
But it was warm,
Full of love and care.
He started to sing.
Stars above,
So high,
So bright.
Guide our dreams throughout the night.
You sparkle,
You shine,
You light our way.
Bring us hope until the break of day.
Back to the sky,
Where you belong.
Together you'll shine,
Where you are strong.
Sunny man,
Bearer of voice.
Stars above,
So high,
So bright.
Guide our dreams throughout the night,
The night.
You sparkle,
You shine,
You light our way.
Bring us hope until the break of day.
Back to the sky,
Where you belong.
Together you'll shine,
Where you are strong.
Sunny man,
Bearer of voice.
As the sky giant sang,
His voice deep and rich,
The stars began to stir.
They shimmered and twinkled,
As if they could feel the warmth of his voice wrapping around them like a gentle blanket.
One by one,
The stars began to move,
Slowly at first,
And then faster,
Until they were swirling back into place.
The constellations reformed,
And the familiar pattern in the sky began to appear once more.
The sky giant's eyes grew wide with wonder.
It's working!
He exclaimed.
The stars moved closer and closer,
Filling the sky with their bright light,
Until every single one was back in its rightful place.
The star fairy smiled brightly.
See,
I told you.
When you sing with all your heart,
The stars will always find their way home.
The sky giant beamed,
Feeling a deep sense of happiness fill him.
I did it!
I fixed the sky,
And the stars are shining again.
The fairy's wings fluttered in excitement.
You didn't just fix the sky,
Sky giant.
You brought the stars home.
You reminded them of the love you have for them,
And they couldn't wait to return.
The sky giant stood tall,
His heart swelling with joy.
Thank you,
Little star fairy.
I never knew singing could do such a thing.
The fairy nodded.
Sometimes,
The simplest things can have the greatest power.
Your heart is enough to move the stars.
With the stars back in place,
The sky giant felt like dancing.
His joy bubbled up,
And before he knew it,
He was twirling across the sky,
His giant feet making soft thumping sounds in the clouds as he leapt and spun,
Laughing with delight.
The stars seemed to twinkle even brighter,
As if they were joining in the celebration.
The sky giant danced with the grace of a cloud,
Swirling and spinning across the sky,
His laughter echoing like the sound of thunder.
The star fairy giggled and flew beside him,
Her wings sparkling in the moonlight.
You're doing it.
You're dancing with the stars.
The sky giant chuckled.
I have never danced like this before.
It feels so wonderful.
He leapt into the air,
His giant arms wide,
And twirled around in a circle.
As he danced,
The stars followed his every movement,
Twinkling in rhythm with his steps,
Lighting up the entire universe.
For hours,
The sky giant danced across the sky,
His heart full of joy.
The stars danced with him,
Casting their light across the world below.
It was the most magical night the universe had ever seen.
Finally,
As the light of dawn began to appear,
The sky giant slowed his dance and gazed out at the beautiful sky.
The stars twinkled like diamonds in the morning light,
And everything felt perfect.
Thank you,
Little star fairy,
He said,
His voice filled with gratitude.
You have shown me that sometimes the simplest things can create the most beautiful magic.
The fairy smiled.
It was your love for the stars that made the magic happen,
Sky giant.
Never forget that.
With a final joyful twist,
The sky giant waved goodbye to the star fairy,
Who fluttered away,
Her wings shimmering like stardust.
The sky giant watched her disappear into the distance,
Knowing that he would always remember the night when he sang a song to the stars.
And,
From that day on,
Whenever the stars needed a little extra care,
The sky giant would sing his song,
Knowing that the power of love and kindness could light up the entire universe.
The End Thank you,
My friends.
I hope you enjoyed today's story.
Now,
Sweet dreams and good night.
