Mindfulness can sometimes feel cold or detached.
Loving-Kindness warms it with compassion.
Begin by directing kindness towards yourself.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be at peace.
Feel the words.
Notice any resistance.
Many people struggle with self-compassion.
Stay with it.
Now extend this kindness to someone you love.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be at peace.
Feel the warmth in your heart.
Extend it to a neutral person.
Then to someone difficult.
Finally,
Extend it to all beings.
This practice cultivates mindful compassion,
Being present with kindness.
Rest your hands on your lap.
Feel the warmth in your heart.
Open your eyes,
Carrying Loving-Kindness into the world.
