Hello,
Hi everyone and this is Teresa Conte and so good to be here with you today.
Today I'd just like to talk a little bit about how when we pressure ourselves to make a decision or take an action before we're ready,
How we create so much stress for ourselves.
You know,
And unless it's a crisis,
There is usually no good reason why we have to decide right in the moment we feel like we need to.
That's our nervous system really being overcharged.
So I'd like to share a little quote with you that I created many moons ago and it says Today I'm reminded,
When in doubt,
Don't.
And here's a little thought to go along with that.
When feeling pressured to make a decision,
Whether it's self-imposed or from external sources,
The best thing to do is pause.
Take a breath.
And if it's not a crisis,
It can wait.
And you know how things shift over time,
Right?
When we get through that momentary sense of pressure and the need to do something now and take a break,
Maybe we go for a walk,
Maybe we have a cup of tea,
Maybe we sit and breathe and meditate for a few minutes or journal or talk to a friend.
You know how that sense of urgency then can soften and then our intuition,
Our inner knowing,
Our inner guidance can serve us in then making the right decision,
The right effort.
Sometimes it doesn't even matter which way we decide,
But it's the pressure we put on ourselves that it has to be the absolute right and perfect decision.
And that kind of pressure never serves us well.
So the next time you're feeling the sense of urgency and it's not a crisis situation,
Just remember,
When in doubt,
Don't.
I hope you found this helpful.
If so,
Please do leave a written review and let me know how it spoke to you.
Wishing you a most wonderful day.
Bye for now.
