In your meditation you can use mantra to help you with stay alert.
The mantra I'm using is Amaramham Madhuramham.
Amaram means I am immortal and Madhuramham means I am complete,
Fulfilled.
But any phrase,
Any word can serve as mantra.
And how do you use mantra?
In your meditation you just express your favorite mantra.
In my case I repeat Amaramham Madhuramham and I watch the silence between two repetitions of mantra.
You don't have to do anything right now,
You just follow my voice.
You are just being aware of the words I am expressing and then you are aware of the silence in between the words.
Amaramham Madhuramham and you watch space.
Amaramham Madhuramham as if you are casting mantra far,
Far away and you watch and listen if anything will come back at you from this far,
Far infinite distance of silence.
Amaramham Madhuramham You don't have to do or control anything,
You are simply being aware of your attention,
Knowing words and knowing silence,
The space between words.
Amaramham Madhuramham Amaramham Madhuramham Amaramham Madhuramham And in the complete silence you can notice that your attention remains just the same,
Very subtle,
Very effortlessly alert,
Alert to the infinite formless silence.
In this silence you can notice your own aware power of knowing.
A rock doesn't know anything,
Only a sentient living being can know.
Amaramham Madhuramham
